He felt that Wizard Morgan might have had some wonderful misunderstandings about the privileges enjoyed by Formal Wizards.

Formal Wizards enjoy privileges, not because of their committee membership, but due to their indescribable strength. As for Wizard Morgan, who had long been hollowed out by power and pleasures, he was only capable of bullying Wizard Apprentices and might even lose to Carly.

His heart trembled, suddenly understanding that he had become the first sacrifice in Lucien’s push for reform, while these Formal Wizards, either abstaining or agreeing, had had their stances changed by Lucien through exchanges of benefits or other means.

Indeed, those benefits might even include the wealth that once belonged to him...

Wizard Morgan felt a chill in his heart, his legs even beginning to tremble slightly.

If he had known it would come to this, he would never have been the first to rebel against Lucien; all he wanted was for the status and rights of a Formal Wizard to remain untouched...

In a pleading manner, Wizard Morgan looked toward those Formal Wizards who had not yet voted. If he could speak, he would even be willing to exchange all his accumulated wealth with these wizards to obtain their votes against.

Lucien glanced at Morgan Wizard, whose face had turned ashen, a cold smile on his lips.

If he had simply wanted to kill Morgan Wizard, it really wouldn’t have been necessary to go to such great lengths. For example, sending Carly with the Wizard’s Notes would suffice if she was careful enough to execute Morgan Wizard. If not, he could have directly sent Helen Wizard, who could, as a separate entity, kill Morgan Wizard and bypass the restrictions on Lucien in the Greybone Academy’s Contract Book.

Yet, Lucien had proceeded with an official trial for Morgan Wizard, even going so far as to use the Meditation Method "Starry Sky" he had obtained from the Level 3 Wizard Delatore as a bargaining chip to sway the Formal Wizards.

This was a higher-level Meditation Method, more advanced than the Greybone Meditation Method, and absolutely first-rate in attracting Formal Wizards, even more so than some other external resources.

After all, this might be their only hope for progress and possibly even reaching a Second-level Wizard’s rank!

Under the illuminating glory of "Starry Sky," the Formal Wizards quickly revealed their true, quite slippery, nature to Lucien.

Of course, this also had something to do with Lucien’s own formidable strength. Upon realizing they couldn’t forcefully secure benefits from Lucien, these Formal Wizards shifted their attitudes very quickly.

"We... you..." Morgan Wizard’s body trembled, staring at a few Formal Wizards who had previously also harbored animosity toward Lucien, wanting to say something, at least to out these traitors.

But he no longer had the chance.

"Dare to disrespect the Dean, sir!" Wizard Rien sneered, effectively silencing Morgan Wizard. Facing the imminent death of Morgan Wizard, he showed none of the courtesy he normally might, his expression rather fierce instead.

"Hmm..." Morgan Wizard’s eyes flashed with fear.

His body shook, even his legs becoming somewhat wet.

Having been a Formal Wizard for nearly a century, he had forgotten what the fear of death felt like, but now that this fear had descended, he no longer had the courage to confront it.

"Very well, I shall take it upon myself to guard Morgan Wizard," Lucien dispersed the wizards surrounding Morgan Wizard, then silently looked down at the pitiful creature before him.

"Please... I beg you... spare me this once..." Morgan Wizard could not speak, but his eyes pleaded.

If he could have a do-over, he certainly wouldn’t oppose Lucien again, even if it meant surviving, he...
