Fuck!!!! I'm Having The Alpha Princess's Baby.

After picking up Princess’s medicine, we decided to head back to Oakland. It was nighttime, well past 8, and there was a heavy traffic on the way. The road was a sea of red taillights that stretched out for miles, barely moving. I texted Princess every minute, making sure she knew exactly where I was. I even video called her a few times just so she wouldn’t be worried about my whereabouts or think something had happened to me.

Beam was driving, her hands gripping the steering wheel tight, while Kiara was in the front seat looking bored out of her mind. Me and Malo were in the back, squeezed together with the box. I had a bag of chips on me, eating them loudly so I could get my mind off the fact that I wasn’t comfortable in the car at all.

The tension was thick enough to cut with a knife. Beam was quiet the whole time, her eyes fixed on the bumper in front of us, and Kiara, I don’t know, was busy taking pictures nonstop. She was live on her socials for like 30 minutes, posing and pouting, and now she was busy doing what I don’t know on her screen.

I don’t give a fuck about her followers, but the car was quiet and boring, making the minutes feel like hours. I noticed Malo watching a video on YouTube, the light from the screen reflecting in his eyes. He had earbuds on, nodding along to whatever he was hearing. I tapped him on the shoulder so he could give me one and let me join him watching. I needed something for distraction, something entertaining to keep me from losing it, instead of staring at Kiara and her fucking time on her phone.

Malo handed me the left bud, and I tucked it into my ear. The screen flickered, the narrator’s voice low and calm, almost hypnotic against the sound of the idling engine.

"Night walkers are said to be the most beautiful creatures ever seen. Skin pale like untouched moonlight, eyes glowing softly in the dark, lips red as fresh blood. Their beauty is unnatural... the kind that makes your heart race while every instinct in your body screams to run."

Images flashed across the small screen, showing elegant figures standing beneath a deep purple night sky, smiling with sharp white teeth barely visible. It looked like something out of a dream, or a nightmare.

"They avoid sunlight, and crowded places. Most appear only after sunset, blending perfectly among Weres. They move without sound, never age, and their bodies stay cold no matter how warm the room is."

The video paused briefly, a dark silhouette appearing on the screen before continuing in a quieter, creepier tone.

"And if you ever think you’ve met one... watch their eyes carefully. Night walkers do not blink often. They stare too long. Smile too perfectly. And no matter how normal they look... you will always feel it."

A moment of silence followed, the kind that makes you want to look over your shoulder.

"That suffocating feeling... like prey standing before a starving predator."

Watching that video gave me and Malo chills, the hair on my arms standing straight up. Then, we slowly looked out the window to the right, and we noticed someone had been staring at us from the lane next to ours.

They were on a motorcycle, a sleek black machine that looked like a shadow. The person was dressed all in black, wearing a thick black leather jacket, and the helmet covered the entire face with a dark visor. We couldn’t see the eyes, but we felt something terrifying coming from that direction. It was like the air in our car had suddenly turned freezing cold.

"Ahhhh!" We both screamed at the same time, jumping back into our seats and nearly dropping the phone.

"What the..." Beam muttered, turning back with a startled look on her face. "Why are you two screaming? You’re going to make me crash." she asked, her voice sharp with annoyance.

I heard Kiara muttering the word clowns under her breath. She was actually insulting us, rolling her eyes like we were the most immature people on the planet.

"We are not clowns, Kiara.." I shot back at her, my voice rising. I was already on edge and her attitude was not helping.

"I wasn’t talking to you, so..." Kiara said, acting like some slay vixen as she checked her reflection in the visor.

I was going back and forth with her, my temper flaring up. I had been looking for an argument all day and this was finally the time to let it out.

On the other hand, Malo was trying to look for a reasonable explanation why we were screaming, his face still pale from the scare.

Then there was a sharp knock on the window, right by Kiara’s side.

It was the motorcycle person. They had pulled up right alongside the door. Kiara looked at the person, tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, and then rolled down the window without a hint of fear.

"You need a ride?" the voice said from behind the helmet. It was a bit deep and muffled, sounding strange. Kiara gave a slutty smile towards the person whose face was still hidden behind that helmet.

"Yes, sweetie.. I was already suffocating in here.." Kiara said, giving me a sharp look over her shoulder before deciding to open the door.

Beam reached out and held Kiara’s hand, stopping her from going outside.

"Are you really going to leave us here and ride with a total stranger?" Beam said, her voice full of disbelief and a hint of something else I couldn’t place.

"This car doesn’t look like it’s going to move anytime soon and that..." Kiara said, staring out the window at the motorcycle "is way faster than any car in a time like this... we’ll be in Oakland while you’re still stuck at this light."

Kiara looked back at us and reached over, snatched the box of medicine from Malo’s grip with a quick jerk.

"Looks like I am the only one who is always coming to Princess’s rescue... being her emergency contact when things actually matter..."

Glaring at me again, she climbed out. What was she trying to say? That I can’t save my girlfriend or what exactly? That I was just baggage in the backseat while she was the hero? I swear to the goddess, any more glare from that bitch and I would whoop her fucking ass right there in the middle of the highway, pregnancy be damned.

"Anyways FYI, that is my new bae..." Kiara added.

"Y-you are dating her now?" Beam muttered, her grip on the steering wheel turning her knuckles white.

"Yes, not in the market anymore... sorry to disappoint."

With that, Kiara came down from the car and the biker gave her a spare helmet from the back. She strapped it on, climbed onto the seat behind the stranger, and they drove off, weaving through the stationary cars and disappearing into the night.

Beam was still staring at the empty seat where Kiara was sitting just a second ago. The car felt way too quiet now. Her eyes were unreadable, hidden in the shadows of the dashboard, but something tells me that someone was not in a fucking good mood. The way she was breathing told me she was about to snap.

Malo gave me a tiny tap on the shoulder, leaning in close so Beam wouldn’t hear.

"I’m starting to think we should order our own ride before someone drives over the bridge." he whispered. I didn’t disagree. I just opened my bag of chips and started eating again, waiting for the explosion.
