Everyone arrived at the location. Princess stayed in the car while Mr. Griffin showed the rest of them the building.

It looked more like a workshop, a mechanic’s garage filled with car parts and scraps. Dust and grease covered the floor, and the scent of engine oil filled the damp night air.

"Butcher," Mr. Griffin called, but there was no answer. His voice echoed weakly against the metal roof of the garage, swallowed up by the heavy silence inside.

He looked at the people who had brought him, scared that the girl beside him would cut off his ear. He clutched his bandaged wrists tight against his stomach, his chest heaving as he glanced nervously at Beam’s completely emotionless face.

"Butcher!" he shouted. He raised his voice this time, his shoes shifting on the gravel as he tried to get a response from the shadows.

"What is the meaning of this unwanted noise in my garage?" a voice came from under a car.

Everyone stared at the unfinished vehicle as the person rolled out from beneath it.

"Why are you calling my name like I stole your money?" It was a familiar face. She wiped her grease stained hands on a filthy rag, blinking against the glare of the flashlights.

"You’ve got to be fucking kidding me, Bambi..." Faye said as she looked at the girl who looked like a rusted engine. Faye let out a sharp, frustrated breath, her shoulders dropping as she recognized the messy hair and the dirty overalls.

"Oh, it’s Malone’s BFF," Bambi said. She tossed the rag onto a nearby tool cart, crossing her arms over her chest with a small, lazy smirk. "Why are you here with a pack of people? Don’t you know this is the hour for sleeping?"

Bambi hadn’t even taken a proper look at the people around her. As usual, she couldn’t read the room. She didn’t notice Peamah’s massive frame blocking the exit, or the way Beam’s fingers were already twitching by her side.

"Where is Malo?" Faye asked. She stepped right up to the front bumper of the car, her eyes locking onto the mechanic with a dangerous glare.

"Why are you asking me? Do I look like his keeper? Don’t you know where his house is?" Bambi scoffed, turning her back to reach for a wrench.....

Beam, not ready to listen to her gibberish, lifted Bambi by the shoulders. She lunged forward like a flash, her fingers digging deep into the fabric of the overalls and hoisting the girl straight off her feet.

Bambi felt one of her shoulders dislocate before she finally looked at Beam’s face. A sharp crack sounded through the garage, and Bambi let out a ragged gasp, the color instantly draining from her cheeks as her eyes went wide with terror. It was the girl who had thrashed her and her friends a week ago. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

"You? What is it with you and breaking bones? You banned me from the convenience store, and now you’re here in my garage assaulting me." Bambi stammered, her breath coming in short, panicked bursts as she dangled from Beam’s grip.

"Answer her question. Where is the boy?" Beam demanded. Her voice was perfectly flat, her arm holding Bambi steady against the metal frame of the car without a single hint of strain.

"I don’t know where that skinny boy is. Maybe you should call his cell phone or report him to the police if he happens to be missing." Bambi whimpered, her legs kicking weakly in the air.

"He is missing. You’ve been bullying him for months, and now you’ve kidnapped him. Where is he?" Faye said. She leaned in close, her teeth bared as her wolf instincts flared at the delay.

"Just because I bully him doesn’t mean I kidnapped him or whatever you all are talking about..." Bambi said. She gritted her teeth, tears of pain pricking the corners of her eyes.

Even as Beam dislocated her second shoulder, she continued insisting she knew nothing. Another sickening pop echoed through the workshop, making Mr. Griffin flinch behind them, but Bambi just let out a muffled shriek and kept shaking her head.

"Yo, are you sure this is the person you gave Malo to, or are you making it up?" Faye asked, turning to the Griffins. She rubbed her forehead, her patience completely running out as she looked back at the shivering parents.

"We gave him to The Butcher, but not this Butcher," Mrs. Griffin explained. She backed away toward the open garage door, her hands trembling as she looked at the broken mechanic.

"Who is this Butcher?" Faye asked.

"Kane Butcher. His name is Kane Butcher," Mr. Griffin answered. He swallowed hard, his voice trembling as he blurted out the full name to save his own skin.

"Then why did you say your name is Butcher?" Beam asked Bambi. She loosened her grip slightly, letting the girl slide down until her boots touched the greasy floor.

"I am Butcher. It’s my last name, Bambi Butcher." Bambi groaned, her arms hanging limply by her sides as she slumped against the car grill.

Finally, everything became clear.

The Butcher they were looking for was a foster care operator with dark intentions. Kane Butcher adopted children and sold them to buyers for huge sums of money. He also kept some of them as workers. The entire operation was hidden behind a fake legal front that the GPS had been trying to track down for months.

The Griffin parents had planned to sell their second son, but Malo found out and took his place instead. Because of that, Jesse was locked inside a freezer to stop him from running away. They had also planned to sell Jesse later.

Bambi escorted them to where Kane was. She walked ahead of them with a painful limp, her shoulders sagging as she led the group down a narrow alleyway toward the neon lights of a shady district.

He was in a bar, drunk, wearing an eye patch. He sat in a corner booth, surrounded by empty glasses, his heavy breathing loud against the low music playing from the jukebox.

"Butcher, where is Malone?" Mrs. Griffin demanded.

"Sister, what are you doing here? Did you bring Jesse? I’m still looking for a profitable buyer, you know." Kane slurred, lifting his head lazily. His single eye rolled over her before drifting toward the door.

This time it was Faye who punched the man hard enough to knock the drunkenness out of him. Her fist flew across the table, connecting squarely with his jaw with a loud crack that sent his head snapping back against the leather seat.

She hauled him across the table, scattering the glass cups as she yanked him close enough to smell the stale alcohol on his breath.

Now fully aware of his surroundings, Kane immediately recognized her. He blinked his single eye rapidly, the sudden pain clearing the fog from his brain as his gaze locked onto her face.

"Oh, it’s little Grande... the Omega girl. Still feisty, I see," he said shamelessly. A disgusting smile broke across his face, revealing his yellowed teeth despite the blood pooling in the corner of his mouth.

"You know me?" Faye asked. She tightened her grip on his shirt, her heart giving a sudden thud against her ribs as she stared down at him.

"Why would I forget you?" He tapped his eye patch. "Why would I forget the girl who made me a one-eyed man?"

Faye stared at him but couldn’t remember him from her past. The memory was completely blank, buried deep beneath years of moving around, but the raw hatred in his single eye was real. The he smiled..

"You’ve all grown up now. You know, I have wealthy Alphas looking for an Omega just like you. What about joining your other friend?"

Kane was completely shameless. He didn’t care about the situation around him. All he saw when he looked at Faye was money. He let out a dry, raspy chuckle, his fingers reaching up to touch his collar as if he didn’t have a pack of angry wolves surrounding his booth.

It was a good thing for him that Faye’s mate wasn’t present to hear those words, or he would already be dead. Princess was still sitting in the car down the street, and if that alpha aura had been inside this room, Kane’s throat would have been ripped out before he could even finish the sentence.
