I can’t believe I woke up with back pains, and I am so tired. It was 8:40 in the morning on Saturday. Good for me. No school, and I don’t get to see that Princess’s annoying face.

I turned on my bed and groaned. My back felt like I carried bricks all night. Maybe it was the detention chair. Maybe it was stress. Maybe it was her. I don’t know if it was on purpose, but she just happened to be around all the time during detention, watching me like a monitoring spirit. Every time I lifted my head, she was there. Calm. Quiet. Reading. All she did was read novels and nothing else. No talking. Just flipping pages like she was born in a library.

I don’t need to think about her. Today is Saturday, and that time of the month I have been waiting for.

The only good thing about this week.

I dragged myself out of bed, stretched slowly, felt the pull in my lower back again, and ignored it. Pain can wait. Matches cannot. After morning routine, I prepared myself a bread sandwich and took a beer from the fridge. It’s Eriko’s. He does notice that his beers are missing, but he doesn’t say a word, unlike my blood brother who would shout like the house is on fire.

I twisted the cap open and took a small sip.

Cold. Perfect.

It was finally time for me to relax on the couch and watch my match. I had imagined it already. Sitting comfortably. Sandwich in one hand. Beer in the other. Watching Yuki destroy Gina like always.

Then my obstacle.

Kaye.

Holding a bowl of popcorn and a chocolate juice box beside him was Dina, his new bff.

"What are you doing?" I said.

"I am about to watch Geo Wild with Dina. What are you doing?" he said slowly like I was the one disturbing.

"I am about to watch Yuki vs Gina, and I am sure you know it’s today. Almost time."

"Really? I thought it was yesterday."

"Oh boy, no, it’s today. Stop your nonsense."

"It’s two against one. Just give up and go to your room... auntie."

"Ohhh, you are doing that now, huh, little nephew? Five-year-olds shouldn’t be watching the wild."

"And sixteen-year-olds shouldn’t be drinking alcohol. And I am six... in five months’ time."

"Hey, can you tell your little girlfriend to shut up?"

"She is not my girlfriend," Kaye said quickly.

"Yes, he is not my boyfriend," Dina added.

"Then what are you two? Inviting each other to each other’s houses?"

"That is what bffs do. And mind you, this is my house too. Fine. First to grab the remote gets to watch whatever they want."

We all stood in one spot, eye to eye, waiting. No one blinking. No one moving. My eyes locked on the remote like it was treasure.

Then we dashed to the sitting room.

I am bigger, so I was supposed to win. I even took the first step faster. But then the cramps again. I stopped. This time it wasn’t my back but my lower abdomen. Sharp. Sudden. I bent slightly.

Dina got the remote. Oh, lucky girl.

"I got it!"

"Yes, we won!"

"Haha ha. It was because I let you win," I said, slowly walking to the couch. I dropped my sandwich and beer beside me like I was not dying inside.

"Na, you lost. You never let anyone win, especially when it comes to Yuki Yuki," Kaye taunted me.

But he was right. I never let anyone win.

"Who’s this Yuki?" Dina asked.

"Yuki is an MMA fighter and a lightweight champion. And also Faye’s dream girl..."

Kaye explained, collecting the remote from Dina and changing the channel like he was proud of himself.

"No, she is not," I said quickly.

"Yes, she is. You simp for her, and your room in Redwood is like a shrine. Every corner reeks of Yuki’s photos. You worship her more than the moon goddess," he said.

"I don’t have a crush on her. I just respect her," I said.

But he was right. I have a crush on Yuki.

I mean, don’t blame me. That girl fucking rocks and fucking hot. The way she moves. The way she punches. The way she looks calm before knocking someone out.

But right now, I need to find a way to watch the match before it begins.

"Okay, okay. What is it going to take for you two to let me have the TV?"

"Nothing. We want to watch Geo Wild. We are preparing for our first shift."

"Five years in advance. I’m preparing myself. And next Saturday I am turning six, so I have to watch, Time is faster than you think.." Dina said like that made sense.

"Have you seen a werewolf shift for the first time? It’s very painful. I said in the most terrifying way possible. I even lowered my voice. I just wished it scared them enough so I could watch Yuki.

"Yes, we know. We have watched it. We want to rewatch it again," Dina said, facing the TV like she was bored of me.

"Are you freaking kidding me?"

"You said the f word," Kaye said.

"I said freaking, not the f word."

"Same thing. You meant to say it. Nana warned you not to say it in front of us."

"I did not say it. Give me the remote."

"Oh my, you are bullying us. Another thing Nana said you shouldn’t do," Kaye said.

He knew what he was doing. He was smiling. Oh, I wish I could rip it off. But I am desperate now. The match countdown must be close.

"Okay. Anything you want, I will do it. It doesn’t matter what it is. I swear on the moon goddess. Please give me the remote," I begged.

"Anything?" Dina said.

"Yes, anything," I said, and she smirked.

"Saturday, I need one more mascot for my birthday party. I already have three. You are going to be the fourth," she said.

"Which mascot?"

"Teletubbies."

"What?"

"If you want the remote, say yes to it. I already have Po, Laa-Laa, and Dipsy."

"So you need a Twinky Winky," I said.

"Yes, and his name is Tinky Winky, not Twinky..." she said like I had insulted her family.

I can’t believe this little girl. But the match is about to begin. I can already imagine the intro music.

"Fine. I will be Tinky Winky," I agreed, collecting the remote and putting on the sports station before they could change their minds.

"Great. I can’t wait to tell my aunty I found a fourth," she said happily.

I turned to them slowly.

"Which aunty?" I muttered, hoping it’s not the same one that I know.

"How many aunties do I have?"

Oh shit. This is not going to be good for me.
