I was fucked.

Completely throughly and royally fucked over.

I massaged my forehead as I reached for my phone, wincing at the sharp light from the lit up screen. I’ve been cocooned in here for over a week, and I wasn’t sure I was ready to leave just yet.

Ever since my wolf suddenly wilted away, it had felt like a part of me disappeared along with it.

A disappointed exhale escaped my lungs as I read the text the leader of the third section of my security team had just sent me.

Of course they weren’t able to find him. No one has been able to. It’s been a week since I rejected my omega mate, and a week since my entire world turned upside down.

I flung my phone into the bed and headed into the bathroom to wash my face. My reflection made me recoil. I had lost so much weight in only a week, because I hadn’t been able to eat or sleep. It’s safe to say that I’ve now turned into a shadow of my former self.

Regret danced in my eyes, and for the hundredth time, I found myself wishing I hadn’t harshly rejected the omega the way I did.

For one, I hadn’t even counted on the fact that rejecting him was gonna have an effect on me, much less one this painful.

I let out a ragged sigh and exited the bathroom, collapsing into the bed once I was in the room once again. It was dark in the room, with the lights off and the curtains drawn up. The scent of the omega has almost faded away and that realization wrenched my gut. This was the room I had taken his virginity in, the room where I had experienced the best sex of my entire life– and it was really ironic that it was with an inexperienced omega.

From the onset, there had been something intriguing about the omega. A certain pull had led me to bring him along with me despite the fact that he could have been a thief. I should have known that the pull was actually the inactivated mate bond binding us together.

I was supposed to have him thrown out after he revealed who his fiance was– Alex, an enemy of mine who I hated so much. I should have sent him off by then and washed my hands off him. But of course I didn’t do that, because there had been something about him, and that was not including his ridiculously insanely pretty face.

He was gorgeous. Very gorgeous, so fucking pretty. Thoughts of him had refused to leave my head. Images of him trapped underneath my body that night flashed before my mind, images of his face contorted beautifully with pleasure.

That night was my undoing, and the morning after sealed my fucked up fate.

I shook my head to shake those thoughts off as I let out a long breath, and then I sat up before silently wondering if this was what I was gonna be doing for now on moving forward.

The reason why I had rejected him wasn’t because he wasn’t a woman, it was because I was already engaged to Isis, a princess from a powerful pack. The union was solely for politics, it was supposed to help my pack grow even further. I had rejected the omega without hesitation because the thought of having a fated mate was beyond revolting. I sighed and scrubbed my hand across my face, feeling beyond frustrated. I wanted to find the omega. Once I find him, I’d know what to do next. I’d probably apologize to him and offer him some money, that’s sure to make him instantly forgive me. Money is definitely gonna do the trick for me.

The only problem was finding him.

He had literally vanished into thin air.

I asked my butler who saw him out per my request that morning after I rejected him, if he knew the location the omega went, but my butler was of no help. He couldn’t even remember the direction Rory had gone.

Rory. I needed to find him. As fast as possible. The pack doctor who I summoned after the disappearance of my wolf made me lose consciousness, had pronounced me partially wolfless and had claimed my wolf would only fully return after my omega mate forgave me and chose to accept me as his mate.

The doctor explained that this only happened because my wolf already claimed the omega because he instantly knew Rory was its mate at a first glance. He also said my wolf had the power to choose to go dormant because my wolf wasn’t like other alphas’ wolves, mine was an enigma, which in other words, means that my wolf was way superior to other alpha wolves – my wolf was an alpha of alphas.

Right after I understood what was happening, I had instantly sent out my guards to find the omega, but they were unable to find him. I sent out my security team as well, and the results were the same. They were unable to find him. It was like he had disappeared from the face of the earth, and that was driving me crazy.

A part of me believed he was hiding away because he probably knew I was searching for him, and he wanted to make me chase him before he finally reveal himself, and that thought made me really irritated.

That night, I wasn’t able to sleep, as expected.

The next day, I decided to visit my enemy’s pack. I was gonna have to show up there even though I’ve vowed to never visit there ever again. That was the last place I had left to search in hopes of finding my mate there.

If I don’t find him there, then that means my entire life is beyond ruined.
