Malik
Ace is a fucking menace.
And not in a cute way.
He was the complete opposite. He gets on my nerves so damn much. He talks my head off, ignores every warning I give him, does whatever he wants, is loud and very obnoxious, and to top it off, he’s extremely annoying.
Just this morning before I left the house, we managed to get into an argument. Which was always happening every damn time.
"All I asked was if you’d be returning early or not." Ace had rolled his eyes but I had frowned at him.
"It’s none of your business, is it?" I had said in response because I wasn’t used to having someone waiting to receive me at home whenever I go out. After that, he went ahead to point out that I was the one being childish between the two of us, and that had ended up in a full blown argument. He was the first person I’ve ever passionately argued with, with everything in me.
In the middle of the argument, I didn’t know how it happened or how we got closer to each other, but when I stopped to catch my breath, I realized I had him trapped against the counter in the kitchen. His head had been tipped back and his chest heaved with the force of his breathing. His lips were parted and his lashes were fluttering. A fleeting second past and before I could pull away to once again wonder why this was always happening between us, he was hurriedly shoving me off like I had just burnt him, then he had fled away to lock himself away in his room.
As usual.
Which was why I liked to call him a child. Because that’s what he is. An adult wouldn’t run from an uncomfortable situation, they’d sit and face in at that very moment.
If I found him attractive or if I liked how he smells or how he looks in my shirt or how he looked like he belonged in my kitchen or over my couch, then it was nobody’s business because those were thoughts I should never be having in the first place. I sometimes feel like a creep whenever I get those lewd thoughts, because he was way younger than me and I was supposed to be the matured and rational one between the two of us.
I hadn’t gone to knock on his door after he fled and locked himself away, I had just walked to stand before it and quietly speak.
"I’ll be back in about eight hours."
He didn’t respond, but I knew he heard me just fine.
And now that I was with Jason, I was wondering if he was currently waiting for me to return or if he doesn’t care at all like I was hoping.
"You were saying?" Jason’s voice tugged me out of my thoughts and I glanced up at him as a sigh escaped my lungs.
Jason traveled to his pack yesterday, and I accompanied him. He went there to set a few straight. He didn’t want to use violence to take away his selfish family members off the throne. But those ones weren’t interested in rational thinking, so the travel amounted to nothing. Jason had given them three days to vacate the throne or he’d be resulting to violence.
I felt a little sorry for his family members still stubbornly on the throne because he was gonna deal with them in a really painful way when he returned for them. With his enigma back and strong as ever, taking care of his family members was gonna be child’s play. Sitting with him right now was enough for me to be feeling the sheer amount of aura around him right now.
"I was agreeing with you, that was a good idea." I said, referring to the question he had just asked me about his future plans with his companies. He was already transferring most of his work to this country since he now plans to permanently reside here.
"That’s all then. It will get wrapped up before the end of the week." He breathed out before picking up his wine and sipping from it.
"How’s you and Ace?" He asked and I felt myself tense up while my heart did a few flips in my chest. Whenever his name gets mentioned; I always get the same reaction. Which was actually ridiculous considering the fact that I hate him and that he’s a child so nothing can come out from my funding him attractive or anything.
"Still arguing like kids?" Jason asked and I rolled my eyes.
"Ace is the kid between the two of us, and he has grown more annoying and irritating." I shot back and Jaxon hummed before leaning forward.
"So, do you want me to take him off your hands? I know I asked you to house him on Rory’s behalf and all but now that I know he’s not a danger, I can take him into our home. I mean, I’m certain Rory would really like that." He offered and I automatically tensed Io even more. The thought of Ace leaving me made a sour taste settle across my tongue.
The first time this happened confused me tremendously, right after he told me he was returning back home to his mom. I had convinced myself that it was just a fluke, but I had been so relieved when he returned back to me, even though he had been in tears and I had been more than happy to console him and hold him that night.
Of course after that night which we agreed to never bring up, we returned back to arguing.
The second time that ugly sour feeling showed up was when he told me he’d soon get enough money to move out after he starts working. Of course I had instantly been against that, then he offered to start paying me rent, which made me blurt out an urge of mine unexpectedly, that I was gonna spank him if he dared do that.
Of course I knew that would never happen. I’d never let myself go like that. Someone like Ace who’s so cheerful and kind and sweet had no business being with me. There’s the age gap as well. And just so many more reasons. There’s also the fact that he genuinely hates me because he believed I genuinely hated him. Which was so far from the truth.
"That won’t be necessary. It’s no problem housing him. I’m handling it just fine." I responded as I downed my drink.
Jason snorted after a few minutes.
"Of course you’d say that, when you’re practically reeking of him." He stated and I was so startled, I spilled my drink. M
"It’s alright, the kid is cute and I approve. However, be sure to not hurt him else you’d answer to Rory." He drawled out and I stiffened even more, feeling extremely exposed.
I struggled to come up with a tangible response and failed before sighing and deciding to just be honest.
"It’s pointless anyway, he’s a kid and he hates me. It can’t ever work." I mumbled and Jason rolled his eyes before leaning forward.
"You fool. He’s perfectly legal and if I remember what Rory told me, you’re all he talks about whenever they hang out together."

When I got home that evening, I wasn’t sure why but I stopped at a floral store to get some flowers. When I arrived home, I felt extremely ridiculous but it was too late to turn back because I had already rang the bell.
When the door swung open, I was awestruck at the sheer beauty of Ace when he opened the door. His hair was damp and they framed his face. He was so stunning that it hurts. I remained frozen in the doorway till he cleared his throat and nodded at the flowers in my grip.
"Expecting a date?" He asked, pulling me out of the slight daze. I wordlessly stepped into the house, breathing in his sunny scent which had managed to seep into every corner of the house since he started living here. He had managed to transform my house in about a month. My house wasn’t a bleak shell anymore. Now it always feels lively, the tv was currently on and the background sound of it felt comforting. A few paintings which he made me get one time I made him accompany me to an auction were hanging off the wall and lightening up everywhere even more.
He was currently drying his hair with a towel. Droplets of water were currently dripping over his face and clinging to his long lashes. His face was flushed from the heat of the shower he clearly just had, and he had on a tank top and loose pants. He looked so domestic and like he belonged here, right in my home.
I walked up to him and held the flower up in his face.
"They’re for you."
