"Very well, maintain this coordination among the groups, team leaders stay alert during rotations. Even though that Wizard Apprentice we just faced barely had the ability to resist, in the future battles you might encounter ambushes from stronger enemies, like a Third-level Wizard Apprentice..."

When Lucien arrived there, he saw Donn hurriedly reviewing the battle with the new Wizard blood he was leading while two dead Wizard Apprentices lay beside them.

"Their condition is somewhat better than I expected..." Lucien quietly observed the group of organized new blood, and noticed that these recruits generally seemed in better condition than others.

While some apprentices still had pale faces, the pressure in their hearts seemed somewhat alleviated by the company of their peers, and so there was no one trembling or even collapsing as new recruits on the battlefield might...

However, reviewing the battle in such a situation was still somewhat reckless.

Lucien watched Donn, who was slightly distracted while explaining some key points to six team leaders. As a Formal Wizard, his spiritual power spread out and he sensed a vague wave of spiritual power stealthily approaching Donn.

Judging by the aura of the spiritual power, it appeared to be a Third-level Wizard Apprentice, presumably one skilled in concealing their presence and ambushing.

Should he intervene?

Such a thought flashed through Lucien’s mind, but he quickly suppressed this impulse and silently observed Donn and his team’s reaction.

Of course, while silently observing, Lucien also prepared to intervene at any moment. Nonetheless, he couldn’t help but hold high expectations for this team, whose highest level of combat power was merely a Senior Second-level Wizard Apprentice, and wanted to see if they could surprise him further.

"Alright, everyone spread out, maintain formation, and take turns using detection witchcraft for scouting when entering the building. Although the area has been cleared in advance, we cannot let our guard down..."

Donn was offering final reminders, but soon he felt a fierce attack coming from behind him.

Almost instinctively, Donn rolled away while also activating a Witch Tool meant for saving his own life

An Ice Shield appeared instantly behind Donn, blocking the fatal stab from the ambushing Third-level Wizard Apprentice. Without needing Donn’s command, the recently regrouped team leaders spontaneously began preparing witchcraft, and under their leadership, the team members also started to support them with auxiliary spells or gathering for a second round of witchcraft.

In facing this agile and solitary opponent, the witchcraft deployed by these Wizard Apprentices was extraordinarily uniform.

Zero-level Witchcraft: Torch Fire Technique!

This enhanced version of the Blazing Technique, adapted from Zero-level Witchcraft, was especially good at locking onto the enemy and launching an immediate attack.

After a brief spell preparation, six balls of fire almost simultaneously appeared on the Third-level Wizard Apprentice, and although the attacks of these Second-level Wizard Apprentices met resistance from a defensive Witch Tool he carried, the assault from this group of new blood did not stop. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

Almost right after the first six Wizard Apprentices released their magic, they started rotating within their groups, and a second batch of prepared witchcraft was already ready to be unleashed.

This round of witchcraft appeared a bit chaotic, some aiming to assist Donn in defense or enhancement, two were magic spells intended to disrupt the Third-level Wizard Apprentice, and even one impressed Lucien for it was a creatively modified witchcraft.

Oily Sludge, rather, a whole new witchcraft built upon this supportive Zero-level Witchcraft!

Abandoning the original slippery effect of the witchcraft, it enhanced the ability to produce combustible grease. Perhaps comparing the two directly might seem like the modified witchcraft was less effective, but when this modified witchcraft was combined with the Torch Fire Technique, it proved exceptionally effective.

The grease bubbles that caught fire upon contact, coupled with the unquenchable flames from the Torch Fire Technique, created a terrifying inferno around the Third-level Wizard Apprentice. Even though he had protected himself with defensive witchcraft early on, under the horrific blaze, his defenses began to rapidly fall apart.

Meanwhile, Donn had already managed, with the help of many new Wizard blood, to distance himself from the ambushing Third-level Wizard Apprentice. Now he found a moment to continue leading and commanding these Wizard Apprentices, "Use binding witchcraft, avoid water or ice witchcraft, if you can’t, then use Torch Fire Technique!"

"This is a third-level Wizard Apprentice, killing him scores higher than killing 10 ordinary apprentices. Everybody, make an effort, don’t let him escape!"

Hearing Donn’s encouragement, these Wizard Apprentices intensified their attacks, speeding up the frequency of their strikes.

Yet, the third-level Wizard Apprentice they viewed as prey realized the danger and tried to escape with a fierce expression.

As a Wizard Apprentice, he knew best how to assess the situation.

Initially, he thought these relatively weak Wizard Apprentices would be easy targets for a breakthrough, but now he deeply regretted making that decision.

If he had known these guys were so difficult to handle, he might not have chosen them as his point of breakthrough and instead might have considered breaking through the encirclement of the veteran Wizard Academies.

After all, at least those Wizard Apprentices operated independently, and although they cooperated, there were gaps he could have exploited...

But now, facing this group of inferior Wizard Apprentices, he felt like a bug trapped in a spider web. Each of their attacks was easy to stop, but their continuous, coordinated attempts to find his weak points in a group tactic was truly unbearable.

He even doubted whether he could get close enough to these grouped Wizard Apprentices and try to disrupt their rhythm. He also felt that if he delayed any longer, he might actually get defeated or even killed by this group of inferior Wizard Apprentices!

"What kind of strange tactics are these?" The third-level Wizard Apprentice felt as though he had seen a ghost.

At this moment, he had only two choices: either try to charge into this group of Wizard Apprentices, taking one or two down with him to Hell before dying, or try to escape from their onslaught!

Without time to think further, after throwing a life-saving Sorcery Scroll, he attempted to flee the ongoing barrage from the Wizard Apprentices.

After all, his main goal was to escape the gathering of Wizards, to live rather than drag a few unlucky ones to their deaths with him. He was not ready to die yet!

But soon, the third-level Wizard Apprentice would realize how foolish this decision was.

"Full attack!" Upon noticing that the third-level Wizard Apprentice was creating distance, these Wizard Apprentices no longer had any reservations and started pursuing relentlessly, even Donn, who had been acting as the commander, now cast a binding witchcraft to keep the fleeing Wizard Apprentice from escaping.

"Don’t let him get away! That’s 1500 points, no, with our new member double points rule, it’s 3000 points, 3000 points!" Donn was somewhat excited; as a mentor to these new bloods, his own points were limited.

Now, he seemed to see a pile of shining points beckoning him. Although he had to share these points with his students, such a large amount still made him breathe heavily.

And relatively, compared to Donn, these poorer Wizard Apprentices were almost dizzy from the "3000 points" hitting them; if not for Donn maintaining his sanity and keeping their formation intact, there might have been some Apprentice Wizards caught up in the rush of points and charged out of formation to carry the third-level Wizard Apprentice home.

However, facing 3000 points, the potential of these Wizard Apprentices was fully mobilized, as one witchcraft after another was thrown at the third-level Wizard Apprentice, a stance that made Lucien, silently observing from a distance, silently mourn for the third-level Wizard Apprentice.

More so, he felt a sense of surprise about this group combat mode.

After all, just now, these Wizard Apprentices had combined their strengths to defeat a third-level Wizard Apprentice who was far stronger than any of them.

More importantly, there were many humorous mistakes in the coordination between these Wizard Apprentices, clearly showing that their mode was just a nascent form or a temporarily organized cooperation. However, relying on their trust and tacit understanding, they were able to perform quite effectively on their first attempt.

If they continued training, even optimizing some mistakes and deepening some details, this combat system could perform much better!

Lucien pondered, but soon his thoughts were interrupted by a burst of cheers.

Looking up, he saw that the escaping third-level Wizard Apprentice had been jointly killed by the group of Wizard Apprentices, who were now surrounding the "3000 points," erupting in waves of cheers.

Lucien’s lips curled into a smile, then he glanced at the almost empty battlefield inside the gathering of witchcraft. In a flash, he appeared beside the cheering Wizard Apprentices, next to the mentor Donn.
