"You really think sitting on my lap is going to make me do what exactly?" Princess asked, her voice tight and rattling in her chest.

"Yes. You’re going to finally open up to me. Let’s see how long you can keep lying when I’m this close to you, Princess," I whispered.

And there I was, sitting right on her lap, face to face with the girl who had been driving me insane the whole week. I wrapped my arms around her neck, pulling myself in until my breath was just inches from hers. I could feel the heat coming off her in waves, thick and heavy like a blanket.

I hate losing. I really do. It’s not in my nature to just back down when I know I’m right.

As much as my own heat was rising from being this close to her, her rut was definitely still there too. I could feel it buzzing under her skin. It wasn’t gone, not even after those two bottles of suppressants. She was still burning up, all I need to do is bring out her beast.

"Were you actually there tonight because of your pups? Or was it because you couldn’t stand the thought of me being with someone else?" I asked.

There was a long pause. I watched her eyes dart back and forth, searching for an answer that sounded believable.

"No quick reply this time?" I teased, brushing my fingers lightly against her cheek. Her skin was scorching.

"I’ll answer you," she said, her voice dropping an octave. "But you being this close right now is making it hard to think."

"What? Is my body distracting you? Is it because you want it so bad?"

"You fucking omega. You’re seducing me on purpose."

"Really? A lot of people try to seduce the great Princess Kings every day, and you never even look at them. So if I’m not what you want, look away and answer my question," I said, lowering my voice until it was barely a breath.

She snorted, a dry and frustrated sound, but she refused to look away. Her eyes stayed locked on mine, intense and unblinking.

Was she playing with me? Did she know that my heat was rising too, making my head fuzzy and my heart race? No. I had to stay strong. I couldn’t let her win this. She had spent so long making me feel like I was the only one chasing her, the only one who couldn’t control themselves.

Then she spoke, her voice slow and deliberate, like she was savoring every word.

This bitch. I felt a surge of jealousy hit me like a physical blow.

"No. I want you to be honest for once."

"I am being honest with you."

"No, you’re not. You asked me the other day how the girl I slept with tasted. Why would you even ask that if you didn’t care? Unless something changed for you. Since the moment we tasted each other that night."

She went quiet. She looked away for a second, her jaw tightening.

I watched her carefully. She was thinking, searching for an escape route, a way to keep her walls up. If we had to stay in this living room all night long until she cracked, we would. I wasn’t moving an inch.

"My girlfriend tastes amazing," she said finally, looking back at me. "Even this morning she tasted..." she rolled her tongue over her lips slowly, "delicious. I wanted more of her. I couldn’t get enough."

I lowered my head slightly, my hair falling over my face.

I didn’t know if I was hurting her with these questions, or if I was just hurting myself more. How is she this good at hiding everything? Her walls are too strong, built out of pride and Alpha bullshit. I needed to break them down.

Then it hit me. I had seen her crack before. I’ve seen the mask slip. She didn’t like it when I mentioned my one-night stand with the girl at the birthday party. And tonight? She absolutely hated seeing me with Yuki.

"You still didn’t answer my question, Princess. Were you there because of your pups? Or was it me?"

"I was obviously there for my pups. I have to protect them," she said, her voice flat.

"Really?" I raised a brow, not believing a word of it.

She nodded, a fake smile back on her face.

"Do you want to know how my date went? The parts you didn’t see?"

She didn’t respond. She just watched me.

"You ruined it, that I agree with. But if you hadn’t shown up when you did, I would’ve let her take things a lot further.... We would have smashed...."

Her smile flickered for a fraction of a second.

"The whole night was amazing. Yuki was amazing. She was so charming and funny. Every word she said to me," I paused slightly, watching the muscles in her neck tighten, "it turned me on."

Silence. The air in the room felt like it was vibrating.

Good.

"She had this scent. It was more intoxicating than yours will ever be, Princess."

"Take that back right now," she ordered. The growl was back in her voice, low and dangerous.

I closed my eyes, breathing slowly as I spoke....

I exhaled softly, feeling her heart racing against my chest.

"Because tonight, I really wanted Yuki to..."

I didn’t even get to finish the sentence.

The next second, the world flipped. I was pinned hard against the cushions of the couch.

Princess was on top of me, her weight heavy and solid.

I opened my eyes and looked up at her. Her fake smile was gone. Completely gone. There was no mask left, no pride, no walls. All that remained was a jealous, angry wolf growling right in my face. Her eyes were a dark, burning blue.

In a blink, she leaned down and kissed me.

It wasn’t like before. It was hungry. It was possessive. It felt like she was trying to reclaim something that had been stolen from her. It was a claim.

Then she pulled back just an inch, breathing hard against my lips. Her scent was overwhelming now, filling my lungs.

"You are only allowed to want me," she snapped, her voice trembling with rage. "Only me. Do you understand? No one else."

"Why should I want you? When you spend every day pretending you don’t want me?"

"I want you," she finally admitted, the words ripping out of her. "I want every single part of you. I want to consume you until there’s nothing left for anyone else to see. No one else gets to have you. No one else gets to touch you. Only me."

Her eyes locked onto mine, burning with a fire that made my heat spike until I couldn’t think.
