I sat down on the ground in my room, the floor soft beneath me, while Princess helped me dry my hair. She was using the towel first, sitting on the edge of the bed behind me as she worked. I could feel the gentle tugging and the rhythmic movement of her hands, but my mind was miles away.

My mind was still stuck on the fact that she had actually accepted to fight Yuki. I still don’t get why Beam was attacked and got her arm broken in the first place, picking a fight with those bikers. Yesterday, I was honestly happy to see someone get hit, it’s usually funny when it’s someone like her, but just not Princess. I don’t want my girl to be the one taking the hits. I don’t want her to be hurt.

I started pouting, my bottom lip sticking out as the worry started to bubble over.

"What is wrong with you, Cotton?" she asked. She had noticed the frustrated little huffing sounds I was making.

Also, she has officially changed the name from Puppy to Cotton. The reason is that during dinner the other night, my brother was hanging around and Princess called me Puppy right in front of him. My brother couldn’t stop staring at Princess with this weird, confused look the entire time, and it made her really uncomfortable. So, she changed it on the spot. She now calls me Cotton because she says I sometimes taste just like cotton candy.

"I don’t want you to fight Yuki," I cried out, my voice high and full of dread.

"Oh, you’re scared. You don’t want your idol to be beaten up," she said in a playful, teasing tone. I could practically hear the smirk in her voice.

I turned my head around to face her, nearly twisting my neck in the process.

"No, I don’t want you to get beaten up! Your face is going to get smashed. I don’t want to see blood running from your nose. I don’t want my girlfriend to be in pain," I cried, giving her my best, most desperate puppy face.

She just smiled and gently turned my head back forward so she could continue to towel dry my hair properly. She didn’t seem worried at all, which only made me more anxious.

"Oh, I can’t believe my baby cares about me this much. But listen, I am an Alpha. I can take a lot of damage. And don’t go thinking I am going to make it easy for Yuki, either. Besides, it’s just a friendly match, not some all out war. It’s for promotional events. I get to advertise the underground race and show off some of the Kings products. If the match is canceled, a lot of money will be lost. So, the fight has to go on," she explained calmly, her voice steady and soothing.

"Can’t someone else match her?" I asked, still searching for a way out.

I meant anyone but my Pancake. I would really appreciate it if Beam’s arm magically healed up in the next hour, or if Kiara took her place, since she seems to love taking people’s places anyway. I really, really don’t want Princess to fight. She might be an Alpha, but she doesn’t seem like someone who spends their time fighting like a pro MMA fighter. I have never even seen Princess inside a gym. She is more like a diva who likes her comforts than an actual athlete.

Even though I know she can rip multiple people’s hearts out when she goes numb and loses control, but now she is in her controlled state there’s no fucking way she was going to match Yuki in a regulated cage fight. Yuki is a literal undefeated champion. She is more of a beast.

"Hey, don’t expect me to ask my students to stand in for me. That’s not how I lead. It’s either me or Beam," she said firmly. She reached over and plugged in the hand dryer, and the loud whirring sound filled the room as she started using it on my damp hair.

"Just make sure she doesn’t hit your face. I don’t want your beautiful face to be scarred," I muttered, though the sound was mostly drowned out by the dryer.

She switched off the dryer suddenly, the silence falling heavy in the room. Then, she leaned down toward my shoulder, her breath hot against my skin.

"I thought you liked my butt more than my face. So, which one should I protect the most? My face, my boobs, my butt, or my fingers?" she whispered into my ear with a deep, mischievous voice.

"I like all your body parts! Protect all your body parts," I snapped, feeling the heat rise in my cheeks. "You better still be active after that match. I don’t want to hear ’I’m tired’ or ’I’m in pain’ when we’re in bed." I pouted again, crossing my arms.

"Wow, so you’re actually more worried about my performance in bed than my performance in that cage," she teased. She started kissing my neck softly, her lips tracing a path up to my ear. "Don’t worry, baby. I will never be tired for you. I’ll give it to you whenever you want. Anywhere, anyplace, anytime. This Alpha has more than enough stamina for you," she continued, her kisses becoming more intense against my neck.

I tried my absolute best not to get swayed by her electric kisses, but I failed miserably. I always did. I turned around to kiss her lips, and within seconds, we landed back on the bed together. I started kissing her all over, moving from her forehead to her cheeks to her shoulders, telling her over and over that I didn’t want Yuki to hit anywhere I had just kissed. She was just laughing at my seriousness until the mood shifted and we really started making out.

Just when we were right in the heat of the moment, the door swung open and two kids walked in like they owned the place.

"Hello, Aunties!" Dina announced loudly as she skipped in with Kaye right behind her.

Immediately, I scrambled for the blanket, pulling it up to cover both of us because we were definitely half naked. My heart was racing for an entirely different reason now.

"What happened? I thought you guys were busy watching TV," I said, trying to make my voice sound normal, though I was still breathing hard.

"We were, but we got bored of the cartoons. We want to play with you two now," Kaye said, looking completely oblivious as he sat down on his own bed across the room.

I was beyond frustrated. I tried to compose myself and act like a responsible adult, but it wasn’t working. I could feel a low growl building in my throat. This was the worst timing ever.

"Hey, kiddies, why don’t you two go wait in my car? Right now. We are going out for a big shopping trip," Princess announced, saving the situation.

Immediately, the kids’ faces lit up. All thoughts of playing in the room vanished. Both Dina and Kaye scrambled off the bed and ran out the door, already arguing loudly about who would get to sit in the front seat of the car.

I sighed and flopped back against the pillows, staring up at the ceiling. "Is this what it’s going to feel like when the pups finally arrive? Just no more sex ever?" I asked, wondering how on earth we were going to handle four pups together if two kids could shut us down this easily.

"Come on, don’t be like that. It’s going to be fun and exciting, and we are definitely going to find time for ourselves. Don’t worry," Princess said with a reassuring smile. She stood up and helped me pick out a dress to wear from the wardrobe.

We eventually managed to get ourselves together and headed out. We ended up spending the rest of the afternoon at the mall with the kids, trying to keep them from running off while we stocked up on things we didn’t really need.
