"It really is magical," Lucien replied, but that was also his genuine opinion of the Dream Layer.

This was an area entirely different from the Wizard World, with unique rules, and even space itself was constantly breaking apart and being reborn.

Perhaps a region that was tranquil and peaceful one second could eerily vanish the next, taking with it the weaker dream creatures and Dream Worms living there, erased without a trace. Only some higher-ranked dream creatures could sense these dangerous regions in advance and avoid them.

If a wizard who was ignorant of the rules of the Dream Layer recklessly ventured in, even if they could evade the erosion and assimilation by the power of dreams, they would still likely get lost in this ever-changing space, and ultimately perish or be wiped out along with the collapse of a dream fragment.

"Previously..." Earl Sanaxis seemed to be also caught up in his thoughts. He opened his mouth to say something, but his voice abruptly halted, and the Helen Wizard he controlled also came to a stop, even going so far as to reduce his presence to the bare minimum.

"Kid, don’t make a sound; a big one’s coming," Earl Sanaxis didn’t forget to warn Lucien.

Although Lucien didn’t sense anything unusual at the moment, he still decisively heeded Earl Sanaxis’s warning within the unfamiliar Dream Layer. He quickly concealed his spiritual power aura and even relied on some basic techniques from Body Refinement methods to slightly slow his heartbeat as he waited.

The waiting lasted for nearly ten minutes, and soon, Lucien felt a terrifying pressure sweep over from above.

He didn’t look up, but just the subconscious awareness caused his Spirit Power Core to let out a faint rumble, and his consciousness blurred for a moment because of the boom.

In that instant, Lucien’s mind turned to mush, his thoughts became disordered, his awareness blurred, and even his thinking and breathing were completely forgotten. Then, an image of a silhouetted figure with their back to him appeared fuzzily in his mind.

The figure seemed to sense something, its head moved slightly, but it didn’t turn around and instead continued to walk away without looking back.

Each step it took didn’t seem fast, but in Lucien’s perception, after merely three steps, it had vanished without a trace.

It was only now that Lucien felt as if a burden had been lifted, his body’s instincts gradually returning, and his spiritual power also transitioning from being disrupted to stable...

However, he still felt a lingering fear, for just now, he had the sensation that if the mysterious powerful being had turned around, and if they had locked eyes, he could very well have been obliterated by the sheer terror emanating from the being, either his consciousness scattering or his body dying.

It could be said that he had been just one glance, one look away from death.

"What... what level of creature was that?" Lucien’s back felt almost drenched with cold sweat, his voice trembling, legs so weak they nearly buckled, and his face devoid of any color.

"A lord, a Dream Realm Lord. In terms of your Wizard World’s hierarchy, it should be equivalent to the peak of a level six wizard," Earl Sanaxis’s voice held a touch of desolation.

"Level six... a level six wizard," Lucien murmured, closing his eyes, trying hard to recall the terrifying figure from just now, but found that that part of his memory had become distorted and blurry, as if it had been deliberately pixelated.

"Hairy Bi-ped, put away that death-seeking heart of yours, unless you want to draw that lord back here," Sanaxis’s tone suddenly became grave.

"You should know that as dream creatures, they can already exist in the consciousness or dreams of regular beings! Do not recall, do not think or record anything about Him! If you feel that you can’t do this, then it would be best to not sleep for a while, to give Him no chance to infiltrate your dreams."

"Because I have no idea if He has marked you in some way, turning you into one of His coordinates set on a whim. However, caution is still better in such matters because the difference in level between you and Him is too great. Even an indifferent glance from Him can be an unbearable life-or-death crisis for you."

"Uh... like how an elephant might inadvertently step on and crush an ant while walking."

Lucien shivered all over, hastily reining in his earlier rash actions and developing a clearer understanding and deeper awe of higher-level life forms.

"It seems we’re lucky to be alive after all," Lucien remarked with a tinge of self-mockery.

"Suppose so, but even beings of His level have restrictions, have constraints. They can’t go around killing or destroying parts of the world without reason, as that would bring terrifying consequences upon Them. However, what exactly those constraints are is of little benefit for you to know at your current level of power."

Earl Sanaxis’s voice sounded unusually solemn as he urged the Helen Wizard to continue their journey.

Helen Wizard still hadn’t recovered from the terror of having just witnessed the Dream Realm Lord. Her body trembled slightly, and her gaze was vacant and confused, as if lost to some degree.

"Alas, that’s why I say, nightmare creatures are simply the worst thing in this world," murmured Earl Sanaxis. Then, with an unknown ability, he stabilized the bewildered Helen Wizard and once again started towards the depths of the Dream Layer.

"In the depths of the Dream Layer, there are some special areas that, after long-term transformation by the power of dreams, have become more solidified and will not change much over time. They maintain a relatively stable form overall, and one doesn’t need to worry about dream collapse erasing their existence while living there. We call these places ’territories’ in the Dream Layer."

Deep within the Dream Layer, Helen Wizard, under Earl Sanaxis’ manipulation, slowed down her pace. She no longer dared to advance at full speed recklessly as before, but instead, occasionally needed to change direction, pause, or even temporarily hide to evade some of the strong dream creatures active within the territories.

"Sanaxis, how much farther is the ’Land of Reality’ from here?" Lucien was carefully observing the "territory" they were passing by. Were it not for the prohibitive circumstances, he felt the urge to leap down and explore and collect specimens from this special and strange land.

This was the depths of the Dream Layer, a very novel place for most third-level wizards, and it held a great allure for any wizard.

"We’re close now, just around here. I am currently searching for the related nodes," said Earl Sanaxis casually. But suddenly, he began moving Helen Wizard at full speed toward a certain direction.

However, this action didn’t seem like searching for some so-called node, but rather like evading something.

Whoosh—

With Earl Sanaxis’ full encouragement, Helen Wizard’s speed soared to a limit, causing Lucien inside Helen Wizard’s body to feel a strong sense of weightlessness.

"They’ve actually followed us here," Earl Sanaxis muttered under his breath, so softly that Lucien didn’t hear it. And in Lucien’s blind spot, many Dream Worms swiftly integrated into Helen Wizard’s body, increasing her bodily momentum.

Under this state, Helen Wizard’s speed broke through her previous limit and she darted rapidly in one direction.

"Bipedal furry creature, hold tight!" Earl Sanaxis suddenly shouted excitedly.

Lucien was startled, about to ask what was happening, when Earl Sanaxis once again began accelerating Helen Wizard.

Whoosh—

Helen Wizard’s body turned into a streak of light and, after leaving behind a beautiful arc, fled swiftly into the distance.

"Catch him!"

"Don’t run!"

Behind Helen Wizard, there appeared a group of dream creatures of various appearances, roaring with anger. They spoke a language Lucien heard for the first time but could easily understand, and they chased after Lucien’s group rapidly.

One of the fastest dream creatures exuded an aura that, according to Lucien’s perception, was on par with Delatore, a third-level wizard he had seen before.

"How... how could you have provoked them!" Lucien felt that Earl Sanaxis had severely betrayed him, and his tone was tinged with urgency.

"Who knew they would be so petty? Last time, I only ate a little bit of their stuff. And I was very restrained! Although I wasn’t satiated, I still left them a little bit," Earl Sanaxis’ voice seemed to carry a hint of innocence.

"So should they be thanking you then?" Lucien’s mouth twitched, looking at those relentlessly pursuing and bloodshot-eyed dream creatures. If he didn’t know that dream creatures had no familial relations, he would think their desperate attitude was as if Earl Sanaxis had desecrated their ancestors’ graves.

"Who are they?"

Lucien was now a bit helpless, for whatever he said it was too late anyway, and so he inquired about the specifics of the enemy chasing them.

"Cough... they are minions of Lord Dilon," Earl Sanaxis coughed lightly.
