After I confirmed my identity, the stranger informed me that Nini had a heart attack last night and is currently in the hospital. Since I was a part of her emergency contact, they decided to put a call through to me. In the past few years, I had grown even closer to her, which explains why she put me as a part of her emergency contacts.

"Alright. Thank you for calling. I’ll be on my way." I responded to the stranger and the call ended after that.

As I broke the news to Kenny, I wasn’t surprised by how broken he looked as well because we had all grown to love and adore Grandma Nini.

Kenny walked off to drop the flowers at the other side of the room and a frown pinched my forehead on noticing that someone was sitting in the chair beside the bed grandma Nini was laying in.
