My mouth fell open in shock as I kept staring at the knife. She held it out even more and I slowly reached for it.

"It’s got me?" I asked, still in shock and the queen mother nodded while humming.

"Of course, child. It’s my gift to you. It contains a special spell that’s gonna kill hin at once." She explained and I cupped, suddenly feeling unsure.

"But- but now he’s so powerful and I don’t think I’ll ever get this close to him before I can stick this knife into him." I explained and the queen shook her here before pointing at the mirror still showing Alex wrecking havoc.

"That’s what he’s gonna become in the future if he’s not stopped, not what he already is. The blood he took from you is yet to fully marinate into his system so you’ll still be able to take him out." She explained and I slowly nodded as realization dawned on me.

"Thank you so much for this. I really appreciate this." I spoke up next, feeling genuinely thankful to her. She ended up sighing before leaning into her throne.

I let my eyes wander around for a bit and when I glanced back at her, she had her brows arched as she spoke.

"Are you contemplating staying back? You can still change your mind now, unlike when you end up returning back to earth, at that point, you won’t be able to undo what you’ve done." She informed me and I shrugged a shoulder.

"Perhaps if I didn’t have people I love back in my world then I’d have considered staying back." I told her she she sighed again.

"I’ll even let you stay here with me in this palace," she suggested and I shook my head politely before offering her a remorseful smile.

"You’re too kind, Queen mother. But I’ll really, really like to return back." I said this time and she finally nodded in understanding before waving me off.

"Alright, son. I’ve heard you loud and clear. Just knkw what on returning back to earth, you won’t remember anything that happened here. It would all be like a dream." She explained and I nodded slowly, already starting to feel eager at the prospect of returning back finally.

"So I can’t come visit?" I asked and she laughed while shaking her head.

"No, child. No visits. It’s for the safety of kingdom." She explained and in a way, I understood her perfectly. People on earth ate greedy and I won’t put it past them to try ruining this thing should they stumble upon it.

"I’ll get you a portion. Once you’re dropped off at the point you were picked up from, you’ll get transported back to earth automatically, and you’ll return to your old life." She explained and I almost cried from relief and gratitude. She did something with her fingers and a small vial appeared in the air, which she flicked towards me and I instantly grabbed and held it to my chest just as she began to speak this time.

"This is what you’re drink once you get back to the shore. After you drink all the content, you’ll get taken back to earth." She explained before waving her fingers in the air and a rope appeared in the air. She pulled on it and a bell instantly went off, startling me to the core. In the next moment, a large door opened and two people came in and bowed, and I realized they were her servants. She asked them to prepare a feast for me but I gently reminded her that I didn’t have the time for that. I only want to return back as fast as I could.

Jason instantly appeared in my mind the very next moment and I bit on my bottom lip while watching as the queen mother instructed the servants to pack some food for me to share with my new friends and I realized she knew I hadn’t cone here alone.

"What woukd you have done if I hadn’t assisted you when you were disguised as that old woman?" I asked once we were alone again and the Queen mother snorted out a laugh.

"I’d have left you to keep wandering and wandering till you’d end up walking right into my pot, then I’d cook and eat you." She said casually and my eyes widened as I gaped at her in horror. She rolled her eyes and giggled after a few minutes, assuring me that she was joking with me. But I suddenly didn’t know what she’d have done to me if I hadn’t chosen to help her out.

I stepped forward and cleared my throat awkwardly till she was staring at me again, and then I tentatively spoke.

"I’d like to ask for a favor." I began and she leaned forward, nodding for me to proceed.

"Can you... I need your help." I began, but still unsure of how to word my request. The request was about Jason. I could feel that something had happened to him and I was very scared of what I might meet on returning back to earth.

"One of my mates is... hurt, and he- he might even be dead. Is there..." I trailed off to exhale slowly. "Is there a portion you can help me with? That could help him or bring him back to life if he’s indeed dead? Because he’s undoubted hurt because of me, and I just feel so... so guilty, so... please..." I trailed off when my chest began to hurt too much and the queen mother was silent as the minutes began to pass my and I began to wonder if I had crossed a line.

She had her eyes closed and I remained silent till she blinked them open and focused on me again.

"My child... there’s no need to worry, okay?" She began and my breath caught in my throat. "Love would end up saving the day, just keep this in mind." She continued and even though I wasn’t fully sure of what she meant, something within me urged me to listen to her and stop worrying any longer, and so I nodded as I exhaled.

"Okay, Queen mother."

When I stepped through the large gates, my new friends were waiting for me and they all engulfed me tightly that tears quickly sprang to my eyes because they barely knew anything about me but were still willing to help me out, then I instantly felt shitty for briefly thinking that they set me up at one point in the desert when I was relentlessly searching for the queen mother.

"How did it go??" Ella asked eagerly and I held up the vial to her, quickly explaining the important bits that happened and they all hooted and congratulated me, making me feel really warm in the chest.

When they all saw the food packed for me and my friends, they grew more excited and all dug into it as we began to travel to the shore where I’d depart from them at. As we travelled this time, I recounted all that happened in details to them and they were very impressed and spooked because they all admitted that they’d have failed that test. That made me chuckle as we all talked and talked.

On finally getting to the shore, I felt a bittersweet feeling because these guys all seemed like cool people who’d make amazing friends. We all hugged really tightly and all cried a little. As we began to exchange good byes, they all joined their magic together and forged a necklace for me, and Ella wrapped it around my neck.

"We’ll always be with you in here." She whispered and we hugged super tightly.

After that, I drank the content of the vial, and everything went pitch black, but not before a few words echoed through my mind.

"Goodbye my sweet child, and good luck."

That was the queen mother’s voice.

When I came to, I gasped as I sprang into a sitting position. My chest heaved over and over again as I glanced around to try to figure out where I currently am. With another gasp, I realized that I was on the table where I had died on.

My hands were untied and I hastily batted at my chest, checking for a wound there but nothing was there. I felt very strong and healthy. The hose I remember Alex connecting to my chest laid on the ground, and I tried to figure out what actually happened and how I was alive right now.

At the side of the table when I attempted to alight, was Anna’s dead body and I gasped again.

As things slowly began to return to my mind, I got off the table and closed Anna’s open eyes. She had bled to death and Alex, who had shot her when she threatened to kill me, hadn’t bothered to clean her up. More memories rushed through my head and as memories from the ocean, of me going on an adventure with four people, and meeting a queen, I began to wonder what the hell that meant.

I randomly patted my pocket and on feeling something there, I tugged it out and dropped the object in shock and horror.

It was a knife, with a crystal hilt.
