Returning back to work today made me feel like a little bit of normalcy had returned back into my life, so I had a little bounce in my steps this morning. Of course, I wasn’t fully comfortable with sleeping alone in my apartment especially since laying on that bed reminded me of Trevor hovering over me with hatred and rage dancing in his eyes.

My standoffish boss was even relieved at my return and he hoped I was doing fine, since I told him about what happened before asking if I could take a few days off.

As I began to serve tables, I soon lose myself to the now familiar routine.

I was serving tables after tables and after a few hours, I was massaging my back when I felt a prickle behind my neck along with a familiar scent, one which reminded me of Trevor. I instantly whirled around but I ended up finding nothing. However, that little moment made me tense up and get filled with a little worry as I resumed my tasks.

I was able to finally get the thoughts of Trevor out of my mind when Kenny resurfaced in my mind. I felt warmth tickle the inside of my chest and stomach as thoughts of him washed over my limbs. It’s been only a day but it felt like weeks, and didn’t even believe I’d miss him this much until I was currently experiencing it.

The fact that Kenny’s scent still lingered on my body and was mixed with mine made a smile tug at my face as I waited on a table to order. After I came into work, two co workers who I was a little familiar with all wiggled their brows at me and it was definitely because they picked up the Alpha’s scent on me which was now blended with mine.

This was because I nested throughout the days I spent At Kenny’s house, with shirts and blankets that carried a lot of his scents. As I was returning back home yesterday, I snuck in a few of his shirts and I believed he must have noticed that at this point but I was grateful for the fact that he acted oblivious. I only did that because I wanted to take a bit of him along with me, and so that I can still have his scent on me long after I return home.

It was still surprising me how I was easily able to fall in love with his scent. For someone who believed he has always has a sensitive nose, I wasn’t taking long to get smitten with some scent. The only time this had happened was with Jason’s scent a few months ago.

Thinking about Jason right now made my scent turn sour at once, and I briefly wondered if he was now living happily with the princess he was getting married to the day after he rejected me. Perhaps she’s already pregnant for him right now as well.

A frown formed across my face and I shoved that thought to the back of my mind, feeling beyond disgusted that I actually gave that alpha my virginity. The virginity didn’t matter to me anymore after I caught Alex and my sister in bed anyway, but I still felt weird that he was the only one that got to fuck me before I got knocked up.

My hands unconsciously wrapped around my stomach and I exhaled slowly, reminding myself that I was gonna strive hard to give my child the very best. Even if the child’s father is a bastard, it doesn’t matter to me. I’d still love and thoroughly care for my child no matter what.

Like Kenny instructed, I was very careful while heading home, and I made sure to check the apartment was empty before stepping into it. I locked the new lock once inside and exhaled a relieved sigh, barely containing my excitement as I reached for my phone to shoot Kenny a text.

I had been looking forward to talking to him all day and if someone seee me right now, they might think I haven’t spoken to him in years.

His response came in almost immediately and that pleased me immensely. Seemed like I wasn’t the only one who had been looking forward to tonight.

I stayed on the call with kenny for hours that night and his voice was the last thing I heard as I drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, I was beyond energized because I was meeting up with Kenny at the end of my shift. He suggested that we hang out and I instantly agreed because I badly wanted to see his face again and watch his beautiful face while listening to him speak.

I was serving a table when an overly rude woman sprayed a cup of water in my face, when I had been nothing but nice and patient for the past thirty minutes which she was using to pick out an order.

Without stopping to think, I picked up the cup of water by her date’s front and sprayed it across her face as well.

The gasp she let out was almost comical and that was when I realized what I had done.

Shit. Shit. Shit.

I swore underneath my breath but before I could attempt apologizing since costumers were always right no matter what, she stormed out of the restaurant while screaming bloody murder.

Her boyfriend offered me an apologetic smile and dropped a wad of cash by my tray before mumbling something about his girlfriend being on her period, and then he went after her after urging me to not be angry.

I was frozen for a few moments, the wad of cash staring right back at me. I should be happy for the cash gift since it would go into my pocket, but I was worried that my boss might fire me because of my action.

However, he only asked if I was alright and when I apologized to him, he waved me off and told me that sometimes it’s good to not be overly nice because that leads one to accept a lot of bullshit.

As I existed his office, a proud feeling was building within my chest and I told myself that I was gonna stop being overly nice henceforth.

After my shift, I was waiting outside for Kenny when an old woman almost got hit with a large truck because her glasses broke. I managed to get her out of harms way, but my knee got scraped in the process while everyone watched the scene unfold.
