My heart was pounding hard as I stumbled out of the restroom and I had to lean against the nearest wall before I collapse, my legs felt extremely wobbly and my stomach was queasy as a bunch of emotions rushed through me at the same time.

What the hell happened in there?

That question danced around the front of my mind, but that was a question that I didn’t have an answer to. I didn’t understand a single thing that transpired in there. My head thump against the wall and I squeezed my eyes tightly, trying not to think about anything, but the image of Jason materialized in my head and I felt myself flinch before I pushed off the wall and began to make my way back into the hall.

My eyes instantly darted around as I searched for Rory. I felt on edge and I wanted to leave this party for somewhere quiet as fast as possible. It was almost hard to breathe and even harder to not breathe walk right into somewhere. I felt extremely disoriented, I felt like I got dunked into a bucket of ice water when I least expected it.

After we got this particular invite from the wife of the celebrant, coming in contact with Jason was the last thing we both expected to happen tonight. What was even worst was that we didn’t see him in the hall. I went off up the restroom and there he was just as I was washing my hand.

Fucking Jason. Fucking bastard.

He didn’t have a scent. I know this because he stood so close to me when he gripped my shirt tightly and slammed me against a wall, but that didn’t change anything. All he did was growl and I literally melted against him. I didn’t know what to call that or make of that. That was something that had never happened to me in my entire life.

I might sometimes be into Alphas, but I could control myself around them at all times.

So what the hell happened bsck in the restroom?

Granted, it had only been a fleeting moment, but it was more than enough to get me fucked up, it was more than enough to make me start questioning a lot of things. It had been enough to instantly make my wolf roll over and expose its belly in submission.

I felt a disgusted feeling engulfed me. My wolf had never reacted that way to another alpha before, usually, it takes find for my alpha to get quite comfortable with my alpha exes in the past. The fact that my wolf had willingly submitted to Jason in that fleeting second had been so startling, it had my whole head messed up.

I hated him. I hated Jason so much. I didn’t usually hate a lot of people, but there was just something about Jason that itched at my skin. At first, I thought it was a little feeling of insecurity because Jason was everything that I wasn’t, and sometimes, I tend to get into my head too much. However, now I wasn’t sure if it was more than that.

When I sighted Rory, I closed the distance between us and reached for his hand. As soon as he noticed me, his brows furrowed and I knew he most have already noticed the look in my eyes.

"Can we leave now?" I asked quietly and he didn’t argue, he only squeezed around my hand and didn’t let go of me as he dragged me along with him to bid a few people goodnight, and then we were existing the party and making our way into the new car he got for me with Jason’s body.

He suggested driving and I easily gave in because I wasn’t sure I could control the steering wheel properly tonight.

As we drove home, I felt myself start to relax as Rory’s scent engulfed every inch of my senses. He was pumping out soothing scents and it was helping me relax even more.

He didn’t say anything, he didn’t ask me any questions, he only focused on driving and that was what I liked about Rory. Whenever he sensed that something was wrong, he usually just wait till you come to him whenever you’re ready to explain what’s wrong to him.

I felt a little guilt eat at my inside, slomg with immense confusion.

Guilt because that feeling I got for Jason almost felt like cheating in a way, even though nothing actually happened and it ended with me punching him in the face.

After we got home, as we made our way into the house, I accepted his outstretched hand and let him guide me into the house. Once inside, we undressed in comfortable silence and took a shower together. After changing into comfortable clothes, Rory made a nest while I watched with a little bit of longing in the middle of my chest. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

When he invited me into it, a weight suddenly lifted off my chest as I crawled into the bed to lay against his chest, right in the middle of blankets and pillows and clothes carrying a mixture of our scents. He was stroking my hair and kissing my forehead at any given chances and after about thirty minutes, I cleared the throat and attempted to speak.

"I ran into Jason at the party." I finally admitted and Rory’s mouth fell open in clear shock. I knew I was gonna tell him what actually went down at the restroom because we never keep anything from each other since we got together. Which was what prompted me to launch into a detailed explanation of what actually happened in the restroom between Jason and I.

Once I was done, Rory didn’t look angry, he was just worried about me and if I was alright.

"I’m just a little shaken up." I admitted quietly and he almost strangled me with his next hug.

After that, he swore that he was gonna give Jason a piece of his mind and warn him to stay away from me, but I managed to convince him to not do that because after the weird reaction he emitted from me tonight, I didn’t want any more encounter with Jason, I wanted him far away from me as much as possible

I sat up and regarded Rory carefully as I spoke. "You’re not mad that I reacted that way to him?" I asked because I wanted to be very certain and Rory frowned at me first before he realized what I was referring to, and then he snorted and rolls his eyes.

"Of course not! It wasn’t your fault or anything, and I think it’s just your biology. Your wolf definitely had a reason for reacting to him like that, and that’s out of your control so don’t feel bad. Perhaps this is just a way of your body reminding you that you need an alpha after going years without having any intimate contact with one, especially since you already do so in the past." He explained and even though it sounded quite logical, i still wanted to disagree.

"But I don’t want any alpha. I only want you and want to always be with you." I muttered and he brushed a kiss against my lips before tugging me into his arms and holding me tight.

"I want to always be with you too."

"Aw, pooks! Missed me?!" I asked as I picked Nikolai up as soon as the door open to reveal him and my mother in the door way. My mother came over yesterday to pick him and Anna up to come spend the night here since Rory and I had a party to attend, said party which I ran into Jason at.

"I did! A whole lot! Especially because of the game we were supposed to break in together." Niko exclaimed and I snickered before smacking a kiss against his cheek. As soon as he sighted his dad, he waved heartily at him and Rory beamed, a look of genuine happiness in his eyes as he leaned up on his tiptoes to kiss his son’s cheek.

"I hope you didn’t give grandma too much trouble this time?" Rory demanded sternly, referring to my mother and Niko eagerly nodded, but everyone knew he was lying. He was a handful, more than a handful, but everyone loved him even more because of that, including myself. I loved Nikolai so much, I literally wstdhed him grow and raised him alongside his father, so I see him as a son like I see Anna as a daughter.

"Where’s Anna?" I asked after settling Niko down.

"She’s in her room, and she’s mad at me." Niko admitted and I arched a brow at him in surprise. He and Anna were joint at the hips so this was new to me.

"Why’s she mad at you?" I asked as we all began to head deeper into the apartment. Rory and my mother were already talking and laughing together, my mother had come to love Rory as a child as well and that made me so happy.

Before Niko could say anything, Rory’s phone rang and he accepted the call. After about a minute, the call ended, and then a smile broke out across his face.

"Grandma Nini is awake!" He announced happily.
