Chapter 31

Rory pov

He refused to budge when I tried exiting the kitchen and I silently cussed him out in my head. I sucked in a deep breath and wore a smile on.

"What do you want, Trevor?" I asked, voice pitched low because Raya was still in her child’s bedroom and I wouldn’t like her to come out here and witness me standing this close to her husband. She’d undoubtedly assume the worse, and that’s something I really couldn’t afford.

"You’re so gorgeous. Do you know that?" He whispered and for the first time, he openly raked his eyes over my body from head to toe.

I felt disgust flood every inch of my insides almost immediately.

To think I had believed that he wasn’t like other alphas, only for him to go ahead and prove me wrong.

I took in a deep breath again before speaking.

"Trevor, I’m pregnant, and you have a wife, and a child." I didn’t bother to beat around the bush, because this situation was extremely serious and fragile.

He shrugged once before leaning down a little. I took a step backwards to still put some distance between us.

"I know you’re pregnant and frankly, I don’t care." He responded, grinning a little and I felt bile rise in my throat.

He took a step forward, stepping into the kitchen and I took one back, heart pounding against my ribs.

"As for my wife and child, well... they don’t need to know. What they don’t know wouldn’t hurt them, wound it?" As he spoke, all he was saying left me in utter disbelief. I used to think he was a great alpha, I used to also think he loved his wife and child, but now it seemed like everything was nothing but a lie.

I held a hand out before he could take another step forward. "Don’t come closer, please!"

"Rory, I believe you’re matured, we all are. This dosent even need to be that serious. We can be doing it once a week in secrecy and..."

I shook my head vehemently, abruptly cutting him off. "Please stop talking. You’re so fucking disgusting!" I cried out in intense distress.

Once the words were out, I bit on my bottom lip as my eyes widened in horror because I instantly remembered that I was currently living under his roof because that was no way to talk to someone who’s helping me out.

Shit. I cussed underneath my breath as I eyed him wearily.

"I’m so sorry." I whispered, gaze averting. I held my breath, just as he took a step forward, chest coming in contact with the hand I had stretched out between us.

"Rory, listen..." He began, but then the sound of Raya approaching made me stiffen as my heart flew into my throat,

I hastily jumped away from him, mind getting flooded with so much guilt like I had been doing something wrong.

My heart continued to race as Raya arrived in the doorway, a card game in her hands which she waved around.

I turned away from the sink which I had hastily jumped in front of to offer her a small smile, one which felt like a grimace. My eyes landed on Trevor who was acting like he was looking through the fridge, I didn’t even realize how fast he got there.

"Are you guys up for come night games before bed?" She asked just as Trevor walked towards her and wrapped his arm across her waist and nuzzled her throat, and I watched as she giggled while moving her fingers through his hair.

The feeling of disgust was back in my stomach as I watched Trevor watch like she was the center of his world and like she was the only one he had eyes for. Meanwhile now I know better. He’s just like every other alpha out there.

"That sounds nice." Trevor announced as he pulled away and then they both glanced at me.

I tried not to give anything away with my eyes as I forced out a laugh while lightly stroking my belle.

"I think I’ll retire early tonight." I announced and even though Raya whined about how she really wanted me to still stay up, I ended up lying about feeling a little light headed. That instant got her worried but I managed to convince her I’d call for her if I start feeling sick.

As I retired to my room that night, a sick feeling lingered in my stomach, because I had a feeling that now, Trevor was never gonna leave me alone, and if that doesn’t scream bad news, then I don’t know what will.

Just like I feared, Trevor didn’t leave me alone.

Instead, it was like that night gave him the encouragement he had always lacked since whenever he began to desire me.

Which was why I began to avoid being alone with him at all cost. I always make sure to stick to Raya’s side or that of Mel whenever he is present.

Of course, Raya didn’t know about any of that, which was why she kept putting me in situations that would leave me alone with Trevor.

When she noticed how much I was avoiding being alone with him, she believed it was because I wasn’t comfortable around him, and so she took it upon herself to leave me alone with her husband in order for us to bond and become best friends.

I didn’t know how to outrightly tell her that her husband was disgusting and constantly trying to get into my pants, because for one, I didn’t want to ruin her marriage. She might also not end up believing me and I just didn’t want a situation where she’d believe I was lying because I was jealous or something.

And so, I kept trying to avoid her disgusting husband.

Until tonight, that is.

Raya took her daughter to a friend’s house, and I had completely forgotten that Trevor was home until after i got into the kitchen to get a drink of water.

I felt his chest against my back and his hands around my waist, which instantly made me stiffen in horror.

I instantly tried wrenching myself away but his tightening grip prevented that from happening.

He chuckled behind me.

"Uh-uh. There’s nowhere to run to right now."
