The bedroom given to me was void of anything personal, but it was still exquisite. The bed was large and so soft and it was seriously calling out to me to come forth, but I ignored the call and faced other things instead.

After putting the clothes I brought along with me away, I headed into the bathroom with one of the ridiculously fluffy towels.

The shower was nothing but bliss, and I felt thoroughly cleaned and refreshed by the time I was done. I eyed the bathtub and promised myself that I was gonna get a very relaxing bath in there tomorrow. I’d make the best of all of this before I return back to my shabby one room studio apartment.

I ended up dressing in one of the shorts I brought with me. I’d have preferred to wear long pants instead since I’d be around someone once I leave this bedroom, but while showering, I realized that I have a bunch of swells around different spots on my legs which need attending to.

I paired the shorts with one of the shirts Kenny offered to me. It wasn’t just because he smelt so nice and my omega was smitten with his scent, it was also because it was way larger than mine which means it would feel more comfortable. The shirt was clean but it still smelled so much of him, and his scent engulfed me as soon as I slipped the shirt on, making me feel secure in a way. I knew it was ridiculous and I was tempted to pull off the shirt since I didn’t want to give him the wrong idea by letting him see me in it, since I’ve told him I didn’t want to get into anything with him for now.

For now, we’re nothing but friends.

But friends can wear each other’s shirts, right?

I ended up pulling off the shirt and slipping into something of mine before fluffing my hair and exiting the bedroom.

Kenny had a plate of assortment of fruits waiting in the kitchen by the time I emerged and I felt a little flustered as his gaze locked with mine before slowly dropping to rake down my body. My cheeks flushed and I averted my gaze as I closed the distance between us and took the seat opposite him over the island. I thought that was a great idea since I didn’t want his scent to mess with my head if I take the seat beside him, but now that I’m right in front of me, I realized that I’d have his gaze on my face throughout like I did back at the restaurant tonight and a small flutter gathered in my chest.

"My legs... injuries." I felt the urge to explain my reason for emerging with shorts to avoid sending the wrong idea. His eyes widened and he was rounding the island to crouch beside my seat.

"May I?" His eyes bored into mine as he spoke and I suddenly felt light headed as I nodded. When his hand touched my bare skin, I almost jumped off the seat. His large palms dragging against my pale skin sent shivers through my body and I bit on my bottom lip as he inspected my legs.

Most of them were swells from Trevor’s numerous kicks, and he ended up massaging them with an ointment. I held my breath till he was done, while my entire insides felt like jelly. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

"Take two of this." He handed me painkillers and I instantly took two pieces, handing it back to him and breathing out a note of thanks while I stretched out my legs underneath the island. My legs felt boneless and thoroughly massaged. I told him that and he laughed, revealing that he learnt it from his sister.

"I’m worried that he succeeded in hurting you like this. I think we should visit the hospital tomorrow." He revealed and my eyes widened.

"Just to do a full body checkup and to check on the baby, to ensure it’s fine." He explained and I felt warmth gather in my chest.

"Oh." I whispered and he hummed.

I tried protesting and assuring him that I was very fine, but he kept insisting till I finally gave in. I felt a little weirded out since I didn’t actually have the money for a check up, and I knew he’d cover the bills without questions, but I still felt weird letting him do stuff like this for me.

But I didn’t end up protesting any longer since I was a little worried about my baby and I’d like to confirm that it was fine. I end up promising myself to pay him back no matter what.

That night, I had the best sleep I’ve ever had in years. I didn’t even get to make a nest any more because Kenny and I spoke till sleep was heavy in my eyes. However, on waking up, I realized that I had one of his shirts against my chest, and I flinched away from the cloth while silently wondering if something was wrong with me.

We arrived at the hospital at around twelve noon, and Kenny was with me every step of the way at the hospital. We did a whole lot of tests and I knew the cost of the entire tests was gonna be thousands of dollars. At one point, I was certain that at one point, everyone believed he was my boyfriend.

He accompanied me into the room where I was apparently gonna see my baby for the first time.

"Are you sure you want me to come in there with you?" He asked and I nodded firmly.

"Of course!"

Kenny stood at my side as the doctor lattared a cold gel across my stomach before she began to move an object across the slicked skin.

"There’s your little baby." She finally gushed out, pointing at the screen, showing me my baby for the first time and tears of joy instantly sprang to my eyes, which Kenny ended up wiping off while beaming down at me and appearing more excited than myself.
