Chapter 79

Jason’s pov

To say I was angry was an understatement.

I was extremely pissed right now. I’ve never felt this amount of humiliation in my entire life. An enigma alpha like me? Something like this has never happened to me before.

My cheek still stung from the slap Rory gave me a few moments ago, and as I watched him leave with the alpha who had provoked so much emotion within me, all I felt was stark red anger.

I gritted my teeth as I yanked my hands out of the people who had restrained me from completely beating the life out of that Alpha who Rory referred to as Kenny. If I hadn’t been stopped, I was certain I’d have beat him to death.

Granted, I hadn’t expected him to be a match for me. He wasn’t as big as I was. He wasn’t small, but he wasn’t big either. He had lean muscles and from one look at him, one wouldn’t have expected him to be able to pack a punch, but he packed a punch alright.

After I wasn’t allowed into Rory’s apartment a few days ago, I had begun to think of things that I could do in order to be able to have a conversation with Rory, because we needed to have a conversation so I could get him to forgive and accept me. Now, that wasn’t supposed to be hard or a big deal, but he didn’t want to have a conversation With me at all. After this fight With Kenny, I was starting to guess that he was the one behind Rory’s decision to not want to see me.

That made so much sense because if he wasn’t filling up Rory’s head with nonsense, Rory would have definitely instantly grabbed the opportunity to have a conversation with me. I mean, who wouldn’t though? I was a picture perfect alpha and everyone wanted to be with me. That made me feel beyond certain that the bastard Kenny was the one convincing Rory to not agree to have that conversation with me. I mean, of course the stupid alpha was gonna do that seeing as he was now dating Rory and wouldn’t want to lose him to me.

Perhaps I should request to have a conversation with that Kenny so I could assure him that I wasn’t interested in stealing Rory or whatever. I was only interested in breaking the stupid curse that’s over my wolf, then that would be all. But even the thought of having a conversation with Kenny alone was already making me start to feel angry all over again.

It’s been years since I’ve hated anyone like this. I usually don’t have enough time to actually hate people in the past when my life was still normal. But after it fell apart, I basically lost interest in almost everything, and that included the ability to hate people, because you need to give a fuck about people before you declare that you hate them. However, it seems like Kenny was breaking that record for me.

The people who held me back all filed out of the room and almost immediately, the doctor who tipped me off that Rory was here, emerged with a grim expression on. I lied when I claimed to Rory that our encounter here was a coincidence, it was the furthest thing from that. I had decided to rent an hotel closest to this hospital because I just believed that Rory would come by to pay my grandma a visit no matter what, then I got into a deal with the doctor who adamantly refused to give me Rory’s number, that all he needed to do was to tip me off whenever Rory showed up, in exchange for anything he favored.

"I wont be doing that again." He said firmly, lips thinned and I rolled my eyes in irritation

"How much do you need? Is it a connection? Name it." I said while massaging my forehead.

"You don’t understand, I can’t do that anymore and I don’t want payment for helping you out today. Consider it at the hospital since your grandma pays us a lot of money. I’d have been willing to keep up that deal and even benefit from you, but after how today ended, it seemed like Mr Rory really hates you, so... I just don’t know if I wanna get involved in this situation between you two, whatever it may be."

I let out an irritated scoff before knocking my shoulder against the doctor’s as I walked past him.

"Fucking pussy." I threw across my shoulder at him as I stepped out of the ward and closed the door after me.

I gave my friend an unimpressed look. We were currently face timing and he had an excited expression after I explained all that happened today to him. He was the only one aware of the situation of me rejecting my mate and then losing my wolf as punishment. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"I wished I was there to witness when he slapped you though." He guffawed and I rolled my eyes before downing the rest of my drink.

"That wasn’t funny, Malik." I said flatly but he only laughed harder.

"But that’s what actually makes it funny, the fact that you think it isn’t!" He snickered in amusement and I hummed. Malik and I worked together for almost a decade and could definitely pass off as best friends at this point.

"Are you gonna give me any advice or you’re gonna keep adding salt to my injury?"

"An injury which you inflicted upon yourself with yourself, mind you..." he snipped and i wished i could punch him through the MacBook.

"Okayy, for real. You said he’s like other omegas, right?" Malik asked and I nodded gruffly. All omegas were the same, Rory wasn’t any different.

After the slap he gave me today, I’ve decided that he was even worse.

"Why don’t you offer him money then? If he’s like other omegas, he definitely won’t be able to resist it."
