"Baby, your father and I had a sort of misunderstanding, so... we kind of fell out." I finally explained, hoping that would be answer enough. But Nikolas had always been a very curious child. Because his brain was sharper than normal, he tend to be curious about a lot of things. His facotite thing in the world was asking questions, which was why I was quite surprised that he didn’t ask me anything about his father till tonight.

"Oh, so he hurt you?" He asked, eyes wide and filled with clear curiosity. I bit at the inside of my cheeks for a moment before shaking my head.

"No, baby. He didn’t hurt me. It was... just a misunderstanding." I explained with our eyes still locked. It had been on the tip of my tongue to tell him that his father had indeed hurt me, and that it had been really bad, because I knew that on telling him that, he’d instantly hate his father and want nothing to do with him. But then I’d feel guilty for doing that, simply because I still didn’t want Jason to meet him.

"Okay," he finally breathed out and a relieved sigh slipped past my lips. Phew.

Kenny massaged my back again and this time, I leaned onto the touch.

"But he never came by though. Or he dosent love me?" He suddenly blurted out and I realized that I had spoken too soon. This didn’t sound like it was over in the slightest.

"Niko, don’t say that. Why would you think someone won’t be able to love you? Much less your father."

Nikolai shrugged.

"Well, he hurt you, didn’t he? And he never came by. Not even on my birthdays, so I figured he just doesn’t like me. Is it because I’m not like the other kids? Bebecause I’m weird?"

My heart squished tightly in my chest and I blinked fast to push back to urge to cry. I had to remind myself that this conversation was about my son and not about me.

"That’s not true, baby. You’re not weird at all. You’re only a little different and that’s because you’re cooler and smarter." Kenny said this time, reaching forward to caress Biko’s chin.

"But I don’t want to be different anymore though. It’s tedious and stressful and sometimes not cool." He mumbled and I tugged him against my chest to engulfe him in a warm hug. I’ve been told to make him see a therapist because some of the things that bothers him are things he was still too young to shoulder, but I’ve been skeptical because I feel he was still too young for that. However, I was seriously considering that option now.

"You’re perfect and I love you, okay? Kenny loved you as well. Anna loves you so much even if you both tend to fight a lot. And as for your father, I’m sure he’d love you very very much as well," I spoke softly with his head still against my chest and he breathed out deeply, remaining silent but clearly poundering on my words.

"Okay, dad." He finally muttered and once again, relief coursed through my insides. But that was right before he sat up again to pin me with an almost worried look, face a little scrunched up.

"But would Kenny still be with us? Now that my father is... around." He asked and I couldn’t even supress the gasp that escaped my lips, tight before Kenny and I exchanged glances. When I glanced back at Niko, he still had a small frown on.

"Baby, Kenny is gonna be with us no matter what." I whispered, feeling Kenny’s hand tightened on me a little as I continued.

"We’re a family, remember? Nothing’s gonna change that, not even your father’s presence. Kenny would always be with us." I explained, meaning every word that slipped past my lips and Kenny’s scent sweetened in the air, tugging at my heartstrings. Niko had a relieved expression on this time.

"Okay, good. Because I love Kenny, and Anna... even though she’s annoying something. I want us to be together forever." He spoke this time, eyes shifting between Kenny and myself.

I pulled him into another hug and Kenny joined in this time, his hand wrapping around the two of us, surrounding us with his scent and his strength.

After the hug, Niko was thankfully sleepily and he yawned cutely, making me giggle as I kissed his cheek before Kenny picked him up while I rearranged his rumbled bedspread. He was whispering something into Kenny’s ear when I turned back at them and Kenny laughed a little before kissing Niko’s head.

"Sleep well, grumps." He tell him before laying him in his bed and drawing the sheets over him.

"Regarding our conversation, I’ll think about it, dad." He called out as i switched off his bedside lamp. Niko was the only three year old I know that preferred to sleep in the dark.

"You mean if you’d like to meet your father?" I asked.

"Yes, dad. I’m yet to come to a decision, I’ll need some time to think about it." He explained, voice filled with sleep and I hummed before leaning down to give him one last kiss.

"Take all the time you need, baby. I love you."

The breath I let out was long as soon as Kenny and I existed Niko’s bedroom. Kenny laughed a little at the expression on my face as he stepped closer to me.

"Wait till he gets to Anna’s age first." He drawled out and I surpressed a groan. I didn’t need him to remind me, I knew I had my work cut out for me, but I was very glad I wasn’t doing all of this on my own. When I stepped into his arms and hugged him tight, he buried his face in my shoulders and inhaled deeply, shoulders shaking a little.

I could see the signs, he also had a stressful day today and needed to wind off, and the best way for that to happen to him was for him to be dominated. Any kind of domination usually does the trick, and usually, if instantly he excited and on board because it was fun to me and I sometimes like seeing him lose control under my touch.

However, I also wanted to be dominated tonight. The entire thing I experienced tonight had been so stressful, clumped with the conversation I just had with Niko. Presently, I’d like to be really dominated and fucked hard on top of it.

But Kenny wouldn’t be up to that task. If he knew how I was currently feeling, he’d instantly shove his own need aside and attend to my own, he was selfless like that. But I hated that and I didn’t want him to do that, at least not tonight.

We headed into the kitchen while Kenny made some tea to help me sleep well tonight, and i fiddled with my shirt while my mind aimlessly wandered around.

"How you put Jason in his place tonight with your words, it was really hot." I blurted out and Kenny laughed softly, and I knew he was rolling his eyes.

"He had it coming, he sometimes sounds like he doesn’t make use of his brain, like it’s just there for decoration." Kenny explained as he began to slice up some lime which he was gonna add into the tea to give it a tangy taste.

"I wonder if Niko would really be interested in meeting Jason. So if he is, I’d really have to tell Jason about the fact that I had a child for him?" I mumbled, a frown already stretching out across my face. Kenny closed the distance between us to hand me my tea and I cradled the cup between my cold hands.

"Yes, unfortunately. You’d have to,"

My frown deepened as I stared down at my tea before glancing up at Kenny.

"But what if after Jason meets Niko, he refuses to leave him with me and try to take him away from me by force??" I demanded just as my mind began to swirl around in circles of panic and worry.

"You’re overthinking it again, baby. That’s never gonna happen. If he tries it, all you’ll have to do is to charge him to court. The baby grew up with you and you don’t sometimes act mentally unstable like me does, so I’m sure you’d instantly easily win the custody battle." He explained, sounding very confident and I exhaled slowly.

"Okay." I finally mumbled before sipping on my tea.

My phone pinged and I frowned as I reached for it. It was a text from an unknown number. I put my tea down and opened the message, and a few simple words met me.

"I’m so sorry.

From Jason."

That night, Kenny and I didn’t fuck. We only laid in bed, legs tangled together and lips lazily working against each other’s, and somehow, we ended up drifting off to sleep that way.
