"You don’t know anything about me, apart from my name and where I work, that is." I pointed out to Kenny seated across from me at the table by the window.

After texting a lot last night, I offered to bring along his shirt when he asked if we could meet up. We were currently in a restaurant that wasn’t so packed. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and comfortable and the food tasted really good as well.

"But I can definitely get to know you, no? That was what I had in mind." He responded with a small pout and I sighed. The cute sound made my heart constrict a little in my chest.

I sipped from my wine as I regarded him from underneath my lashes. He was in a black jeans jacket that hugged his lean muscles and the scent he was emitting felt quite nice to my omega.

I’d never admit it to him but before I got to wash his shirt, I pressed the material against my nose and took a deep inhale, which I instantly felt guilty about. Although right now, I was thinking about how his scent would make my nest feel so much nicer. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

"Kenny..." I finally began after shoving those ridiculous thoughts out of my mind. He arched a brow, patiently waiting for me to continue.

"I don’t know about this to be honest." I admitted quietly before ducking my head and letting out a small sigh.

Kenny remained silent, giving me all the time to process my feelings.

"I don’t think this thing that’s about to happen between us is supposed to happen." I admitted after a little while and then I glanced up at him.

He had the expression of a kicked puppy on his face which I might have laughed at if the atmosphere wasn’t a little tense right now.

"Can I ask why you believe this?" He finally asked, voice soft but deep and I suppressed a small shudder as I cleared my throat and sat up straighter.

"I’m pregnant." I responded flatly, watching as a confused expression settled across his face.

"But... I’m aware of that and... and I still want this." He gestured between us as he spoke and I’d be lying if I claim his admission didn’t make my heart flutter right now.

I pushed my hair out of my face and let out a small, shaky breath.

"I- Kenny, I don’t think that’s logical." I forced myself to respond and he frowned.

"Why?"

I rolled my eyes this time. "Because... I’m pregnant for another man. You don’t even know how that happened."

He took a gulp of his drink and was silent for a few minutes before speaking.

"I don’t think I care that you’re pregnant for someone else, but I do care that you’re pregnant. I care and would do my best to take care of you throughout– if you’ll let me." He began, leaning forward. "And I’m definitely curious about how someone this good looking and sweet isn’t currently trapped with a really possessive alpha that would be ready to guage my eyes out for just looking at you. But... I figured it would be insensitive and ridiculous of me to ask you this, because I believe this is something you’d willingly share whenever you’re comfortable enough."

I let out a long breath once he was done speaking, geeking multiple emotions rush through my insides at the same time.

"You definitely do have your way with words." I finally breathed out and he laughed softly.

"I try my best." He admitted before leaning back again. "But I was being very honest though." He added and I gawned on my bottom lip as I stared down at my plate of food, the exact food which Kenny suggested I try with a confident certainty that I was gonna love it, and I did love it.

"Are you doing all this because you feel pity for me?" I blurted out before I could stop myself and his eyes bulged from shock. I stared down at my food again while various feelings swirled through my head.

I hated being a pity case. I knew Raya mainly took me in because of pity and I never want to be in a situation like that whereby someone would be drawn to me because of pity ever again.

"Why would you think that?" He ended up responding with his eyes still wide open, and then he proceeded to swear to me that pity was the last reason why he was doing anything right now. I felt shitty for asking that question, but it was something I really needed to know.

"I don’t think you’re doing this out of pity." I finally admitted. "You have a really honest energy, and I don’t know how to explain that."

His cheeks colored a little this time.

"I can’t give you a definite answer yet. I hope that’s fine with you." I continued. "It’s just that... I’m just getting my life together, and I still don’t think getting into something serious while being pregnant is reasonable or logical. So..."

Kenny hummed. "I honestly get where you’re coming from and I respect your decision. However, we can still be friends and hang out every now and then, right?"

My eyes lit up and I felt my heart lighten up even more. I had thought he wouldn’t want anything to do with me again but that was still not the case, at least not yet.

"Of course!" I ended up responding, flashing him a genuine . "We can definitely be friends.

Kenny drove me home. His car was cozy, warm and was filled with his warm scent which was slowly wrapping around me.

"So, can you tell me a bit about you?" I asked, glancing at him for a moment. He was controlling the wheel and ozzing so much confidence, which was really attractive. He had an amazing side profile as well.

"For one, I’m twenty two years old." He admitted and my eyes widened in shock.

"You’re younger than me?" I blurted out and his cheeks flushed a little.

"Is that a problem for you?" He asked tentatively and I realized that he might be a little insecure about that. His age had shocked me because of his maturity level, but that definitely wasn’t a problem for me at all.

"Of course not!" I responded. "This just means now I’m gonna baby you from now on." I informed him and he let out a long groan that made me dissolve into laughter.

After bidding him goodbye at the door, I unlocked my door and stepped into my apartment, with a smile still dancing across my face. I thoroughly enjoyed tonight, and I wasn’t sure I’ve had this much fun in ages.

However, the smile instantly dried up as soon as I noticed a figure sitting at the edge of my bed.

"Well hello there, sweet Rory." Trevor’s sickening voice drawled just as my mouth fell open in utmost shock.
