Now that Kenny had mentioned it, when I focused on it, I realized that he had a scent, and not just a normal alpha scent, but that of an enigma. I gasped, my eyes widening and my mouth falling open just as my gaze locked with Kenny’s equally startled ones, right before we both glanced at a shocked Jason. From the expression on his face right now, it was clear that he was also just realizing.

"Oh god." I whispered as I took in a deep breath: all that flooded my lungs was the scent that I knew of Jason the last time we met and had that one night stand. The same scent I’ve imagined smelling in my dreams countless times after I fled to the city.

"H- how..." Jason began, still clearly shocked and too stunned to form a sentence.

"Your enigma..." I began, eyes still blown open. Kenny’s eyes darted towards me, his eyes glistening brighten.

"That’s- that’s how his enigma actually smells?" He whispered and I realized that Kenny never knew Jason when he still had his enigma so he never got to know what his wolf At its final form smelt like, I nodded vigorously in response before focusing on Jacob again. Jason pressed a finger against his closeted eyes, and before I could ask what was happening, a teardrop rolled down his cheeks. I blinked slowly before gently reached for his hand and tugging it off, and as his eyes fluttered open, tears swam in his eyes as it locked with mine and it was also brimming with so much love and affection as it darted between Kenny and I a few times before he finally spoke.

"I can’t believe this is happening. I- I can feel my enigma right now." He revealed as his second hand began to rub against his chest.

"Right here. I can feel it, and its presence it’s so alive and unlike something I’ve ever felt before." He continued and I tugged him forward into a hug, his chest pressed against my chest as he cried quietly. "After my wolf died, I thought I’d never get to experience this again." He began and Kenny went ahead to explain to me that when he and Jason came to Alex’s place to find me, Jason’s wolf got killed completely by a shot from a syringe. I let out a long sigh filled with so much relief and happiness as I watched the two of them hug each other a few times.

"Now, I can only feel my wolf right now thanks to the two of you. What would I be without the two of you and where would I be?" He spoke quietly as he spoke and we engulfed him in hugs again, really tightly.

"I love you two so much. So fucking much." Jason continued, voice thick to the brim with emotions and I felt my heart start to ache Witt so much love. I couldn’t believe I once said I wished he could die in the past. Now I couldn’t even imagine life without him.

"I love you two so much as well. More than life itself. It was scary, thinking that I was gonna end up alone in this world without either of you. Please don’t ever leave me. I love you two more than life itself." Kenny spoke this time and I couldn’t stop the teardrop that rolled from my cheek at this point, one which Jason thumbed away with a fond expression that made my chest flutter.

"I love you two more than life itself." I began and they both listened attentively as I continued. "When I was kidnapped, you were all I thought about, and all I kept longing for. It was funny that I was more worried about you two than my own self while I was abducted. I love you two a whole lot and from today henceforth, I’ll make sure to keep reminding you two till the end of our lives."

"Are you sure you aren’t hurt? Like at all?" Jason asked as he let his gaze drag over every inch of me. We had finally gotten out of the bed and Jason had changed into his normal clothes because we were finally about to leave this hospital.

"I am. I promise." I assured him with a small laugh for the hundredth time. He sighed and crushed me against his chest before nuzzling down my throat, arms tight around my waist like he was afraid i’d be snatched away should he let go.

"It’s my fault you got kidnapped. I wasn’t focused enough, and I know I don’t deserve you after that, along with the fact that I had still been unable to save you. You were the one who still ended up saving me, and for that, I’m truly sorry." His voice was soft as he spoke and I realized that this had been on his mind for a while now.

"Don’t think like this, Jason. It wasn’t your fault. If anything, it’s my fault. I remember you asking me to leave that man and his family alone but I didn’t."

"The one who got married to your dumb friend because of her money, right?" He asked and I rolled my eyes.

"It’s Raya and she’s not dumb..,"

"But she is. She even blamed you for trying to ruin her wedding on purpose. She’s a snake and you should definitely leave her to her fate and stop being friends with her." He continued and I bit at the inside of my lips before nodding. He was right, I’ll have to admit at this point that Raya is a lost cause and that it’s also time for me to finally move on from her.

"Let’s get moving!" Kenny called out after he was done packing all their personal stuff which had been clustered here since when Jason got admitted.

"I feel strong as ever and now, I’m gonna go after that bastard Alex, firstly..." Jason began and I cleared my throat and held a hand up.

"Um, I don’t think that’s gonna be possible because I killed him before I could escape." I revealed and my mates gawked at me in clear shock.

"You did??!" Kenny echoed out and I nodded vigorously.

"That’s sick, wow!"

"How did it happen?" Jason asked and I gave them a description of how the whole thing happened. By the time I was done, they were more concerned about the fact that I’m currently alive despite all my blood being extracted, and the lack of a scar over my chest.

"You feel it around him too, right? The powerful aura." Kenny nudged Jason’s shoulder as he spoke and Jason hummed while nodding.

"Yeah, I feel it too." Jason admitted and I was briefly stunned while trying to figure out what they meant.

"You can now feel something inside you that aids your decisions, and you teleported here. You’ve definitely changed and now somehow, you can use magic, a gift which is believed to have been lost." Jason continued and it felt like his words were finally making all the changes I’ve been to start to fully Dawn over me.

"Wow." I blurted, feeling a little scared as I scratched at my chest. Jason took my hand in his and squeezed.

"Now, now, there’s no need to panic. This is clearly a good thing. You were able to teleport here. You were able to save me. This is definitely something really good, yeah?" He continued and I felt the nerves insure me start to ebb away.

"We’ll just later try to understand where the root is from, how it came about and all. And that might be hard since we don’t know where you’re from." He revealed. "Anna told us you guys weren’t related." She revealed and my mouth hung open in immense shock.

"WOW." I muttered. Suddenly, all that I experienced in her hands made complete sense.

"Where’s she anyway? That bitch." Jason bit out and I laughed a little.

"Alex killed her, for reasons unknown to me." I revealed and they were quite shocked.

"WOW," Kenny sighed out. "That’s sad, considering she betrayed us for him."

I clicked my tongue a little. "We definitely have a lot to catch up on." I breathed out and they both nodded, agreeing with me.

"Even with Alex dead, his men are not gonna be spared. They’d all feel my wrath." Jason bit out as we began to leave the ward.

"Including Ace?" Kenny asked and I stiffened just as Jason frowned.

"Who’s Ace?"

"A dude that helped me escape when he could have turned me in. He’s just a kid and we’re not gonna hurt him." I said just as the door got pushed open before I could get to it. In the doorway stood the doctor, and she almost had a heart attack on seeing Jason on his feet, fully hale.
