"Sanaxis?" Lucien tried calling out to Earl Sanaxis once more, but just like before, he received no response.

Just as the magical feather pen had described, Earl Sanaxis had fallen into a deep sleep due to some irresistible factors.

After losing the nourishment of the blood, the struggling of the feather pen swiftly diminished and eventually quieted down completely, returning to its ordinary appearance.

"Sigh... That’s finally settled down." Lucien gently patted his chest, having never before encountered such an eerie object.

"Captain, the kid has escaped, what do we do now?" A few knights were looking somewhat fearfully at Captain Fogen, who was bowing his head as if deep in thought.

Fogen turned his head to look at the direction where the main troop was and couldn’t help but gaze in the direction where Rafael had disappeared; reason and hatred battled in his eyes. Finally, lowering his head, he gritted his teeth and said,

"It’s my fault, I’ve let down my brothers and the Captain, but this matter is my personal issue. You’re still knights of the Trujillo family, go back!"

"Captain, don’t say that. When I joined the Knight Order, it was you who took me on, I’m not going back!" As one knight shouted, the others echoed his sentiment, which slightly moistened Fogen’s eyes.

"It’s my fault, brothers, but I just can’t stand it anymore, Jina must be waiting anxiously..." A tear trickled down Fogen’s cheek; then he fiercely whipped his horse, urging it to race forward.

"Ancestors save me!" Rafael looked quite disheveled, a trickle of blood at the corner of his mouth, his eyes showing hints of panic.

He had almost been done for!

He had initially underestimated those natives who weren’t even players, but that man named Fogen had attacked so abruptly, decisively, without giving him any time to sense the danger.

Had it not been for his familiarity with the identity of Rafael, enabling him to react immediately to the ambush and use his hidden talent to escape quickly, he might have already died at the hands of those knights.

But Rafael still couldn’t understand why those knights dared to attack him.

An arrow shot from behind, burying itself in the sand not far from Rafael.

Rafael shuddered, realizing at that moment that he was in grave danger.

"Get out of the way!" Rafael roared, pulling out a "talisman paper" from his storage space.

If Lucien were here, he would easily recognize that the talisman paper Rafael held was written with special tools, forming a "decree."

"You forced my hand!" Rafael’s face twisted viciously, his usual laid-back and jocular expression nowhere to be seen.

He had just witnessed Rafael using some means to reduce several of his brothers, including Captain Fogen, to ashes.

One should know that Captain Fogen was considered a strong figure in the knight corps, and although he was not as powerful as Captain Roland, he could stand a few moves against the captain.

Yet, under that terrifying and bizarre fire, Captain Fogen had no power to resist, and this cruel and strange method made Joel instinctively categorize Rafael as a malevolent demon.

"Damn it, how is this guy not dead yet?" Rafael’s eyes were icy as he saw Lar apparently preparing to continue fleeing. His eyes narrowed, then he picked up a few stones from the ground and fiercely hurled them toward Joel’s direction.

The stones transformed into flying daggers mid-air, but this time Rafael’s target was not Joel, but the battle horse beneath him.

"No!" Joel let out a cry of despair, trying to escape in a stumbling rush, but Rafael had already closed the distance.

Just then, Joel and Rafael saw several knights in the distance searching for something; seeing their movements, these knights rode towards them.

"Damn it!" Rafael muttered softly, then without hesitation, he stabbed Joel’s heart with a knife.
