I didn’t loosen my hold on Kenny’s body till the dark smoke began to clear up. My eyes kept darting around and I kept my eyes and ears wide open, to be sure I didn’t get sneaked upon. Once the smoke was almost fully cleared up, I was able to make out something once again. Kenny had a worried expression on but I was glad he wasn’t hurt. I glanced over my guards and was relieved to see them unhurt as well.

As I turned around, I let my eyes drag around and my eyes landed on the palace guards all positioned right in front of us, with a large gap separating themselves from us. They had sharp spears in their hands and their pose indicated they were prepared to fight. They were standing beside each other and after looking through turn, there was no sign of Ajax and that irritated me.

I pointed a hand at the guards and snaked out.

"Where the hell is your king?" I demanded loudly. The guards didn’t respond as expected, they only repositioned themselves and I scoffed before motioning my guards forward and ordering them to attack all of Alex’s guards. My guards let out loud roars as they sped past my sides, heading right for Alex’s guards. A loud hoot filled up the sky right before they all began to fight. Bodies began to fall immediately, but I was glad my guards were barely falling in this fight.

As they fought together, I took Kenny and began to lead him deeper into the palace compound and heading right for the palace itself where I was sure Alex was currently at. Kenny gripped my hand tightly and I felt myself flattering a little, a huge part of me wanted to stop and comfort him because I know all of this is surprising and completely new to him, seeing as he never knew stuff like this actually existed. But there was no time for that so I only squeezed my hand around his as I kept leading him forward. I still wished he wasn’t here right now because all I can do is to hope that nothing ends up happening to him at the end of all of this.

We didn’t stop walking till we got to the foot of the palace stairs and so far, we haven’t been prevented from moving forward by guards, and I wasn’t sure if that was a good or a bad thing. At the top of the stairs stood Alex, and he had a bright grin across his face as he stared down at me. His hands were folded and he exuded calm energy, one which infuriated me so much that I wish I could sped up like a vampire, then I’d have strangled him to death right now.

"Where the hell is my omega, you bastard?" I thundered but he snickered and rolled his eyes before stepping forward even more at the top of the stairs. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"You mean my omega?" He drawled and I felt myself bristle even more, the anger brimming within me.

"You stupid bastard! Give me my omega right now then maybe I won’t make it hurt when I kill you." I snarled back at him as I began to climb up the stairs. He burst into laughter for about a minute before rolling his eyes again, still appearing very unfazed.

"Stop being so dense, Jason. The omega belonged to me, I even have the proof on a contract and all. I simply took back what belonged to me." He crooned, clearly not bothered enough to try denying the obvious. He’s clearly the one who took Rory and from the looks of things, he doesn’t plan to give him to me.

The stupid bastard.

Once I got to the top part of the stairs, I realized that the reason he was unfazed throughout was because right here, about ten feet away from the tip of the top of the stairs, stood like fifty guards. Clearly he had used those words of his to lure Kenny and I up here, and from the expression on his face right now, my guess was more than right.

Fuck!

"Why do you suddenly look scared? Don’t tell me the big bad enigma is scared." Alex snickered, throwing his head back and laughing hard. Once he stopped, he looked me up and down and took a deep sniff.

"Oh wait, you’re not even an enigma anymore." He drawled, a smile slowly growing across his face. "So the rumors are true?" He continued, crackling hard. "I heard your family has put someone else in your throne, please don’t tell me they deserted you after your enigma disappeared?"

My enigma hasn’t fully disappeared but he didn’t need to know that.

I stepped closer to him and grasped his throat, my hands squeezing tight. His guards instantly aimed guns at me, but I wasn’t fazed because normal guns couldn’t hurt us werewolves, except with silver, and these guns can’t contain silver bullets.

He waved his guards off with an eyeroll, still not fazed at all and his guards relaxed almost immediately just as Alex spoke.

"He can’t do a thing to me, he cares about the omega too much to dare to hurt me. Isn’t that right, Jason?" He grinned as he spoke and it pained me so much that he was right and also aware of that fact. I gripped his shirt harder and shook him a few times, bringing my face close to his.

"Where is he?? Where did you keep him?" I demanded lowly, my teeth gritted tight. "I swear to the goddess, if you hurt him." I continued but he only rolled his eyes before shoving me backwards, but I refused to loosen my hold on his shirt. His eyes landed on Kenny and his eyebrows got arched.

"You’re also worried about little Rory, ain’t that right?" He questioned and Kenny remained silent, but I only gritted my teeth as I shook him again.

"Answer my question, Alex! Where is he?" I demanded, voice sharper and louder this time. Alex pushed his hair out of his face and sighed like I was irritating him.

"Stop being so annoying, Jason. You’re asking this same question over and over again like you’d be able to do a thing about it. What do you think you can do about it?? Absolutely nothing!" He snickered into my face this time and as he began to snicker, I couldn’t help myself, I released one of my hold in his shirt to punch him hard in the face before I could think twice.

I regretted it almost immediately, because it’s obvious that force isn’t gonna work here, just as Kenny spoke in the next moment.

"Jason!"

I cursed within myself just as Kenny stepped forward and spoke.

"Please, we’re ready to negotiate. Anything you want in exchange for Rory. I also apologize on Jason’s behalf, he lost control is all." He spoke calmly, face blank and revealing nothing. I swallowed emptily as Alex who now had blood trickling from his nose due to the punch, stared at Kenny intently for a few moments.

"Anything?" Alex crooned and Kenny nodded tensely as he stepped forward even more.

"Hm. So, what if I ask you to give yourself up in exchange for Rory? Will you be willing to accept that? You love him after all, it’s clearly why you’re here. So... what do you say? Will you agree or disagree?" Alex finally spoke and disbelief flooded my veins because I couldn’t believe my ears.

"You stupid fucker!" I growled angrily, eyes filled with so much anger as I grasped his shirt and shook his roughly.

"Jason, stop!" Kenny called out sharply and I had to force myself to stop. I let out a growl just as Alex rolled his eyes and nodded towards Kenny.

"Why don’t you listen to him more? Clearly he’s more sensible than you are. At least he understands the severity of this situation." Alex snapped at me this time before glancing back at Kenny.

"So, dear blond boy, what do you say? Yourself in exchange for Rory? Do you agree?" Alex questioned and Kenny let out a sigh.

"What do you plan to use me for? What use can I be of?"

Alex made a show of checking him. "Well, you’re hot and I’m sure you bottom for Jason. You wouldn’t mind bottoming for me, will you? It’s not gonna be a one time thing, keep in mind." Alex continued and I instantly saw red again but before I could do anything, Alex was shoving me hard that I stumbled and loosened my hold on his shirt.

"So you want me because Jason has had me?" Kenny questioned quickly and I watched as Alex hummed.

"Of course. It’s hot, don’t you think so?" Alex shot back and I dragged a frustrated palm across my face while frustration ate at my insides.

All I want to do is to get Rory and be out of here with Kenny in the blink of an eye.
