After thoroughly thinking a lot of things through, and after so much encouragement from Kenny, I agreed to accept half of the money Grandma Nini agreed to give me. I still disliked the fact that I was accepting it because it made me feel weird and like I was some sort of greedy person.

But I knew I had to be rational and realistic.

I was dead broke. I was living from hand to mouth. I was also expecting a baby soon. It was ridiculous for me to be offered money like this and to reject all of it, especially when the person offering it was offering it wholeheartedly and actually wanted me to accept it.

Kenny and I were splayed out on a lounge chair right there in his balcony and he was holding a glass of wine, while I was holding a glass of fruit juice.

"Cheers to becoming a millionaire." He called out and I snorted out a laugh as I clinked our glasses together and took a sip of my drink, enjoying the coldness of the liquid. I couldn’t even afford to get a fridge yet with the amount of money I’ve made from working as a waiter so far and that was because I was saving everything I could.

Being offered that kind of money really did happen at the most perfect time ever.

Kenny’s face was glowing beautifully as he grinned down at me and I felt my insides do a little flip while my heartbeat accelerated a little.

It’s been a week since I was here, a week since we scented on his couch. A week where things got incredibly heated between us, and I had grown so aroused and it would have been beyond mortifying if he hadn’t been aroused as well. That night as I laid in the bed of his guest room, I found myself squirming around because I still kept thinking about the scenting, which in turn kept me aroused and turned on throughout the night.

I was tempted to touch myself at one point but I ended up deciding against it and taking a shower instead because I felt like that might be a bit weird.

I avoided returning back here throughout the past week because of that scenting incident, because I was scared of what might happen between us whenever we’re alone again. We never spoke about that night, it was almost like it didn’t happen, but I was very certain it happened because that scenting ritual made his scent stick to my body for almost a week.

"So, what do you have in mind? You’re gonna invest in some things, right? To multiply your money and make more money." He spoke up as he took the spot beside me and I felt my spine stiffened as a whiff of his scent hit me in the face.

I coughed a little while nodding.

"I- of course! I’ve also been thinking of what I could do, you know? I wouldn’t want to just quit my job and be spending the money until it finishes, that’s just gonna be ridiculous." I explained and hummed with a nod.

"Of course. But you don’t have to pressure yourself. You deserve more than enough breaks." He informed me and I nodded slowly.

He asked me what I liked to do and after I mentioned taking care of children, he suggested that I start up a daycare program in a really large way."

"I think I need some sort of license for that." I blurted out and he hummed.

"I think so, but it definitely won’t take long to get. Perhaps a year or two. You can definitely start up something else, or just invest into somethings and just wait till after your child gets birthed, then you can go study for the certificate. What do you think?"

A shy smile was on my face and my heart was fluttering. He always speaks about my pregnancy like it was the most normal thing ever. He had never shown disgust over the fact that I was pregnant and alpha-less. In fact, he seems to desire me so much despite my pregnancy. But he was also very respectful and had never tried doing anything against my will.

To me, that was incredibly sexy.

"I think that’s a good idea." I admitted and he reached out and cupped my face. I felt my cheeks grow hot while my heart raced fast. His thumb grazed my cheek for a moment before sliding across my bottom lip, and I felt my insides instantly grow hot.

His eyes were drinking my face up and I could feel myself slowly melting into a puddle.

He leaned forward and my heart almost flew out of my chest while my grip on my glass of juice tightened.

The bell chose that moment to go off and my cheeks burned as we separated. He let out a fond huff as he exited the balcony, and I realized why he did that when he reemerged with his niece.

I smiled at her with an enthusiastic wave. "Hi, Anna! Do you remember me?"

She nodded eagerly and bounced over to me, pigtails framing her cute face.

"You know my name." She pointed out confidently and I stifled a laugh before explaining to her that her uncle was kind enough to let me know the name of a princess as prestigious as her and she let out a pleased crackle in response.

"What’s your name?" She inquired next.

"Rory." I tell her just as Kenny moved away from the doorway to the balcony area that he had been standing at for the past minutes.

Anna looked between us for a few moments, and then she leaned closer to me.

"Are you Uncle Kenny’s boyfriend?" She asked and my eyes widened while I tried wondering what made her think that. Before I could respond, Kenny was crouching beside her and reminding her to not be rude to his guest.

"But you never have anyone over, so I thought he was your boyfriend." She admitted with a cute pout and Kenny appeared like he wanted to disappear.

Kenny ended up explaining to her that we were just friends and he made her understand that she wasn’t supposed to ask me or other strangers questions like that. A pouty Anna ended up apologizing after Kenny asked her to, and then she went off to go change.

Kenny apologized on her behalf once we were alone, and we couldn’t meet each other’s eyes.

However when he went off to check up on Anna when we heard a crashing sound, I found myself dwelling on the fact that I didn’t actually mind the thought of being boyfriends with Kenny.
