The only time I’ve ever felt this pressing urge of possessiveness was with Rory. This was the second person I was feeling this emotion from. It came out of nowhere and took up all the space in my chest, making it hard for me to breathe for a moment. I had been in the middle of an important meeting when Kenny’s call came in this afternoon where he explained that Rory had fainted and that he had gotten a mysterious letter from Alex. Of course I exited the meeting at that exact moment, uncaring that it was important, heading straight home at once.

Home. This was what I now consider home. Wherever Rory and Kenny were at.

On arriving home, I had been pleased to see the two of them cuddled together, and it had tugged at so many emotions within me at once. After cuddling against Rory till he fell asleep, Kenny and I began to speck. Since I arrived, I had noticed something a little off about him, and my guess was confirmed when he went ahead to reveal some of the things he experienced in the hands of his ex. As he kept speaking, so many things instantly made sense to me, like how he tried pushing me away at all cost before he couldn’t fight it anymore. It was because he had been traumatized by his fucking ex.

That made an immense feeling of anger fill my lungs that I hadn’t even hesitated when I asked him if he’d like me to kill his ex.

"I mean it. Just say the word." I muttered, making sure to keep my voice low so it doesn’t disturb Rory who was still asleep.

Kenny looked very horrified as he sputtered, eyes widened and a bewildered laugh escaping his lips.

"You can’t be serious." He finally muttered, rolling his eyes and when my serious expression still didn’t change after he finished laughing, he realized that I was being dead serious and he slowly sat up.

I glanced down at Rory, taking in the relaxed way his face looked. This is how I want him to look at all times and never nervous or worked up or scared. I had already promised myself that I was going to kill Alex with my bare hands when I got a hold of him, he wouldn’t realize what hit him.

I leaned down and brushed a kiss against Rory’s cheek beside sliding out of the bed. I glanced at Kenny for a moment and nodded at the doorway, a clear indication for him to come with me.

He sighed as he trailed after me and once we were out of the bedroom, I turned back around and walked him against the nearest wall. His eyes were hard as he regarded me but I only rolled my eyes as I set my hands on his shoulders, massaging the muscles there.

"No one is allowed to hurt you. Do you understand? If they do, it means they’re asking for a quick death." I began and Kenny’s eyes widened, scent starting to grow intense.

"Are you being serious?" He whispered as he stared up at me and I hummed as I stroked his hair out of his face, my fingers dragging over the softness of his cheek and jaw.

"Of course I am."

"Isn’t that like, against the law?" He blurted out and I rolled my eyes with a scoff.

"Who cares about the fucking law?" I drawled as I combed my fingers through his hair.

"I have my ways, and I have a lot of connections. Frankly, the law needs to be scared of me. So, just give me a name and I’ll have it handled." I continued and Kenny frowned before knocking my hand off his face, frowning at me in disapproval.

"You’re insane, Jason. I’m not giving you any name. I don’t want you killing anyone." He muttered and I frowned at him this time as something began to scratch at the inside of my chest.

"Why? Do you love him?" I demanded, the question coming out harder and bitter than I expected. Kenny’s eyes widened for a moment before he reached up to cup my face, and then he pressed our foreheads together, then we stayed like that, breathing each in till he finally spoke.

"For a smart alpha, you sure love acting dumb." He sighed out and I spluttered, attempting to pull back but his hold around my face tightened.

"It’s the truth. Why would you even assume that I love my ex? Despite the emotions I show you daily? Oh Jason, you truly are a dumb alpha." He continued, clicking his tongue and shaking his head for emphasis and I leveled him with a glare.

"That’s logical since you refused to give up his name. So why are you protecting him?"

Kenny rolled his eyes this time.

"Because I’ve moved on from what my ex did to me. I’ve recovered and I’ve moved on. It’s now in the past, so it’s pointless to kill him, and I’d also feel guilty." He explained and I sighed as I tugged his hands off my face.

"I still want to kill him though, I don’t care that It’s in the past. Whoever it is that has hurt what belongs to me must suffer no matter what." I growled lowly this time as I framed his face in my palm, watching as his eyes fluttered a little. Heat surged within me and I leaned down to press my forehead against his, one of my hands snaking around his throat.

"No one has the right to hurt you, I don’t care if it’s in the past or decades ago. They must suffer." I continued, my breath mingling with his at this point. He was breathing hard as well and I let my grip around his throat tighten a little.

"Did you know that Trevor is now dead?" I continued and Kenny’s eyes almost flew out of his sockets tight before he began to cough, causing me to drop my hand and take a step backwards. He wheezed and slid down the wall.

"What?!" He demanded once his coughing fit stopped and I shrugged, pushing my hair out of my face. Kenny pushed off the wall and stepped closer to me, eyes wide.

"Were you being serious? Trevor is dead?!" He demanded in a whisper shout and I gave a clipped nod.

"What the fuck, Jason? Are you insane??!" He whisper-shouted and I shrugged again.

"It’s done and can’t be undone. He’s really dead. I paid someone in jail to do it and make it seem like an accident, and I made it be that the news isn’t gonna be released yet." I continued and Kenny’s eyes were so wide that I feared his eyes might really fall out of his sockets. I reached out and poked the middle of his forehead with my index finger.

"I don’t care if you don’t approve of this, or if you think it was bad of me. I already said no one hurts what’s mine and I meant it. Trevor dared do all those sick things to Rory while he was pregnant at that. The person I paid to end his pathetic life made it hurt real bad, and the person told him he was doing it for Rory, so he’d be aware he was paying for his sins before he died. I even got a recording of the whole thing, it just happened a few days ago. Wanna see?" I continued and Kenny’s mouth hung open for a couple of seconds before it snapped close, and then he shook his head.

He began to head down the hall, and I followed after him, watching as he went straight to the kitchen to drink some water. I remained standing in the doorway till he was done, then I leaned against the doorway and breathed deeply for a few moments, before his eyes met with mine again.

"That’s..." he began and I remained silent, wanting him to finish his sentence.

"That’s... that’s really sick and disturbing, Jason. You broke a lot of law that way. Trevor was already sentenced to life imprisonment." He muttered softly and I rolled my eyes.

"He was still breathing in prison. He didn’t deserve to breathe any longer." I pointed out and Kenny drank some more water before continuing.

"What you did was disturbing and almost psychotic, and I should disapprove of it, but I’m actually with you on this one. Trevor really... he reality traumatized Rory’s life. And I was present to witness the worst part of it. It was very ugly, Rory had countless nightmares and I kept wishing I could Trevor even though I’ve never killed anyone before. So, I like that you’ve actually killed Trevor, and I’m not ashamed to admit it." He finally admitted and I felt a grin tug at the sides of my lips.

"Good."

"But I’m still not giving you the name of my ex." He added right after that and I let out a long groan but he only snickered before rounding the island. I closed the distance between us and tugged him into a hug, one he willingly let himself melt into.
