I regarded Kenny wearily. He didn’t look alright if I was being honest. He was scowling throughout since we alighted the car and has yet to drop his grip from my waist. He was also sweating buckets. I reached up and dabbed his face with the handkerchief I brought with me as expected. He leaned his nose into the pulse of my wrists and inhaled deeply, eyes falling close for a moment.

Yup. That’s It. He’s not supposed to be here right now.

I wanted to ask him if he was sure he was alright for us to go in, but his patience felt like it was very thin and I didn’t want his ego to get bruised this morning, which was why I swallowed down the questions on my tongue.

Jason was staring at Kenny when I glanced at me but he wasn’t saying anything. I swallowed emptily and asked them if they were ready for us to go in.

"Wait, we forgot the wedding presents." Jason called out and returned to the car to fetch the presents we got on the way here. Kenny and I were left alone now and his grip tightened around my hips as his chest came flush with my back. I exhaled slowly and allowed myself to relax into his back, feeling his chest as he inhaled and exhaled a few times. I tangled my fingers with his and peered up at him, hesitating for a moment before speaking.

"All good, Kenny?" I asked quietly and he hummed, nose dragging down the side of my throat and I had to swallow down a moan when he suddenly nipped my throat.

"All good, doll." He almost purred as he spoke and I exhaled as I nodded. I was certain if his scent wasn’t covered right now, I’d be beyond aroused and scent drunk right now.

"Just, stay close to me today." He continued and I nodded, letting myself lean into him even more.

"Okay..." I was still speaking when he continued.

"And not with Jason." He added and it felt like I hadn’t heard correctly at first. I blinked a few times as I turned around to fully regard him.

"Kenny? What do you mean?" I questioned, heart already lodged in my throat. Before he could even respond, guilt was already curling throughout my entire body. Have I been making Kenny feel like I lean more into Jason?? Oh goddess.

"I just mean..." he trailed off and I nodded, urging him to go on but before he could start again, Jason was returning with the presents and I felt myself tense up, because Jason’s hand settled on my lower waist.

"You guys ready to go in?" He asked, eyes darting between the two of us. Kenny’s jaw clenched as he stared at Jason pointedly before nodding tensely.

"We were only waiting for you because we came together, and not like you’re the one telling us what to do." Kenny breathed in the next moment and I felt my heart fall right into my stomach.

I swallowed emptily, glancing between the two men. Kenny’s jaw was still clenched but Jason didn’t look annoyed or shocked, he only looked amused and that calmed me down a little.

Jason ended up rolling his eyes.

"Let’s just go in before the wedding ends."

Kenny was tense beside me as we walked into the hall. His hand was firmly around me and he kept me on his other side, making him stand between me and Jason, like he was keeping me away from Jason. I didn’t know what to make of what he previously said about me staying away from Jason and I still wanted us to talk about it.

Has he always felt that way? Like I don’t treat them equally? Thinking about that alone was enough to make me feel like crying and guilt was still eating at my stomach.

I barely focused on the wedding. It was so crowded that it actually made me feel a little uncomfortable because I was recognized by some people and also because I didn’t even know Raya knew this many people.

When her and Peter got pronounced as husband and wife, everyone cheered loudly but all I felt within me was skepticism, and it kept worsening the more I kept looking at him. There was something about him that just creeped me out, and his appearance didn’t help in any way.

When we approached them, I hugged Raya tightly and handed the presents to her. I introduced her to Jason as a friend and I didn’t miss the twitch in Jason’s chin at that moment. That made me think back to the statement Kenny made. I had thought we were all in on the decision of making things official between us. This means if Kenny hadn’t been okay with this this whole time then it means we weren’t making it official with Jason anytime soon, or never.

When Kenny left for a moment, Jason stroked my hair out of my face and leaned in to speak.

"Did Kenny act unusual with you? Like extra possessive?" He asked and I hesitated before nodding.

"I don’t think he’s presently fond of you very much." I admitted quietly but Jason only snorted.

"His alpha is just very agitated, I expected this in all honesty so I’m not surprised." He explained and my eyes widened.

"Oh, so... it’s normal?" I asked, breath bated.

"Of course. The normal alpha’s instincts doesn’t recognize sharing an omega with another alpha. Alphas are naturally very territorial and possessive, and when in rut, it gets worst. And since we are not officially mated, it’s understandable for Kenny’s wolf to see me as a threat or a competition."

He explained and I ended up letting out a long, relieved breath. This explained a whole lot of things and made me realize that I had been overthinking for nothing at the end of the day.

"So... when is this phase gonna end?" I asked and Jason hummed.

"I’ll have to make him submit to me again, but the difference here is that I’m going to dominate his alpha this time, and fuck him in his rut."
