That wasn’t a freak-out. I wasn’t freaking out. Why should I freak out? I’m a grown person now, and I don’t do that.

That piece of information was supposed to be the first thing I heard when I sat down. And what made them think I was going to freak out anyway? I wasn’t freaking out. I was just purely, deeply pissed off.

I didn’t even wait for them to explain the how or the why of them being back together. I didn’t care about the logistics of their little reunion. I just looked at Malo and asked where that bitch of a Princess was hiding. He said she was at the club. Apparently, Beam and Kiara had stayed with her all through the night and were still there basking in the victory.

I stood up and walked away before they could say another word.

The moment I got to Lunny Club, the first person I saw was Mr. Richard. He was in his usual spot behind the bar counter, polishing glasses like he never slept.

I greeted him shortly and asked for Princess. He didn’t even look up at first. He just said she had company and did not wish to be disturbed by anyone. I let out a fake laugh. It was more like an angry, jagged sound that scraped my throat. I asked him again, leaning over the polished wood of the bar.

"Where the fuck is that bitch?"

Seeing the look in my eyes and realizing I wasn’t playing around, he didn’t ask any more questions. He knew when a storm was blowing in. He just reached under the counter and handed me Princess’s room card.

I barged into her room without knocking. It was suspiciously neat. The bed was made, the pillows perfectly fluffed, and the sheets untouched. I stood in the middle of the room and started sniffing, searching for her scent, following the trail of expensive perfume and that sharp Alpha pheromone.

They were in her game room.

There they were. Beam and Princess were lounging on those giant potato bean bags, controllers gripped in their hands, battling something out on the massive screen. They were just playing a video game like everything was normal. And inside the Jacuzzi, with the bubbles going full blast, was Kiara. She was in a tiny bikini, eyes closed, looking completely relaxed. Beside her was a bottle of champagne. No, it was multiple bottles. Some were half-empty, scattered on the floor near Beam and Princess.

They had been up all night celebrating. They hadn’t even noticed me at first because the game audio was so loud.

Then Princess’s head tilted. She started sniffing the air, realizing the energy in the room had shifted. She turned her head and saw me standing at the door, my arms folded across my chest, blocking the exit.

She paused the game for a second, reading the sheer anger radiating off my face. She saw the way my jaw was set. She knew I wasn’t here to play any games, on-screen or off.

"Everybody out," Princess said. Her voice was flat and cold.

Beam and Kiara both turned, looking confused by her tone until their eyes landed on me. Beam didn’t say a word. She just dropped her controller on the bean bag and stood up. She was the first one to walk out, keeping her head down as she passed me.

Then Kiara stepped out of the Jacuzzi, water dripping off her and onto the tiles. She reached for the side and grabbed one of Princess’s bunny robes. She slid it on, tying the belt slow and tight. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

She was fucking wearing Princess’s robe.

Her face said everything. She hated that I was here. She hated that I was the reason the party was stopping. But she still obeyed the order, shooting me a sharp, jagged look as she walked past me toward the door.

Now it was just me and Princess in the quiet room.

"Hey Omega... what’s up?" she said. She was forcing a smile, but it looked brittle.

"Fuck you," I snapped. I wasn’t buying the act. Not for a second.

"Oh, I see you’re angry. I was going to tell you eventually, but last night we were just celebrating my success and the club win and..."

"Fuck you," I repeated. I didn’t want the excuses.

She let out a long sigh. "Okay, you and your fuck you. Seriously, Omega, say something else. Give me something I can actually work with."

Her face said it all. She wished I’d say anything else, but I didn’t have anything else for her right now.

"I can’t believe you’re back with that bitch. After everything? Why would you ever do that?"

"She apologized, She proved her loyalty when it mattered most. And I’m not back with her as a couple. We’re just friends, that’s it," she explained, trying to sound reasonable.

"Friends? Who the fuck is friends with an ex?"

"Me. Come on, don’t do this. I don’t have romantic feelings for her anymore. We’re neutral. My two best friends are Beam and Kiara. Together we make a trio. We’re stronger that way," she said.

"Fuck you and your trio. Do you even remember what she did? She put a sex tape of you and me on the internet. The entire school saw us. Do you just forget things like that when you’re winning?.... That bitch cheated on you.."

"She apologized for that too. She said she wasn’t in her right mind at the time. Now she just wants to be friends and help the group. The three of us, we’re not just friends. We’re partners in everything now."

I scoffed. The sound was bitter. "Partners in everything? That bitch wants you back in her bed. I can see it in her eyes. I’m sure right now, in the other room, she’s already thinking of a way to fuck you."

"Omega, you’re the only one I fuck. You know that. No one else touches me like that. Please don’t make this a big deal," she said, finally standing up. She picked up Beam’s controller from the bean bag and placed it back on the shelf with precise movements.

"A big deal? Are you fucking kidding me? You’re playing house and friends with an ex who clearly wants you back. And that’s not even the worst part. We were together all day yesterday. We were laughing and taking pictures. It didn’t once occur to you to tell me that you and Kiara are getting back together?"

"And now you know how it feels, huh?" she shot back. Her voice suddenly had an edge to it, sharp and dangerous. "We’ve been fucking for the past weeks. We’ve been cuddling, you wanting to swallow me whole every single moment your heat came up, asking about my day like we’re something real. But it didn’t occur to you to tell me you have a new neighbor? Not just any neighbor, but someone you worship like a moon goddess? Someone you’ve been spending every day with?"

She stepped closer to me, her eyes flashing.

"You’ve been hanging out with Yuki Fangs. And you didn’t say a single word about it."

And there it was. That look I saw for a split second on Thursday night. The one I thought I had imagined.

The pause was officially over.
