The air in the room felt heavy, charged with the kind of electricity that only happens when two people finally stop pretending. Princess had me pinned against the couch, her weight a solid, grounding presence. Her eyes were a glowing, electric blue that seemed to pierce right through me, and her breath was coming in short, jagged hitches against my skin.

"See? You finally revealed your fucking true self," I muttered, my voice barely a whisper but sharp with a victory I’d been chasing for weeks. "You admitted it. You wanted me just as much as I wanted you."

I couldn’t help the smirk that tugged at my lips. I had the last laugh. I won. After all the lies and the cold shoulders, I actually made the Alpha Princess admit her jealousy. The realization made me want to laugh out loud. I’d gotten my answer, and my job here was done. I tried to shift, thinking I’d get up and walk away with my pride intact, but Princess wasn’t moving. She stayed locked over me, her gaze burning with a heat that made my skin prickle.

"You fucking got what you wanted, huh?" she muttered, her face inches from mine. "Where do you think you’re going? You say you’re selfish, then I’m the jealous type."

Before I could even process the words, she crashed her lips against mine in a kiss so deep it stole the oxygen from my lungs. At first, a small part of my brain screamed to break free, to keep my distance, but her scent hit me like a physical wave. It was caramel and leather and something wild that I couldn’t resist. The more she kissed me, the more my resolve crumbled. I didn’t want to fight anymore. I let her consume me, giving in as she took control of the room and everything in it.

The next thing I knew, the living room was a memory. We were in my bedroom, tangled together on the bed with nothing between us. She was on top, her mouth finding every inch of my neck. Her kisses weren’t soft; they were deep, almost stinging, quick and sharp like she was trying to memorize the taste of me. I wanted to move, to say something, but the sheer passion of it took over my body, leaving me paralyzed in the best possible way.

Every mark she left on my skin drew a moan from deep in my throat. She didn’t give me a single second to catch my breath. She moved lower to my breasts, her tongue teasing one side while her hand gripped the other, playing with me in a way that made my mind go completely blank.

A soft sound escaped my lips, one I didn’t even recognize as my own. My thoughts were a tangled mess. When I tried to reach up and grab her hand, she just pinned mine down against the mattress, refusing to let me lead. A sharp hiss left my mouth when I felt her move against me, three of her fingers finding their way inside. It was a sudden, intense heat that made my back arch off the bed.

"You’re fucking wet... so you’ve been holding it all in," she smirked. Her eyes were dark and intense, watching me like I was a puzzle she was finally solving. Her expression shifted, growing darker as she moved faster, her eyes never leaving my face as she watched every flinch and every gasp I made.

"Fuck you... ahhh!" I couldn’t hold the cry back anymore. I shoved my hand over my mouth, trying to muffle the sound. Even though I knew the house was empty, it felt like the whole world could hear how much power she had over me in that moment.

The room was filled with the sound of my voice and the rhythm of her movements. When the release finally hit, it was like an explosion, leaving me shaking and breathless. She slowed down then, keeping her touch steady as the tension began to drain out of me. Her hand returned to my chest, holding me with a tenderness that felt almost strange after the intensity of the last few minutes.

She eventually pulled away, her eyes still locked on mine. She tasted me, then leaned in close so I could taste myself on her lips.

"No one else is allowed to taste you," she whispered into my ear, her voice vibrating through my whole body. "You taste like melted marshmallows... I want to be the only one who knows."

"And you... you shouldn’t taste anyone else," I muttered back. I meant it. I wanted her all to myself. I didn’t care if things were complicated or fake; I didn’t want to share her with anyone.

She didn’t say a word. She just bit my lip and pulled me into another kiss. She lifted me up, pressing us together and finding a slow, steady rhythm that set my blood on fire all over again. I held my breath, my eyes locked on hers as sweat dripped down her face. She was chasing her own release now, her mouth slightly open as she moved faster and faster.

Then, with a low grunt and a flash of that bright blue light in her eyes, she reached her climax. I felt the warmth of her against me as she finally collapsed, her weight pinning me into the sheets as she breathed heavily against my neck.

We stayed like that for a long time, both of us exhausted and covered in sweat. I reached up, gently stroking her hair as the silence of the room settled around us.

"When are you going home?" I finally asked, my voice sounding small in the quiet.

"I’m not," she replied, not moving an inch. "You’re alone here... I’m staying the night. I want to watch you sleep."

I felt a pang of guilt in my chest. I’d told myself a thousand times I wouldn’t give in to her while she was still with someone else, yet here I was. I’d betrayed my own rules just to prove a point. I’d let her have exactly what she wanted.

"Princess... what are we?" I asked, needing some kind of clarity. "Because what just happened isn’t what friends with benefits do... you went all the way."

"You know I don’t do that... only when my rut hits," she said.

"Do what?"

"Us... colliding. The first night, it was an unexpected rut. That’s how this happened... that’s why you’re carrying my pups."

My mind raced. That first night hadn’t been an accident. Someone had triggered it. Was Beam trying to blow up her relationship with Kiara? What was the real plan?

"Kiara... why didn’t she break up with you after finding out?" I asked.

"That’s Kiara. No matter what happens, she still wants me. I’m good for her brand. She always acts like everything is fine..." Princess trailed off, then paused. "Hey... are you okay?"

"No... I’m not." I swallowed hard, feeling a strange sensation on my skin. "I marked you."

"What?"

I shot up in bed, my hand flying to my neck. I scrambled out of bed and ran to the mirror, and there it was, a deep, angry red mark right on the side of my neck.

This bitch really marked me.

"What the fuck did you do?" I yelled, turning back to her.

"I’m sorry... I just wanted to claim you. I wanted you to be mine," she said, her voice dropping into something softer, almost vulnerable.

"You fucking bitch... do you know what that means? You made it worse!"

"I know... we’re mates now."

"That ancient shit," I scoffed, though my heart was racing. "You better break up with her. If you don’t want me with anyone else, then I don’t want you with anyone else. If I’m yours, then be fully mine."

"But I promised her marriage..."

"Fuck your promises," I snapped. "You fucking marked me. Now I can’t be with anyone else."

Before I could keep shouting, she reached out and pulled me into a tight hug, resting her head on my shoulder. The anger was still there, simmering under the surface, but somehow, being in her arms made the room feel still again.

The silence returned, and despite the mess we’d just made of our lives, I calmed down. We spent the rest of the night tangled in each other’s arms, the weight of the mark on my neck feeling like a heavy, permanent promise.
