The hospital room was filled with cries, not from the newborn GrandKings, but from their mother. Faye was sitting up against the pillows, her face completely red as tears streamed down her cheeks, soaking into the fresh hospital blanket.

Faye stared at her babies, looking for anything that matched her genes, but no, she hadn’t found any. She looked closely at each tiny face resting in the bassinets next to her.

The hair color, the features, all went to Princess. Every single one of the four babies had that same thick, black hair and the distinct, sharp jawline that belonged entirely to the Alpha line.

"I did tell you that our genes are strong. For generations, we have only birthed Alphas, and they all have black hair and..." Princess stopped talking when Faye’s crying increased. She quickly shut her mouth, her eyes widening as Faye let out a loud, miserable sob that echoed off the hospital walls.

"I wanted at least one pup to have my hair. I carried them inside me for months, my body changed, and they got your resemblance." Faye wept, wiping her nose with the back of her trembling hand. She looked down at her own reflection in the dark screen of her phone, then back at the tiny duplicates of her Alpha girlfriend.

"Well, maybe they might have one of your characteristics. Kings may look similar, but they do have different personalities from both parents," Princess said, holding the third-born, Ronny. She rocked the small bundle gently in her calm arms, trying to keep her voice soft and soothing to calm the heavy tension in the room.

"Are you sure?" Faye asked. She sniffled, her breathing hitching as she stared up at Princess with wide, watery eyes.

"Yes, but I just hope they don’t inherit your punching habit," Princess muttered. She offered a tiny, teasing smile, trying to lighten the heavy mood before Faye could get truly angry.

Faye slowly looked at Princess. She wanted to talk but then went back to crying. The tears kept flowing, her chest heaving as she let out another frustrated groan into her pillow.

"But I still want them to look like me. Looking at you is enough, but now when I see them, all I see is you.. I want to see me..." Faye complained, her voice cracking as she gestured toward the clear cribs.

"Because they are Alphas and not your gene can’t be compared with ours." Princess explained simply, her natural logic taking over without she realizing how the words would sound to the sensitive girl in the bed.

"Princess, you are not helping," Faye shot back, not wanting her to repeat that word. Her eyes flashed with sudden irritation, her crying cutting off instantly as she glared at her girlfriend.

Princess became quiet and was about to drop Ranny beside Minny, the last-born, when a kick from Minny landed right on Princess’s face the moment she dropped Ronny. The tiny baby foot shot straight up out of the swaddle blanket, striking Princess right along her jawline.

"Ouch," Princess said, touching her face. She blinked in surprise, pulling her head back as she rubbed the spot where the small foot had connected.

"What happened?" Faye asked. She leaned forward, her attention shifting away from her tears for a second.

"Looks like this one carries your genes, but instead of punching, it’s kicking." Princess joked, a soft chuckle escaping her chest as she tucked the blanket back around the rowdy newborn.

"That’s good. Did it hurt?" Faye asked, smiling. A tiny, smug grin broke through her tear-stained face, her heart swelling a little bit at the sight of her son’s early attitude.

"Yes, it does," Princess said, then her phone dinged. A loud electronic chirp came from the bedside table, and Princess grabbed the device to check the screen. "Looks like the pizza is here. I’m going to go get it."

"Okay, bring some refreshments too," Faye said as Princess walked out of the room. The door clicked shut behind her, leaving the room quiet except for the soft rustle of blankets.

Faye was attending to Leony, feeding him, when someone walked in. She kept her eyes down on the small boy in her arms, adjusting the cloth against his cheek.

"That was fast," she said, then realized that the footsteps were not Princess’s and the scent wasn’t either. The heavy, oppressive smell of a completely different Alpha flooded the room, making the hairs on the back of her neck stand up instantly.

She looked up to see Adam Kings holding a basket of baby things and flowers. He stood tall in the center of the room, his presence immediately making the large space feel tiny and suffocating.

Same as always, suited up, with his shoes neatly polished. The dark fabric of his expensive suit didn’t have a single wrinkle, and his eyes were unreadable as he looked.

Faye’s face hardened, seeing the Alpha who had laid his hands on her girlfriend.

"What do you want?" Faye asked as he walked over and dropped the basket and flowers. The wicker basket landed on the side table with a dull thud, right next to the colorful flowers that smelled too strong.

"Where is my little sister?" Adam asked. He didn’t even look at Faye, his gaze scanning the room with absolute disdain.

"I said, what do you want?" Faye repeated, her voice dropping into a sharp, defensive edge.

"I’d advise you to watch your tone. You don’t talk to an Alpha like that, especially an Omega like you." Adam warned, his voice low and rumbling with a natural authority that filled the corners of the room. He stepped closer to the bed, his broad shoulders blocking out the light from the hallway window.

"You are not an Alpha. You are a monster." Faye spat, her chest rising and falling with rapid, angry breaths as she glared right into his face.

Adam ignored the girl and walked over to the three pups who were inside their cradle. His polished shoes clicked sharply against the floor tiles as he bypassed the bed entirely.

"Stay away from them!" Faye barked, not wanting to let Adam go near her pups, and she happened to still be weak due to the delivery. Her muscles ached, and her body felt heavy and exhausted, making her feel completely helpless as she watched him lean over the bassinets.

Adam looked at the pups, checking their features. He tilted his head, his cold eyes examining the dark tufts of hair on the newborns, his face showing absolutely no emotion.

"I said stay away from them!" Faye shouted. She tried to sit up higher, her voice raw as she tucked Leony closer to her chest to keep him hidden from the man’s view.

"They have the Kings genetic material, but due to your stubborn display, refusing to marry my sister, they do not have the right to claim the name," he said calmly. He straightened his tie, speaking as if he were discussing a business contract rather than newborn children.

"Fuck you and your fucking name. They don’t need it. They have my name, and that is enough. So get your fucking hands off my babies." Faye snarled, her teeth bared as the protectiveness of a mother took over her entire body.

"You are not even worthy of becoming a Kings. Princess should take them away from you and find someone else to marry. They deserve a proper home. You have done your job as an Omega...." He said, his words sharp and cruel, aimed directly at her status.

As he talked, Faye stopped listening. At least he wasn’t touching them anymore, but she still hated that he was close to them. The air felt thick with his scent, and it made her stomach turn.

She wondered where her beta Sasha was. She hadn’t seen her since her baby shower. If she were here, she would have made her drag that Alpha out by his expensive collar and throw him down the stairs.

Everyone came to see her, but not Sasha and Haley. The thought of her missing friends made a tiny pang of sadness hit her chest, but she quickly forced it down, focusing entirely on the threat standing right in front of her.

Looking at him, she was glad that Kaye wasn’t around. She wondered how that boy’s life would have been if Adam were the one who took care of him. The thought made a cold shiver run down her spine.

The dude doesn’t deserve to be his father. He was cold, heartless, and viewed everything as a transaction or a matter of pride.

But hearing him repeat the word Omega in every sentence made her blood boil. The word felt like a slap in the face every time it left his mouth, ticking off a dangerous fuse inside her head.

"I’m not an Omega.... You should be the one who should be afraid of me," Faye glared at him, her face showing no fear. She locked her eyes onto his, refusing to look down or show any submission.

"And why should I be afraid of you, young lady?" he asked, stepping closer to her. A small, mocking smile touched the corner of his lips as he looked down at her small frame.

"Because I’m more than an Omega," Faye said. Her voice was steady now, a strange, quiet confidence settling over her despite the exhaustion racking her body.

"Then, what are you?"

Adam Kings was getting closer to Faye’s bed, his heavy shadow falling completely over her and the baby in her arms, but then the door opened.

"Adam, what are you doing here?" Princess demanded, her voice cutting through the heavy air like a blade. She stood in the doorway, a stack of pizza boxes balanced in one hand, her eyes flashing a dangerous, intense blue the instant she saw her brother standing over Faye’s bed.
