This wizard only wishes to be a teacher

"I know some information about it, but I don’t need ink. I want to exchange this creature’s information..." As Lucien was scanning his surroundings, a somewhat hoarse voice suddenly emanated from a corner of the underground chamber.

The owner of the voice appeared ghostly, slowly "drifting" from the corner to not far in front of Lucien, shrouded in a layer of ashen deathly mist, with only a pair of lantern-like eyes emitting a ghastly green glow.

"Shall we exchange information here, or step aside?" Lucien asked, looking at the player who seemed to be composed of a "soul body," his eyebrows slightly raised.

"Here is fine," the ghostly player said, his voice sharp and hoarse, like the grating sound of fingernails scraping across paper. He glanced at Lucien and then started to divulge some intelligence about the Chaos Goblins on his own.

"These vile creatures are called Chaos Goblins, and they worship the naturally dominant being ’Mother of Chaos.’ They can even be called the hounds of chaos."

As the ghost recounted, his gaze swept across the other players. Most of them wore puzzled expressions, while a few showed disgust or fear.

"It seems the Chaos World has made quite a few enemies within the Star Sea..." Lucien reflected silently as he listened. Most of the information the player related was consistent with what Hercules had described, and Hercules’ information was even more comprehensive.

However, through the player’s words, Lucien learned some information about the chaos civilization or the Chaos World.

Because, rather than calling it a world, it would be more accurate to say it’s a collection of lives living and reproducing within the body of the "Mother of Chaos," Patricia.

For the Chaos Goblins and other chaos creatures, Patricia is both their homeworld and their goddess, the ultimate and final destination for all.

These lives born from Mother of Chaos, Patricia, though they have independent consciousness, are full of aggression towards other worlds and world-like entities.

After all, the normal worlds are considered "Evil Land" to them, and only by destroying or transforming worlds into the likeness of the "Chaos World" do they become a suitable habitat for these chaos species.

Even when these chaos races advance to the fourth level or higher, they must continually offer the source of worlds or similar world-like essences as sacrifices to Patricia if they wish to continue developing and ascending!

This made the reputation of the Chaos World infamous within the Star Sea, with countless worlds destroyed or severely damaged because of them. Perhaps among the many players present, some were "victims."

"From this perspective, the final goal of those Chaos Goblins might be to obtain part of the source of the Dream Layer within the Land of Reality. They plan to use it as a sacrifice to please the supremely high existence, the ’Mother of Chaos.’ And we, the players, might just become the garnish that the Mother of Chaos inadvertently consumes while savoring a delicacy..."

Lucien felt some trepidation in his heart, and at this moment, he also looked towards the thin old man sitting at the head of the table, who still appeared very calm, revealing no expression. "This ’judge’ does not seem to be from the Chaos World, but from his current demeanor, he does not appear to be very interested..."

Lucien felt a tinge of disappointment. In his eyes, the best ally would naturally be this judge whose strength was close to a fourth-level Wizard. If the judge would intervene, perhaps everything might become exceedingly simple...

"Now it’s your turn to answer," the ghostly player’s voice brought Lucien’s thoughts back to reality. His deep green eyes scrutinized Lucien, a hint of murderous intent radiating from them. He also looked around at the other players as if he wished to find some clues among them.

"My information comes from another player," Lucien said, closing his eyes lightly. "I didn’t know much about this creature beforehand, but through certain channels, I’ve found that their activities are closely related to the Mondok family’s estate in the capital, and they even have a stronghold set up inside the estate."

"Additionally, I can confirm that within this world, there exist Chaos Goblins, and not just a single one; they seem to possess some kind of ability that can temporarily evade or even modify the rules, playing certain roles just like us as players..."

Lucien spoke while observing the actions of others, when suddenly he noticed the judge’s gaze inadvertently sweep over his direction. He shuddered, his spiritual power intensely focused at that moment, fearing that the powerful host of the gathering might lash out unpredictably in the next instant.

"Although they are somewhat rare, they have indeed satisfied some of my curiosity." After Lucien closed his mouth, the ghostly player nodded slightly, his voice still hoarse and sharp, but those lantern-like eyes closed, as if pondering the knowledge Lucien had described.

"Chaos Goblins are not only his enemies but yours as well."

The judge tapped the table lightly with his thin fingers, making a firm knock sound.

His expression was a mix of a smile and not quite a smile as he looked at the many players.

"I think their appetite might be bigger than I imagined, hehehe... After all, inside this special world, although those ’identities’ are not really living beings, their deaths can still please that entity, and quietly steal some power from within the Dream World..."

The judge’s voice was not loud, yet no player present dared to say anything, for such a game involving dominion-level strategies was far too remote for them, mere second-level wizards.

"Your Honor, could you please clarify a bit more?" Lucien looked at the judge who was lightly chuckling and hesitated before finally voicing his request.

"Is this your real purpose, little Wizard?" The judge’s gaze was profound, seemingly piercing through the shadowy currents hiding Lucien’s facial features, directly seeing through to Lucien’s true self.

However, this intense gaze lasted only an instant before a Paperman Clone fluttered out of thin air and landed in Lucien’s hand.

This Paperman Clone bore a striking resemblance to the judge, and upon closer observation, one could see that the lines outlining the figure were made up of a combination of special runes, faintly conveying a special connection between the Paperman Clone and the judge himself.

"What the Chaos Goblins want is this Dream World, or more precisely, the core item that supports the existence of the world," the judge said with a light laugh, his tone calm as though discussing something completely unrelated to himself. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

Many players turned pale, looking towards the judge, uncertain whether to believe him, and also fearing they might be unwillingly dragged into becoming cannon fodder for both sides in the ensuing battle.

Among them, some of the more cowardly players or those who had some doubts about their own strength had already made up their minds to stay as far away from the Mondok family estate as possible, fearing being affected by the upcoming fight.

Lucien, on the other hand, looked down at the Paperman Clone that the judge had somehow sent to him. He said nothing more and just calmly met the judge’s gaze.

From this Paperman Clone, Lucien sensed a power somewhat similar to "laws", but it seemed to be of a higher order than laws.

This was the "reward" the judge had given him, which of course, could also be understood as a bit of arcane assistance from the judge, capable of participating in a battle in the form of a "Paperman Clone" at a critical moment.
