Faye’s POV

Wow the inside looks cool, the spinning disco and the neon lights brighten every corner of the club, the loud music was loud enough to lift people’s vibe, I just stood at the center looking around.

For a second I did not move. I let it sink in. The lights flashing. The bass vibrating through the floor and into my legs. The air thick with perfume and sweat and something sweet I could not name. People were already dancing like they had no worries in the world. I rolled my shoulders once and exhaled.

Don’t mind me I have been to parties and clubs. I used to sneak out to mingle with my friends and when my brother caught me one time, Guru bailed me out from his taunting. I can still remember the look on my brother’s face that night, half angry half disappointed. Guru standing beside me like a shield, telling him to relax.

Honestly my brother is really an easy going guy but sometimes he is a jerk always telling me to avoid bad company and all that when we were in Redwood but here the only thing he kept on saying or mumbling to himself was Alpha’s are annoying kind of breed and I should stop getting in trouble with them and I don’t know why but Eriko said I shouldn’t mind him.

Alpha’s are dangerous kind of breed.

The words echoed in my head for a second before the music swallowed them. I shook it off. I did not come here to think about Alpha’s mostly that one Alpha. I came here to breathe.

I was at the bar side and a bartender offered me a drink. I refused at first wanting to know the cost. I don’t want to go over my budget and end up in trouble. Been there once. I leaned on the counter, trying to look casual.

But to my surprise he said the drink was free. Someone said they were paying all the bills tonight. Free. The word hit different. I felt my lips curl into a smile before I could stop it.

I was excited. I ordered multiple tequila shots then margaritas and cocktails. I love drinking it’s even better when it’s free drinking, also away from the thought of missing home. The first shot burned down my throat. The second one went down easier. By the time I sipped the margarita my shoulders were lighter.

My night was fun. I wasn’t high enough which was great I will be able to go home in one piece. I could still think straight. Still walk straight. I laughed at something someone said even though I did not know them.

"You came freshwolf" a voice from behind said.

As I turned it was Malo holding a plastic cup he was shirtless and his face and body was covered in luminous paint. The paint glowed against his skin. He grinned like he had been waiting for me.

I said hi to him and he told me that the whole class has a section and if I wanted to tag along so I followed him. I hesitated for a second but then I shrugged and walked behind him. What was the worst that could happen.

This section was different from the one with loud music and adults. Here were all teenagers, my age mates. The energy felt wilder. Less controlled. I had to remove my hoodie at the entrance and I was just wearing a bra top at my upper body side. For a second I felt exposed but no one cared. Everyone looked the same under the paint.

Paint was sprayed on me. From my face to my body. Cold at first. Then warm as it dried. Someone laughed and drew a line across my collarbone. I did not even know who.

The room was big and dark so the paint was the light lighting the room. Neon streaks floating in the dark. Hands glowing. Faces glowing.

I grabbed a cup on the front and drank the liquid. It tasted different from the one outside. Sweeter. Stronger. It coated my tongue in a strange way.

I asked what I was drinking and Malo said it’s a moon secret special.

I don’t like that name but a few minutes my eyes were upside down, every part of my body was a bit heightened, no disco ball in here but it felt like every corner was spinning. The music felt closer. Louder. My skin felt too tight. My heartbeat climbed into my throat.

What the heck did I drink?

It was a cup. Just one cup.

I bumped into someone and I apologize to go find a couch to rest on. My steps felt uneven. The floor felt soft then hard then soft again. I blinked twice but the lights kept stretching.

After some time sitting down to get myself back, Malo came again and handed me a glowing crescent like he put it on my finger tip and said I should take it, it will help me get myself back.

I stared at it for a second. It glowed faintly between his fingers.

He was kind of laughing at me that I couldn’t handle one cup that people pass out after their 7th, and I said it was my first time drinking that kind of stuff. My voice sounded far away to my own ears.

I ended up taking the crescent pill. The moment I put it in my mouth it immediately melted on my tongue. It tasted like glucose but it felt cold and gave me chills.

For a second I thought maybe it was working.

It didn’t subdue anything at all. Matter of fact it made it 10 times worse.

My body reacted fast, too fast. I felt more heightened, my scent thickened around me, sweet and heavy, and I hated how little control I had over it. It felt like it was pouring out of my skin. I could almost see it.

Everything felt louder. The music sounds, emotions, even my own heartbeat thudding in my ears. Someone brushed past me and I almost jumped out of my skin. My breathing grew uneven. I didn’t know what to do. I wanted to go home and get in a shower to calm myself down but the last thing I remembered was asking someone where the restroom was maybe I could fill the sink and dip my head inside.

The hallway blurred. The lights flickered. My hand dragged along a wall just to stay upright. I remember pushing a door open.....

Finally the noise calmed down, the scent reduced, I was back to being me, I had control now, the water always works. The coolness against my skin grounded me.

But something was off. The silence felt different. I slowly opened my eyes and I was in a foreign room. I had no idea where I was but I thought I went home and this doesn’t look like my room. My heart skipped.

I sat up slowly and I realized I was naked. Well my body was covered in paint but it wasn’t glowing anymore. The sunlight creeping through the window was the proof that it was daylight. The sheets were twisted around my waist. My head throbbed lightly.

When I tried to move my legs I felt another leg, not mine. Warm. Heavy.

I froze.

I turned around to see someone else by my side. I was a bit surprised because I don’t remember hooking up with someone but I was tense when the person turned.

My breath caught in my throat.

I quickly jumped out of the bed taking the duvet to cover my naked body and then she was naked.

"What the fuck!!" I shouted seeing the Alpha princess naked. What in the moon happened last night?.
