The Fairy Leader slowly stood up, followed by the two who were half fairies at the Third-level Wizard Apprentice tier.

"Lucien!" Lilia, at this moment, held the doll Adeline in her left hand, and her right arm was nothing more than a short stump, bloodshot in her eyes.

Lucien gave Lilia a cold, indifferent glance.

Being able to eliminate the threat of Lilia while also gaining an extra badge for her own side was undoubtedly a profitable deal. Moreover, her harvest might be even greater once the battle was over.

Bennett’s pupils contracted slightly. With things having reached this point, mediation seemed difficult.

If Lucien was determined to ally with the group of half fairies, the situation would become exceedingly troublesome. Even if he assisted Lilia, he was unlikely to gain any advantage. Besides, he did not actually want to help Lilia wholeheartedly, since his ultimate goal was for his own benefit.

"Back off." Lucien snorted coldly. His spiritual power, on par with that of a Formal Wizard, crushed the unique mental attack, forcefully expelling it from his Spirit Sea. Lucien’s spiritual power then followed the path of the assault back to the spiritual power residing in Adeline, striking back.

"Yah!" Adeline seemed to realize her attack had been thwarted. She let out a sharp cry in panic, then bravely cut off her special spiritual attack despite the risk of backlash.

As the attack was interrupted, Lucien’s spiritual power also smoothly returned to his Spirit Sea, while the Fairy Leader’s nose bled slightly, indicating she had suffered a loss in the spiritual confrontation. When she noticed Lucien’s composed expression, her face subtly changed.

Adeline, meanwhile, hovered in mid-air, motionless for a long while, seemingly struggling to adjust to the repercussion caused by the abrupt end of her attack.

As Adeline’s demands intensified, Lilia’s spiritual power was swiftly depleted, and her body began to shrink rapidly. Even her spirit and consciousness started to weaken and grow abstract...

She looked towards Bennett instinctively to call for help.

But as she opened her mouth, no sound came out.

Because, by then, her face had become incredibly rough, and the structure of her mouth had vanished completely, leaving only a lump of cotton with traces of blood.

And the next moment, her mouth completely sealed shut, her face gradually turned from the vivid skin of a living person into slightly rough burlap, and the facial features on the burlap surface turned from distinct to abstract, barely recognizable as Lilia’s likeness.

The expression on this "new doll" was neither crying nor laughing, a mix of both emotions. At first, her eyeballs still moved slightly, but then they froze, turning into two careless smudges of black ink as if dotted by a child.

Hmm? Lucien felt the severed limb he was holding start to tremble incessantly and, ultimately, it transformed into the torso of a cloth doll, even quickly shrinking and seemingly trying to escape his grasp.

In case this doll, transformed from Lilia, turned out to be foe rather than friend, retaining a part of her body, disrupting her integrity, might make it easier to deal with her later.

"Hee hee hee...," In contrast to Lilia’s gradual dollification, Adeline’s body began to "fill out," and in a burst of clear, bell-like laughter, her previously somewhat abstract dress slowly became ornate, and her somewhat pale head now pulsed with the vibrant hue of life...

"Nature above..." A slightly less powerful half-fairy witnessing this transmutation from doll to living being turned visibly paler.

In less than a minute, where Adeline was once a cloth doll, she now appeared as an exquisitely dressed porcelain doll of a young girl, as if she had just sneaked out from a private banquet of some grand noble, while the lively Lilia had become the "little girl’s" possession, lying quietly like the most ordinary of cloth dolls.

Lucien bowed slightly, and new witchcraft was already primed and ready.

"Adeline... Adeline seems to have forgotten many things, but Adeline remembers that Mother might have given Adeline an order..." At this moment, the girl who had just transformed from doll to human tilted her little head, touching her cheek with a finger, as if pondering something.

At this point, everyone, looking at where Adeline had disappeared, instinctively employed various detection techniques, yet Adeline, along with her "new toy" Lilia, seemed to have evaporated.

Only Lucien and the Fairy Leader had grim expressions, for they had caught a trace of Adeline’s psychic fluctuation, and the fading signal was pointing towards the mysterious and special Dream Layer.

"Nightmare creatures..." Lucien’s expression turned grave. He had originally only suspected Adeline’s existence might be linked to some kind of curse, but now, it seemed she was one of the most troublesome nightmare creatures.
