Fine beads of cold sweat appeared on Lucien’s forehead as his instinct told him that he absolutely could not allow the player to throw that terrifying short spear a second time.

The next moment, a scepter seemingly carved from ice appeared in his hands, the engraved gems gleaming brightly.

Without hesitation, Lucien swung the scepter, and under the stimulation of spiritual power, the energy stored within erupted instantaneously.

The bone-chilling cold burst forth from the Ice and Snow Scepter, the escaping shockwaves instantaneously freezing the raindrops in midair into small ice pellets, and the flowing water trickling down the buildings was entirely fixed in place.

Lucien was slightly taken aback to see that, after giving him a deep look, the otherworldly player rapidly retreated, stowing the short spear and quickly vanishing into the night as Lucien watched.

"Nevertheless... the negative effects are really significant." Lucien stopped in front of a relatively flat ice surface. He struggled to muster a smile, but his attempt was unsuccessful; the muscles on his face had become so stiff they seemed to forget how to smile, affecting even his thoughts, which seemed to forget how to feel anger or sadness.

"It seems I’m about to forget how to smile, but I also won’t get angry or sad, since it seems I’m about to forget these emotions altogether..." Lucien muttered to himself. He swiftly tucked away the Ice and Snow Scepter into his storage ring, his suppressed emotions slowly beginning to return. Then he stretched out his hands, lightly pressed his index fingers to his cheeks, and with some difficulty, contorted his face into a semblance of a smile.

"At least for the coming week... no, two weeks, I cannot use the Ice and Snow Scepter. Otherwise, its persistent erosion might not just freeze my emotions but completely ’remove’ them. And it’s even attempting to ’preach’ to me, hoping I would worship the goddess..."

Lucien’s expression turned serious, after which he cast a deep look at the Mondok family mansion nearby. Then he seamlessly slipped into the Shadow Space and began his swift return.

"Roar!" A ten-meter-long beast with a body resembling a dragon clumsily lay on the ground, its right wing broken and the membrane of its wings riddled with holes from various weapon attacks.

Despite its severe injuries, the beast’s ferocity didn’t wane. It roared and flapped its wings in disarray, trying to regain balance.

However, Hercules wouldn’t give it the chance. As the demon dragon struggled, he stepped forward, his Knight’s sword sweeping down toward it.

Bang.

The sword fell and the demon dragon’s body shook, its head struck in a powerful blow to the neck, crashing heavily to the ground.

It let out a pitiful cry, and the next moment, Hercules’s sword fell again, the power of his Talent "Holy Sword" bursting forth, enveloping the Knight’s sword in a faint white glow.

With a splatter of foul-smelling dark red blood, Hercules severed the dragon’s massive head.

"Commander Hercules, invincible!" The surrounding Knights erupted in cheers.

"Clean up. The first squad will stay to clean up the battlefield and remain on guard, the second squad will handle clearing out any wandering demon troops, and the third squad will follow me into the Demon Nest to destroy the demon’s core," Hercules ordered, wiping the stench of blood from his sword, then issuing commands.

He didn’t wait for the other Knights to catch up and headed straight for the Demon Nest, which resembled a natural cave.

"Energy reaction, abnormal..." Hercules heard the voice of mechanical detection in his mind. He proceeded downward without change to his demeanor.

As Hercules delved deeper, he felt as though he was entering the body of a creature. Thick, blood-red tubes, akin to blood vessels, appeared on the walls of the Demon Nest’s cavern and became denser and thicker the deeper he went.

When Hercules entered the heart of the Demon Nest, he saw a massive, slowly-throbbing dark red heart.

Beside the heart, there were "blood cocoons," some only the size of a human head, appearing underdeveloped and shriveled, while others were as big as adults or even larger, their shapes discernible through the exterior.

And on one side, there were shattered "blood cocoons," from which creatures had seemingly birthed, leaving behind remnants proving their emergence.

Clearly, these "blood cocoons" nurtured one demon after another, and the massive, terrifying heart before him was the absolute core of the Demon Nest.

"Begin the cleanup of these demon larvae." After observing the giant heart for a moment, Hercules gestured to his Knights to start demolishing the Demon Nest.

But he himself did not move, instead observing the massive heart in silence.

"It doesn’t seem there are any abnormalities..." Blue light flickered in Hercules’s eyes, a flood of information streamed into his mind for analysis by his mechanical eyes, yet failed to produce the insights Hercules sought.

"Is it only those two Demon Nests in the north that are special?" Hercules murmured softly, then without hesitation, raised his Knight’s sword and stabbed forcefully into the giant heart.
