Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Jason still didn’t want to leave, but after I threatened to really call the police on him, he finally turned around and left, while clearly angry. And that only made me more pissed.

Did he seriously expect me to willingly let him into my house? He seriously thought that I’d eagerly invite him in because I so badly want to have a conversation with him?

I was fuming when I turned away from the screen after watching him leave and Kenny settled his hands on my shoulders, massaging the knots there while also wearing a grim expression on.

"He seemed like a real piece of work." Kenny sighed out and I couldn’t agree more. I didn’t know anything personal about Jason. Back then, I had been desperate for a place to be hidden at, which was definitely why I let a guy this problematic to knock me up. I let out a long sigh, suddenly feeling drained again.

"He is. I hate him so much." I mumbled, my mind traveling back to the moment a disgusted look crossed his face on realizing that we were fated mates. I hadn’t even realized those existed till that very moment, right before he cruelly rejected me. So what the fuck does he want with me now?

"He’s gone now, thankfully. But if he returns, we’ll really call the police." Kenny finally said and I nodded weakly as he stirred me into the house. Once in the sitting room, he sank down on the couch and I snuggled beside him, curling my legs underneath me.

"You don’t have work to complete?" I asked, referring to the project he was previously working on in his office. He snorted and waved me off.

"I can take care of that later." He assured me, tugging me against his side even more and the breath slowly eased out of me while a purr bubbled in my throat. I took in a lungful of Kenny’s scent and I felt myself growing lightheaded a little while my omega relaxed inside of me. Kenny was gently kneading my shoulders and that was further relaxing me.

He leaned down and brushed a soft kiss against my head, but before he could say anything, Niko approached us, a pleased expression on his cute face as he came to a stop before Kenny and I.

"Dad, are you busy? I wanted to ask you something beforehand, remember?" He asked, and then he solely frowned.

"Are you sad?" He sniffed the air, and then he touched my hand. "Why are you sad?"

He turned towards Kenny next. "Kenny, why is dad sad?" He asked and I watched as Kenny ruffled his hair.

"Rory isn’t sad, furry. he’s just stressed out." Kenny explained to him and he pouted cutely.

"Oh. Perhaps I’d come back later for the question then." He turned towards me this time and I shook my head as I sat up, reaching for his cheek to slightly stroke it.

"You can ask me your question, baby. I’m just a little bit stressed out and Kenny is trying to make me feel better. Thank you for worrying about me."

He smiled, clearly pleased and then he nodded.

"Okay then. So I wanted to ask you if you think I was a normal alpha or if there’s something wrong with me." He revealed and my eyes widened, prompting me to sit up even more.

"Honey, why are you... did someone tell you that you aren’t normal? Was it at school?" I was already worked up and anger was starting to grow within me. I was very protective of my child and I was ready to raise hell for him.

He nodded slowly and I suddenly felt the urge to kill. Beside me, Kenny leaned forward, but he was still massaging my shoulders.

"Who said something? Did you tell your teacher? What did..." I was still speaking when Kenny gently cut me off, urging me to breathe a few times.

Then he asked Niko to slowly explain what happened.

"At school, I made a boy cry. I didn’t do it on purpose, I just- I just screamed at him when he wouldn’t leave me alone, and my voice got sharp and unrecognized, then everyone fled away from me. When the teacher arrived, she stood at a far distance from me like... like I was some freak with a contaminated disease." He explained and I frowned, feeling beyond confused.

"What?! I’m gonna have to visit the school tomorrow! Why would they do that?!" I demanded, chest tight with anger while Kenny tugged Niko into his laps and hugged him tight. Niko relaxed against him, because he trusted Kenny with his life.

"I was scared. I don’t know what happened. I don’t want people to be afraid of me." He mumbled quietly before pulling away to peer into Kenny’s eyes. "Why do you think they were scared, Kenny? You’re an alpha too, right? Do people get scared of you as well?"

He turned towards me. "Dad, are you scared of Kenny?"

"What? Of course not. Kenny is the sweetest alpha ever, and you’re just like him."

I reached for his hand and squeezed firmly. "You’re not a freak, okay?"

"Rory is right, Niko. You’re a good alpha and no one is afraid of you. I believe it’s just a misunderstanding and we’re gonna come have a talk with that teacher of yours, okay?" Kenny paused.

"And it’s wrong to scream at your classmates, okay? You’d have to apologize to him tomorrow." Kenny continued and Niko frowned.

"But I didn’t do anything wrong. I wanted to study but he was disturbing me." Niko argued and Kenny hummed.

"That was still not the right thing to do. Next time, it’s best to report to your teacher instead. Okay?"

We hadn’t visited grandma Nini in five days, and that was because of Jason.

But I couldn’t stay away any longer without feeling guilty, which is why Kenny and I are heading to the hospital today.

"What if he’s in there?" I asked and Kenny scowled.

"Then I really might turn into a barbaric alpha." He said seriously and I chuckled softly.

We brought another flower along today and I instantly laid it by the side of the bed once inside the ward. Grandma Nini was still in a coma and I keep hoping she ends up surviving this.

When the door opened after about ten minutes, we expected it to be the doctor who told us he’d be back minutes ago.
