Disgust filled up my nose as soon as I alighted my car right here in Alex’s pack.

I haven’t been here in over five years, and this pack still looked and smelt like it did five years ago. I wasn’t supposed to be here, I was only here right now because of one thing.

Finding Rory the omega.

I could see the moment the guards outside Alex’s palace grew uneasy as soon as they sensed my presence, even before they recognized who I was.

It wasn’t hard to sense whenever an enigma was present, because our aura was like ten alphas’s presences combined together into one person.

Two guards flanked me as I walked towards the gate of Alex’s palace. By the time I stopped at the front, the guards were all trembling in their boots, eyes filled with unspeakable fear.

I knew they wouldn’t have it in them to stop me and so I easily walked past them into the palace, enjoying the gasps of fear that filled the air from guards as I kept walking forward.

This was one of the perks of being an enigma Alpha. Every normal alpha is automatically underneath you, and they know that.

A few guards were bold enough to block the path I was taking, but the spears they were currently pointing at me was shaking in their hands. I stared at them for a few moments before letting out a scoff that made them stumble backward a little. By the time I walked past their middle, they were too frightened and scared to stop me.

By the time I climbed the long flight of stairs it required to get to the actual entrance of the palace. I was already feeling beyond irritated. My skin felt tight and I’d rather be cocooned in my bedroom than be here right now.

I was grateful that the presence of my wolf was still strong even though he had gone dormant for now, but the problem was that If I don’t find my mate and get his forgiveness, my wolf’s presence would weaken and in no time, I’d no longer be seen or regarded as an enigma wolf, I’d simply become like a regular alpha. That thought pissed me off so much and I hastily shoved it out of my mind. I had other things to focus on right now. Like on the fact that I was gonna murder Alex today if he doesn’t provide my mate for me.

The sneaky bastard, I had a feeling he was keeping the omega captive here in his palace. The omega had been really scared of him and had dreaded the thought of getting married to him. I didn’t put it past him to have captured the omega as soon as he got found. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

My guards pushed the large doors open and I strode into the large throne room, head held high and shoulders squared. I knew my sheer essence was oozing off me in waves, people get the urge to bow and submit to me from merely being in my presence.

Alex wasn’t present here, and I quickly whipped out my phone and dialed his number. As soon as he accepted the call, I asked him to come to his throne room right now before ending the call.

After about two minutes, he arrived, appearing disheveled like he just finished having sex. Anger coursed through my veins and temporarily blinded me because I thought he was fucking my Rory.

My Rory?

Since when did I get this possessive?

I was on him the next moment, grabbing his shirt tightly and jerking him forward. But as soon as my nose flared and the scent of a woman filled my nose, most of the anger bled out of me at the confirmation that he hadn’t been fucking Rory like I had thought.

"The fuck is your problem? And why the hell are you here?! You come into my palace uninvited and do this? You stupid enigma!" Alex’s eyes were filled with anger as he gritted those words out and he tried shoving me off but my grip was tight on his shirt.

Alex and I grew up together. We were once best friends, and because we spent so much time together while growing up, he was already used to my enigma’s presence. Unlike other normal alphas, he could still stop himself from submitting to my wolf’s essence. But if I still want to make him submit to me, I could still effortlessly do so because even if he was already used to my enigma, my wolf was still superior to him no matter what.

"Rory. Where is he?" I questioned, voice calm and cold.

Alex stared at me for a few minutes before barking out a laugh.

"Wait... wait... don’t tell me you’re the one who ended up taking his virginity?

My skin crawled at the way he was speaking about my wolf right now and I snarled at him, grip tightening on his shirt.

"And so fucking what? Are you gonna do anything about it?" I asked in a low voice and he scoffed, eyes wearily sizing me up and I knew red had managed to bleed into my eyes at this point.

"The omega. Where is he? I know you’re holding him captive. Give him to me right now." I ordered in the next moment, chest starting to feel tight again.

"What?" He finally responded and I resisted the urge to punch him in the throat which would send him flying into the nearest wall.

"Where is he?!" I growled angrily and he flinched this time, and I could smell the fear bleeding into his rage right now.

"I dont know." He responded and I saw red just as my claws emerged, fangs getting bared. Alex’s eyes instantly widened and he shook his head from side to side, trying to shove me off him but it was pretty pointless right now.

"Where is my omega?" I asked and the confused look on his face was comical.

"Your omega? Is Rory... wait, what do you mean?"

"The omega is my mate, so where is he? I won’t repeat myself again." I gritted out angrily and Alex flinched again, eyes filled with so many questions before he finally shrugged.

"I don’t know, man. The omega isn’t here anymore." He revealed, rushing to add.

"He has ran away, and we’ve been unable to find him."
