"What?" I blurted out, feeling stunned to the core as his word echoed through my insides. He blinked slowly, eyes darting between Kenny and I, like he hadn’t meant to say that, but we heard it just fine.

He let out a long sigh before speaking again. "My omega."

Was he referring to me as his omega? Since when did I become his?

I let out a small laugh, too stunned to speak for a few more seconds.

"Oh, you’re referring to someone else, right?" I asked and I watched as a grimace settled across his face before he shook his head, shoving his hands into his lockers once again

"I was actually referring to you." He clarified and my mouth fell open but nothing came out.

"The fuck you are? Why would you do that?" Kenny shot back at him almost immediately, and then he was tugging me into his side even more.

"I didn’t mean to, but when you look at it, that’s how it is." Jason bit out and Kenny glared at him. "The fuck it is, you’re spewing bullshit right now. You literally rejected him!"

Jason’s nose flared and I could see anger starting to grow in his eyes before he exhaled harshly.

"You’re right. I know I did, but..." he was still speaking when I shook my head and held a hand up.

"That’s enough, please." After those words, about a minute of silence stretched out between us before I spoke.

"Let’s get a few things straight, Jason " I began, hand still held high while he watched me wearily.

"I’m not your omega, and I won’t ever be, please don’t refer to me as that again, especially in the presence of my Alpha– Kenny, because that’s just disrespectful." I stated, keeping my voice steady and calm even though that was the complete opposite of what I was currently feeling.

"Secondly, this might sound cruel but I don’t think I care of whatever it might be that’s wrong with you. You wronged me in the past, you hurt my omega, so... I don’t think I even want to know about whatever it is that might be wrong with you." Once I was done this time, I exhaled shakily and I watched as Jason let out a harsh breath before nodding tensely.

"Noted."

"And thirdly, please leave us alone. The two of us. Actually, stay away from us no matter what." I paused for a moment.

"Because it seems like you might remain here for months from the looks of things so far, even though we end up crossing paths in events or parties which I’m certain we would, pretend like you don’t know either of us, like we’re nothing but strangers and all would be well for every single one of us." Once I was done speaking, I exhaled before finally dropping my hand. Kenny had a pleased expression when I glanced at him for a moment, but as for Jason, he had a pinched and displeased expression on but at least he was silent and not arguing anymore right now.

"We’ll keep being around each other no matter what, we’ll keep having dinners like this because it’s something that genuinely makes your grandma happy. And whenever we’re here, please act normal and don’t ask questions that could give away the fact that we’ve had an encounter in the past."

Once I let out a long breath, Jason folded his arms and stared down at me with an almost bored expression on.

"Are you done?" He asked and I blinked at him, feeling taken aback.

"Huh?"

"I said are you done with dishing out all those rules?" He repeated and I bristled at once, already feeling the urge to reach forward and slap him across the face.

"As a matter of fact, no." I responded sharply and he rolled his eyes before stepping closer to us.

"Well, that’s too bad. I don’t wanna hear anymore of those." He drawled and I gave him a scalding look before glancing at Kenny who had an unimpressed expression directed at Jason.

"I think we should leave now." Kenny said as if reading my mind and I instantly agreed, but then Jason interrupted us with a question.

"When can we see though? I really want to talk to you about something." He asked and I let out a scoff.

"I literally already told you I wasn’t interested in meeting up with you to discuss anything." I reminded him and he rolled his eyes again, stepping even closer to Kenny and I and for a moment, I wondered why he didn’t have a scent. He was standing closer than I’d have liked, but taking a step back would only mean I was overwhelmed by his presence.

"It’s regarding you and my health. Aren’t you even a little bit curious or worried?" He asked, lips pressed together and I rolled my eyes.

"I’m really not." I informed him in a sweet voice, enjoying the way he tried to mask his irritation and failed.

"You can talk to him, can’t you? This is really important and you can even be present if you’d like." Jason said to Kenny this time but Kenny only glared at him.

"You just insulted Rory this way by speaking to me about him like he’s not here right now and can’t make decisions himself," Kenny snapped in irritation and I wanted to give him a kiss right now for always being perfect.

"Oh." Jacob mumbled and I scoffed just as his eyes panned towards me, but before he could speak, I held a hand up.

"I think that’s enough, Jason." I said quietly and then I stepped backwards.

"Kenny and I would be leaving now." I added and turned around along with Kenny whose hold around my shoulders was giving me all the strengths I could possibly need.

Before we could take more than four steps, Jason’s next words made us slow to a stop.

"If you don’t agree to let us meet up, I’ll tell my grandma about the past we shared." He spoke quietly but the threat of was clear in the air and I felt too stunned to speak as I turned around to face him once again.

Kenny let out a disbelieving laugh this time. "Whatever do you even hope to gain after going down that route? Huh?" He paused and shook his head with another laugh. "Is your aim to get his mind to soften towards you or to keep hardening further? How do you even keep getting these stupid ideas? First it was offering him money like he was a desperate person, and now this? And there I was thinking you’d be someone smart, but you’re actually stupid as hell."

By the time Kenny was done, I was beyond stunned and Jason was fuming, anger clear in his eyes and face.

"Shut the hell up, you moron!" Jason gritted out through clenched teeth but Kenny only snickered.

"No, you shut the fuck up, you dense alpha. You’re as dumb as every other typical alpha out there. Since all your encounters with Rory, have you even attempted to apologize for hurting him? Don’t you even make use of your brains a little? Since you’re met him, you’ve only tried to use your influence to get him to meet up with you, and now you dare to threaten him? You’re stupid thorough and thorough."

Jason stalked forward, closing up the distance between him and Kenny before I could get a word out, and then he was gripping Kenny’s throat and tugging Kenny flushed against him.

I panicked and rushed forward, but then Kenny was already shoving Jason backwards till Jason was falling. However, Jason refused to let go of Kenny’s throat, taking him along with himself on the fall.

"Oh god!" I cried out as they tumbled on the ground, with Kenny splayed over Jason who instantly rolled over till Kenny was underneath him.

His hold around Kenny’s neck was still there and I was worried he was really hurting Kenny and was gonna start punching Kenny. He and Kenny stared at each other, panting hard, and then Jason was letting go as if he got scalded, just as Kenny shoved him off and rolled sideways, breathing hard. I hurriedly called out his name as I rushed towards him and helped him up, but he didn’t really need my help because he wasn’t hurt.

He pointed a hand at Jason who was already on his feet and currently pacing.

"I’ve told you to stop touching me, why don’t you understand simple requests?!" He snarled, still breathing hard.

Jason tugged at his hair, appearing worked up and almost like he was on the verge of losing control. He stared at Kenny hard and stepped forward a little as if contemplating closing the distance between them, then he was turning away and resuming his pacing, teeth gritted as he kept breathing hard as well.

"We’re leaving, Jason." I said as I took Kenny’s hand and squeezed, trying to get him to relax but he was still so tense.

"You can tell your grandma about our past if you like, just know that on doing that, you can kiss any chance you might have at getting to have a meeting with me, goodbye."
