ONE MONTH LATER

I didn’t get shocked this time when Kenny’s arms draped around me from behind like I usually get when he first began to do that, but now I was pretty much used to it. But that didn’t mean it didn’t make my heart flutter because it still managed to do.

"What are you doing?" He murmured against the side of my thrust and I shivered against his chest a little at the small vibration his voice sent down my spine.

"I’m trying to make a little treat for Anna, I promised her I was gonna do it this week." I explained just as Kenny’s hands slid around my sides, massaging the skin as he went and I exhaled slowly, instantly feeling a little relieved.

With my belle growing even more, most of the strain went to my back and waist, and that made it hurt even more.

My pregnancy had just a month left before the baby arrived, and frankly, I couldn’t wait for that day to come. It felt like I’ve been pregnant forever.

"Don’t stress yourself unnecessarily." He berated gently before pressing a kiss against my chin, and then he pulled away and tried steering me away from the counter in the next moment.

"It’s not stress, Kenny." I argued but he only rolled his eyes, a stern look across his face. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

"Did you forget what the doctor said? She said to avoid any kind of stress. You’re to just keep resting till the baby is ready to come out." He reminded me and I frowned at him.

"But I want to work! I’m tired of resting." I sighed out and he cooed before reaching down to brush my hair out of my face, a grin tugging at his lips.

"You’re so cute." He cooed, right before he loosened the apron from my body.

"But no cooking for you." He continued, steering me towards the island but I refused to move.

"I want to cook! I won’t even do anything stressful, I promise." I tried again but he refused, and he kept steering me till I reluctantly let him lead me towards the table.

He helped me onto one of the seats and I frowned at him as he went off to continue what I was doing. After a few moments, I slumped against the chair, feeling a little restless.

That was why I began to try baking some treats to send that restless feeling away, but now it was back to its full intensity.

"This is unfair, Kenny. You’re treating me like a baby. I’m literally older than you." I tell him, determined to not pout at him right now. He laughed a little before walking towards me and ruffled my hair.

"You’re only older by like a few months, Rory. Besides, it’s my job to take care of you." He reminded me and I only frowned harder at him, he laughed even more before leaning beside the counter and asking me if I wanted to mix the flour from this position so that I could also be busy.

That instantly made me grin as I nodded eagerly. He snagged my chin and brushed a kiss against my lips before assuring me he’d be right back with the mixing bowl.

He was perfect in every aspect.

We were all splayed across a blanket and the ocean waves were still in the background. The entire atmosphere was tasting of slight sea salt and the air was blowing a bit of sand around, but it wasn’t enough to be an inconvenience.

"It’s so tasty." Anna announced as she took a huge bite of the cake which Kenny ended up baking, with only a little assistance from me in the form of mixing the flour together with the eggs.

Kenny had been treating me like an egg since the last mouth and I knew that was because we had grown even closer in that duration. He now saw himself as my alpha and my protector, hence why he had now grown extremely protective of me.

"Rory made it for you just like he promised." Kenny announced to Anna who instantly beamed, her little face scrunching up in happiness. Sha was the reason we were here right now, because she had wanted to visit the beach for the last two weeks.

I’ve seen a lot of Anna since I began to spend more and more time with Kenny. I spend a lot of time at his house just like he does mine. This thing that I currently have with Kenny was beyond perfect and I’d never trade it for the world. The hugs, the kisses, the touches, the scenting, and so on... everything was so perfect and in all honesty, I was certain I was slowly falling in love with him.

Anna threw her hands around my neck and smacked a kiss against my cheek, a grin still across her face.

"You’re the best, Rory!" She gushed and I felt my heart clench up With so much emotions. Kenny had a pleased expression on his face when I glanced at him, but beside a word could be exchanged between us, Anna was bending till she was eye level with my protruded stomach.

"The baby is coming soon, right?" She asked curiously and I chuckled as I nodded.

"Yes, Anna."

"Is it gonna be a girl?" She asked next.

"I’m not sure yet. I refuse to find out yet." I explained and she frowned before bombarding me with thousands of questions at once.

"What are you gonna call the baby?" She asked and I shrugged before confessing to her that I was yet to find a name.

"Can I help you find one?!" She instantly asked and I laughed as I agreed.

Kenny and I watched her leave, and then he brushed a kiss against my palm which made my heart flutter.

The time passed by slowly but there was never a dull moment with Anna present.

Once we were ready to leave, I was taking the rolled up blanket to the car but before I could get the door open, someone came up behind me and clamped a hand across my mouth to muffle my scream.

Panic shrugged through me but in the next moment, something was being pressed against my nose and I ended up slowly losing consciousness.
