The truck was moving over rocks when I jolted awake, throwing me sideways and a sharp jolt of pain rushed into my side.

I was quick to clasp my hand over my mouth to quickly muffle the scream that tore past my lips. My sides began to throw almost immediately and so did every inch of my back.

How long has this truck been driving? How long did I end of sleeping? Two questions which I didn’t have an answer to.

I was scared of even breathing too sharply to prevent my huffing spot from being revealed. I remained frozen in the same spot, in between two stuffy luggages while the truck drove into potholes after potholes.

Where was this truck heading to?

I silently asked myself while gripping my hands tightly. I didn’t know its destination and I have to make sure I don’t get caught by the driver at all means. Should that happen, I’d undoubtedly be dead meat because the driver would undoubtedly take me back to Alex. And that would only mean one thing– death.

I let out a long sigh and blinked a couple of times to stop myself from giving into the urge to cry. I wanted to cry, to sob, to break down and scream my lungs out, but I knew I couldn’t afford to do that, and also because crying was undoubtedly only gonna make things worse for me, it wasn’t gonna help my situation in any way.

And so, I remained in that same spot, arms wrapped around myself as I kept hoping that I would end up getting to where I won’t have to face suffering again.

When it began to rain, the cold felt like it was about to tear into my skin. My shirt felt too thin, my skin felt too light to shield my insides and bones from the onslaught of the cold. As the rain poured in waves, completely drowning me and blinding my eyes, even though the urge to cry came over and over again, I still refused to give into it.

However, when thunderstorms began to strike the clear sky, the first teardrop rolled down my cheek, mixing with the rain instantly.

I was scared shitless of thunderstorms. To be in one right now was so terrifying, because I was all alone in this tiny spot, and because I couldn’t afford to scream or cry out from fright, I had to hold every sound in at all cost. The only thing I could do was to press my hands over my mouth while tears poured down my cheeks, limbs shaking from fright and cold.

I let out a stuttered sob before catching myself, and then I swore within myself that should I survive this, should I end up leaving this entire thing alive, then I was gonna make him pay for putting me through so much suffering one way or the other.

With that thought in mind, I remained in the storm until the rain slowly ceased, till I fell unconscious.

When I blinked my eyes open this time, the truck was still moving, my clothes were still wet as well, and I was confused between if it hadn’t been long since I passed out since my clothes were still wet, and that the rain had fallen again after I fell unconscious.

Where the fuck is this truck driving to?

I silently asked myself as I glanced around the darkened night. I couldn’t make things out clearly, but I could see a few people walking around.

As if the truck read my mind moments ago, it slowled to a stop before finally stopping.

At once, my heart flew into my throat and I grew extremely tense, eyes darting around and ears ringing from how fast my heart was racing.

I needed to be off the truck before I get discovered!

I told myself as I dragged my tired limbs and began to crawl to the edge of the back. A sound echoed around me from the sound of my knee pressing into the truck too sharply and I cursed underneath my breath and hastily jumped down, wincing and biting down on my lips because I fell on my ankle and a sharp pain shot through my leg, all the way to my hips.

The sound of the driver’s side of the truck getting opened made me tense up, my heart accelerating even more as I dragged myself to a kneeling position, and then I hastily crawled underneath the truck. The driver was standing behind the truck right now, I could see his legs right now, a few inches away from my face.

After heaving out a long sigh and glancing around, I carefully crawled out from the other side of the truck. The road in front of me was empty and I rose to my feet, ignoring the feeling of pain shooting through different spots of my body as I hastily hobbled away as quietly and fastly as I could.

I didn’t stop walking even though I was sure I had created enough distance between the truck and I, because I was scared shitless and I could still vividly remember how the guards had caught me minutes after I exited Jason’s house.

Pain was shooting through my ribs, my hips, my legs, my arms, back and head. But I refused to stop walking, refusing to give into the pain tearing through my limbs no matter what. The thought of Alex’s guards suddenly emerging and dragging me back to Alex was all the motivation I needed to keep going. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

My limbs rattled and shook as I walked, the night air was cold and after getting soaked in a heavy thunderstorm, cold must have settled underneath my ribs because I was shivering uncontrollably as well, but I refused to stop.

No one thankfully gave me any attention, everyone minded their business, which was exactly what I needed right now.

However, after taking two more steps, I suddenly couldn’t move. I tried forcing my limbs to comply, but it only gave out underneath me, and as I crumbled on the ground, even though I desperately clung onto consciousness, pitch darkness was quick to pull me underneath.

The first thing I noticed on blinking my eyes open was that I was in a warm, pastel blue room, and on a bad, with a needle in my vein.

The first thing a woman who looked like a nurse said to me shocked me to the very core.

"You’re pregnant."
