So many scenarios ran through my head. Should I go over there and punch Kiara in her stupid face right now? Or should I just go for it and punch both of them at the same time?

What the fuck, man. This wasn’t how it was supposed to go. She was supposed to be breaking up with her. She wasn’t supposed to let her get anywhere near her, let alone let her move in for a hug or a kiss on the lips. My stomach felt like it was doing somersaults, but not the good kind.

I stood there in the middle of the hallway while other students rushed past me to get to their next class. I just watched them. I watched Princess and I watched Kiara. The moment Kiara finally pulled her lips away from Princess, she didn’t just leave. She stayed there for a second, resting her forehead against Princess’s like they were some kind of sad love doves in a movie. Then, she finally turned and walked away.

For a long moment, Princess just stood there in the spot where Kiara left her. Then she finally turned her head and saw me. She saw me watching the whole thing.

I didn’t move. I didn’t take a single step toward her. I stayed right where I was and waited. She was the one who had to walk up to me. She looked at my face and her expression shifted.

"Hey, about that..." she started.

"You fucking bitch, I can’t believe you," I snapped. I kept my voice low so the people passing by wouldn’t catch every word, but it was filled with all the anger I’d been holding in since I stepped out of the cafeteria. "I can’t believe you actually let someone else touch you and kiss you after everything that happened yesterday. After what you did to me."

"I was trying to break up with her," Princess said quickly. She looked like she was trying to find the right words. "And then she just kissed me. She called it a goodbye kiss... or maybe a break kiss... something like that. But I’m telling you, that was the last time. I’m done with her. We’re just friends now."

She actually said it with a smile, like that was supposed to make me feel better. Who the fuck kisses someone like that right after a breakup? That didn’t look like any breakup I’d ever heard of. It didn’t look like a break at all. It looked like two people who were still very much together.

I looked at her, trying to figure out if Kiara had really let go or if this bitch was just lying straight to my face.

"Princess, what exactly did you say to her?" I asked. I needed the specific words.

"I told her I needed a break," Princess said. "I told her that I wanted to be alone for a while. Then she just hugged me, kissed me, and left. That was it."

"That doesn’t sound like a breakup to me," I said. I wasn’t convinced at all. I’ve never been in a real relationship before, but even I know that’s not how a breakup works. Especially not for someone like Kiara. She had spent so much time making it very clear to everyone in this school that Princess belonged to her. She wasn’t the type to just walk away because someone asked for a little space.

"Are you sure Kiara actually understood that you meant a real breakup?" I asked again. I wanted to be sure she wasn’t just hearing what she wanted to hear.

"Yes," Princess said, her voice getting firmer. "And for the last time... we’re over. I just want to focus on my pups now... and you."

"Me?" I blinked.

"Yes. We’re getting married," she said. She said it so confidently, like it was already a done deal and the date was set.

"No, we’re not getting married," I shot back.

"Okay," she shrugged, still looking way too calm. "Then if any nephew of yours ever asks why we’re not married, you can just tell him the truth. Tell him you were the one who rejected me. For the second time."

"Nephew? Kaye? Why would he even ask you that?" I asked. I was completely confused now. When did she and Kaye, are they friends now or what?

"Never mind," she said, waving the question away. "Do you want to have lunch with me?"

"I already ate," I said, and she saw me eating in the cafeteria. Also I wanted to get away from the conversation for a bit. "And I have to go see the maternal teacher anyway. Maybe later."

"Okay."

Before I could turn to leave, she reached out and pulled me into an unexpected hug. It caught me completely off guard. My body went stiff for a second, but then I felt the warmth of her. It felt... calming. It was a weird feeling, considering I was still so mad at her. Students passing by stopped and stared at us. I could hear them whispering to each other. Some of the girls even blushed and looked away, but Princess didn’t seem to care who was watching.

The rest of the day went by pretty quietly for a Monday. It was a relief, especially after all the chaos from yesterday. Between the restaurant and all the Yuki drama, I felt like my brain was fried. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

During my free time, I sat down and actually wrote out a formal apology to Yuki’s agency for everything that had happened. I sent it off, but there was no response. I wasn’t even sure if a real person had read it or if it just went into some junk folder.

The whole school was buzzing. Everyone was busy preparing for the championship finals that were happening this Saturday. It was going to be held outside of Oakland, and the rumors said it was going to be one of the biggest games of the year.

Now that I saw how much hype there was, I understood why Peamah was being such a jerk about his hand. He was serious about the game. I even understood why Princess chose to stay quiet about how he was acting. Everything was about that Saturday.

After school finally let out, I went straight to work. I did my usual routine, grabbing the broom and cleaning around the shop. There weren’t many customers coming in at all. Uncle PP told me it just wasn’t the right season for people to be buying herbs, but I didn’t really believe him.

Honestly, I think it’s because the people living in Oakland don’t really believe in traditional medicine anymore. They don’t want herbs. They want pills. They depend on the drugs Leo puts out for every little thing. If they have a headache or a scratch, painkillers or some kind of boost they go for the chemicals.

I wish I could do something to change their minds, but I know that’s not my field. I’m just a girl working in a shop. Plus, I really don’t want to start any problems with the Alphas.

During these past few days at the shop, I finally managed to connect with Kali, the snake. She doesn’t seem as dangerous as I first thought. After five days of almost passing out every time I looked at her, I finally gathered enough courage to actually feed her.

Kali seems friendly in her own way, but her size is just gigantic. It still freaks me out. Every time I get close, I get this nagging fear in the back of my mind that she might decide to strangle me one day just for fun.

The next day when I walked into school, I knew something was wrong immediately. The entire atmosphere had shifted.

It wasn’t like the usual whispers. This was different. All eyes were on me the second I stepped through the front doors. People were nudging each other and pointing at their phones, then looking back at me with these weird, shocked expressions.

I found Malo near the lockers and asked him what the hell was going on. He didn’t say anything at first. He just looked at me with pity in his eyes and held out his phone. He showed me a video.

It was everywhere. It was on every social media feed and in every group chat.

It wasn’t just some random video of us talking. It was a sextape.

Someone had recorded and uploaded a sextape of me and Princess. It was the one from that night at the Lunny Club.

And I knew who It was....
