"What is happening..." Princess muttered under her breath. I watched the water as it began to swirl around our ankles, covering our feet in a cold, steady rush.

This was unexpectedly strange. My brain was trying to make sense of it, but nothing clicked. How in the world was there this much water inside a hotel room on the 7th floor? It wasn’t like a pipe had burst; it felt more deliberate. Was this some kind of sick prank? It definitely wasn’t like this when we first entered the room and Princess was busy tapping the bed.

We waded out into the hallway, and my heart sank. There was water pooling across the entire floor, reflecting the dim overhead lights in long, wavy lines. It was everywhere.

One by one, the doors clicked open. Everyone started coming out of their rooms, staring down at the floor with wide, confused eyes.

"What is this? How is this even possible?" someone yelled from down the hall.

The hallway filled with noise instantly. Everyone began talking at once, voices rising in pitch as they wondered why the 7th floor was suddenly turning into a swimming pool.

"The elevator is not working!" another guy shouted, slamming his hand against the metal doors. V

Princess pushed past a few teammates to check for herself. I followed close behind her. She pressed the buttons over and over, but they stayed dark. No lights, no humming sound of machinery, just dead silence. Then Malo ran over to check the emergency staircase, but he stopped short. The door leading to the stairs was completely smooth. No handle, no hinges, no access at all. It looked like it had been welded shut into the frame.

"There is no entrance... we can’t get out," Sasha said, her voice trembling slightly.

"Oh my God, this is a total lockdown..." Malo said. I could see the sweat beads forming on his forehead as everyone around us began to panic.

A lockdown? My mind raced. Who the fuck would trap us all in here like this? And why the water? Was it the same person who scratched the bus tires back on the road? None of this was making any fucking sense. It felt like we were being hunted, or worse, played with.

Princess reached out and grabbed my hand. She must have noticed the look on my face because she squeezed my fingers tight.

"Don’t worry, I won’t let anything happen to you, Omega. I promise," she assured me. Her voice was steady, the only calm thing in the room. I just nodded, trying to breathe through the tightness in my chest.

"Someone should try to open that door. We need to find out exactly where this water is coming from before it gets any higher," Princess called out, taking charge.

The groups divided up quickly. One group stayed at the staircase door, trying to force it open, while the other started searching the hallway for the source of the flood.

I watched the boys as they punched the staircase door over and over. They were using every bit of their wolf strength, throwing their shoulders into it, but it was hopeless. There wasn’t a single dent in the metal. It didn’t even vibrate. It was like the door was made of something our super strength couldn’t break, something completely indestructible.

Even Princess stepped up and gave it a shot, her eyes flashing, but nothing happened. No effect at all.

We were officially trapped in a fucking pool of water...

The other team returned a few minutes later, splashing through the rising water. They looked exhausted and terrified. They said they found nothing. No leaking pipes, no open valves, no source at all. All the other doors on the floor were locked tight. Even our own rooms had become off-limits; once we stepped out into the hall, the locks had engaged, and none of us could get back in.

Jake and Ray began to freak out. They started pacing in circles, repeating over and over that we were all going to die in here. Their voices were high and annoying, adding way too much tension to a situation that was already ready to snap. People told them to shut up, but that only made them get louder and more frantic. I was getting so irritated I could feel my teeth grinding. I wanted to hit them just to make them shut up so someone could actually think of a way out of this mess.

Peamah had been leaning against the wall the whole time with his arms folded, looking like he was bored. Suddenly, he moved. He punched Jake right in the jaw, sending him to the ground. Jake collapsed instantly, splashing into the water.

Then Ray was slammed backward into the wall. The weird part was, Peamah hadn’t even moved toward him. Ray just flew back like he’d been hit by an invisible truck.

I turned to see Sasha standing right beside me. Her face was set, her eyes focused.

Fucking hell. She can control body movements now? Since when? How OP is this girl getting?

I slowly drifted away from her, my back hitting the wall. I had no idea what was going on anymore.

"That was not necessary, Peamah. Do you want to kill him or something?" Princess said, stepping forward to help Jake up. She was the only one moving. She sat him against the wall, making sure his head was above the water, while one of the other teammates helped Ray.

Everyone went quiet after that. The only sound was the splashing of feet and the distant sound of the storm outside.

"This is strange... something is really not right here," Malo whispered, standing right beside me again.

"It’s not just strange, Malo. The bus was tampered with. Someone punctured those tires on purpose, and now we’re trapped in a flooded hallway," I said, looking down at the water that was now halfway up my shins.

"I bet it’s Peamah. He’s probably trying to get his revenge. Look at how he just punched Jake, and then he almost ripped someone earlier," Malo muttered. He kept staring at Peamah, who had gone back to leaning against the wall. He looked way too calm for a guy trapped in a sinking building.

"I don’t think it’s him," I said firmly.

For some reason, I knew the game meant everything to Peamah. Why would he sabotage the very thing he said, he as been working toward all year? No one ruins their own big moment on purpose. Something deep down told me he had nothing to do with the tires or the lockdown.

"Where is Coach Jay?" Princess asked suddenly, her voice cutting through the murmurs.

We all stopped and looked around at each other. My heart skipped a beat as I scanned the faces in the hallway. The entire floor had been booked for us. Everyone should have been right here in the hallway, the teams, the twins, Sasha, Malo, Princess, and me.

But the coach was missing. He was nowhere to be found.
