I hadn’t thought about Jason in a long while. In fact, I had gotten to forget most of his existence. But right now that he was here in front of me, all the memories of the past were hurriedly rushing into my head, making me feel a little dizzy.

"You okay, love?" Kenny asked, peering down at me with a small frown, his hand going around my shoulder and I instantly clutched his shirt and sucked in a deep lungful of his scent in order to try to regulate my racing heartbeat.

"How are you here?" I managed to ask after long silence and that was when Kenny glanced between Jason and I a few times, clearly trying to figure out what was happening.

"I- I should be asking you the same question." He responded almost immediately, clearly still shocked and as I kept staring at him, a rush of intense anger consumed every inch of my mind.

"You should be asking me the same question??" I demanded, suddenly feeling enraged by his mere presence.

"Why are you here? Do you know grandma Nini? And even if you do, you definitely shouldn’t be here, only those on her emergency lists should be here!" I thundered and I noticed Kenny staring at me in confusion because he knew damn well that I never lose my temper no matter what, which was the truth. It was just this anger and hatred that I felt towards Jason right now.

I watched as he blinked slowly, and then he wordlessly gestured towards the bed.

"This is my grandma." He responded flatly, brows pinched and it felt like I got doused with ice water at once. My mouth fell open as my sluggish feeling mind instantly tried to connect all of the dots dancing behind my eyes together.

Grandma Nini’s grandson? This is the infamous asshole grandson? The one who never agreed to come see her no matter what? And that’s the same alpha who knocked me up?

I blinked a couple of times, trying to comprehend what was currently happening, but it felt like my brain was about to explode.

"You’re the grandson who never comes to see her? That’s not cool, man." Kenny said this time, an unimpressed expression across his face and it felt like I might faint any moment from now.

I ended up turning around and exiting the hospital room. My ears rang as I walked down the large hallway and I instantly found myself trying to figure out why and how he was here right now.

Sure, he was grandma’s Nini grandson whom I had bashed so many times. What kind of ridiculous coincidence is that? Thinking about it alone was making my headache.

My mind traveled back to the encounter back at the hospital room. He looked so different from what I remembered, but that didn’t stop me from instantly recognizing him at first glance.

As I slowed down, I quietly began to wonder if was aware of the fact that I got pregnant and had his baby? Could that be the reason why he was here now? Because he somehow got to know who I was from his grandma? Was this it?

The thought of that was making anger start to grow within me once again. If he believed I’d just hand my kid over to me, then he had to be the most stupid and delusional alpha to ever have walked this earth.

When Kenny caught up to me, he massaged my shoulders and forced me to stop walking, and then he turned me around and asked me what was wrong while our eyes were locked. Kenny could read me like a book so it wasn’t surprising that he knew something was wrong right now.

I exhaled slowly, unsure of how to actually reveal the truth right now. But I detested lying to Kenny, especially after all we’ve shared.

"That man in there..." I trailed off for a moment and continued after he gave me an encouraging nod.

"He’s the father of my child. The one I had a one night stand with." I revealed and Kenny was stunned at first before it fully dawned on him. After a few minutes, immense anger consumed him as well.

"That’s the asshole alpha?" He echoed and I nodded solely, heart pounding fast against my ribs. Although with Kenny here right now, I was able to breathe better.

"I should go have a conversation with him." Kenny was already heading back when I gripped his hand and shook my head firmly. That was the last thing I wanted to happen right now. Not only would it disrupt grandma Nini’s sleep, I’d also rather be anywhere else right now.

After I told him that, he let out a long sigh and then he cupped my face, thumb stroking my cheeks slowly.

"Stop overthinking anything right now. Okay? It’s all gonna be fine." He assured me and I desperately hoped that he would be right.
