"He really is ruthless," Lucien couldn’t help but exclaim when he found one of the Mysterious Puppets in the ruins of the toppled Colossus.

At that moment, the puppet’s body was tattered, but most of the damage had not come from Lucien’s attack, rather from Wizard Heli’s self-dismantling.

It could be said that Wizard Heli had destroyed all the valuable components of the puppet before the Colossus completely collapsed, leaving nothing behind for Lucien.

"Fortunately, there’s still the puppet itself. Even though it’s damaged, just disassembling some of the rare materials from it values quite a few Magic Stones. After all, this is a body of a Formal Wizard level Mysterious Puppet," he remarked.

Lucien smiled as he collected the damaged puppet, somewhat alleviating the slight despondency he felt from not finding other spoils of war.

"Wizard Lucien, you just killed a Formal Wizard!" Carly said, standing beside him with a look of admiration.

She was already distanced from Lucien, but due to the recent battle, much of the Bloodline power inside her had been depleted, making her complexion somewhat pale.

"It doesn’t really count as a kill, it’s just the body of a Formal Wizard’s Mysterious Puppet. For wizards of other factions, it’s akin to killing their Magic Pet. Although it weakens him, given some time, he will still recover," Lucien shook his head.

"Master Lucien, you’re being too modest," Gagarin approached from a distance, his eyes still filled with amazement, "This was Wizard Heli’s Mysterious Puppet! The difficulty of destroying it is absolutely no less than killing a Formal Wizard, perhaps even higher."

"What do you plan to do with them?" Lucien asked Carly in a soft voice, noticing she seemed to have calmed down the group of half-Fairies, "You should know the value of these half-Fairies. Bringing them all to Greybone Academy could cause unnecessary trouble."

"Wizard Lucien, I know," Carly nodded lightly, "They already have a somewhat secret hiding place on their own. Usually, communication can be done through some weaker Magic Beasts. I plan to help them resolve their bloodline issues first, then gather them together..."

As Carly spoke, she raised her wrist, indicating to Lucien that she intended to settle these half-Fairies internally in Cloud Country in the future.

Lucien nodded, approving Carly’s arrangement.

"So... Wizard Lucien, are we now waiting for the airship to come to Kosai Island then take it back to the academy?" Carly looked at Lucien, her eyes seeking confirmation.

"Waiting for the airship to come?" Lucien’s lips curled slightly, then he shook his head, "If I’m not mistaken, I fear no airships will come for quite some time."

Carly looked at Lucien, somewhat confused.

"Let’s go back on our own. Along the way, I’ll start explaining the basics of Bloodline studies to you," Lucien reached out to tousle Carly’s hair but soon thought of something.

"Carly, if I remember correctly, you are from the Black Marsh Duchy, right? If we return via land and not by air, we will pass through the Black Marsh Duchy. How about we visit your homeland en route?"

It seemed he hadn’t moved for a long time, and now even moving felt unfamiliar and difficult for him.

However, from this sparse-haired, hunched old man emanated the daunting presence unique to a Formal Wizard.

Before the oblivious maid could react, countless fine threads had already completely taken control of her, some threads even penetrating into the maid’s mind, beginning to twist and modify her cognition and even fabricating a set of memories that didn’t belong to her.

"Ahhh..." The maid’s body trembled violently, panic evident in her eyes.

But soon, the panic turned into docility and closeness; she prostrated herself, her eyes looking at Wizard Heli with a trace of soul-deep reverence.

"Woof... Woof woof..." The maid prostrated herself, attempting to wag a non-existent tail, her tongue hanging out, and even her bodily state resembled a dog more than a living human or Wizard Apprentice.

Wizard Heli extended his aged hand, gently playing with his newly birthed "pet," feeling the "dog’s" active snuggling, his inner cruelty seemed to have subsided considerably.

"Damn Lucien, but as long as I am careful not to leave the academy, he can’t possibly do anything to me..." Heli relaxed slightly as he gradually calmed down, a faint smile curling at the corners of his mouth.

Wizard Heli looked at the venom-filled soul of the maid and sneered as he manipulated his fine threads.

The wailing of the weak meant nothing to him; he even greatly enjoyed it.

"Your soul, your body becoming a work of the great Wizard Heli, you should feel proud, or do you prefer being the little dog from earlier?" Wizard Heli smiled as he continued to provoke the maid’s soul, relishing the sharper, more venomous curses emanating from her.

Lucien did not know of Wizard Heli’s madness; he had just boarded a ferry leaving Kosai Island. After parting ways with the four half-fairies, Lucien also bought two spacious and comfortable carriages at the harbor, preparing to return to Greybone Academy by coach.

"Instructor Lucien, him?" Inside the carriage, Carly looked at Edison sitting in one corner of the cabin, drinking down two physical potions, and voiced her perplexity.

"Uh... Edison’s body is rather special, so he consumed a bit more. Now he is also my laboratory assistant," Lucien pondered for a moment before explaining.

Upon hearing Lucien call his name, Edison looked up and showed Carly a row of neat teeth.

Carly glanced at Edison, blinking her eyes.

She felt that something about what Instructor Lucien said was a bit "deep."

From their seating arrangement, it was somewhat evident—like Gagarin and another apprentice, Brown, were currently outside driving the coach, while the somewhat silly-looking Edison was sitting inside the cabin. It was clear that Instructor Lucien seemed to favor this young man.

Carly discreetly looked at Lucien, suddenly harboring a guess in her heart.

This... could this be her future little brother apprentice?
