“All of you, stop holding back and show some tricks. Let’s drive this accursed Storm Giant back,” Lilia said, glancing at Bennett and Lucien once she confirmed that peace was not an option.

Lucien didn’t nod immediately, but instead activated the system’s appraisal function, expending 10 points of Reverence to assess the Storm Giant before them.

“Bright light?” Lucien was slightly startled, but seeing Bennett and Lilia already pulling out their battle witch tools, he pondered for a moment and then stepped forward. “Let me try dealing with this Storm Giant first.”

Bennett and Lilia were taken aback and looked at Lucien with surprise and suspicion in their eyes.

If this were some other Level 3 Wizard level creature, they wouldn’t have been so astonished.

But now, in the high skies, after leaving the airship, finding a stable place to exert force was extremely difficult. Not to mention engaging in a fair fight with the Storm Giant.

Yet Lucien now claimed he would attempt it on his own. His calm manner seemed to be filled with confidence of either defeating or killing the Storm Giant alone.

“Could it be that his strength is close to that of a Formal Wizard, giving him such strong confidence?” Bennett’s heart rose with apprehension. If Lucien’s abilities were indeed close to a Formal Wizard, then the arrangements he had previously made could be in vain. After all, in the face of absolute power, all strategies and tactics can seem quite ridiculous.

Meanwhile, Lilia looked at Lucien with something else in her eyes.

“Carly,” Lucien called. When Carly hurried over, he quickly attached the light sphere to Carly’s arrow using an Enchantment similar to that of a fire rocket.

Understanding his intent, Carly fired the arrow, now attached with the Bright Light Sphere, straight into the heart of the storm.

Bennett and Lilia both looked at Lucien with some confusion, not knowing what sort of trick he was playing.

After all, they could tell at a glance that the real lethality of that bright light sphere wasn’t actually that great; it might cause severe dizziness to the enemy, but the intensity of the witchcraft that burst forth would likely struggle to even kill the weakest first-level Wizard Apprentice.

If Lucien was still hiding his abilities at this time, even trying to use this method to feign profundity… Nate squinted his eyes, his mind, however, brimmed with numerous thoughts.

And just as many ideas surfaced in Bennett’s mind, the bright light sphere that had just been fired into the center of the storm had already exploded, with the blinding light causing many of the weaker Wizard Apprentices or sailors on the ship to instinctively cover their eyes.

“Despicable humans!” In the center of the storm, however, came the somewhat mournful and angry roar of the Storm Giant.

The giant’s body was now wrapped in a flame-like glow, and even the storm surrounding him had subsided significantly due to the Storm Giant’s injury.

Lilia couldn’t help but look at Lucien, her expression one of amazement. He had managed to inflict such great damage on the Storm Giant with the simplest Bright Light Magic.

By now, Lucien’s right hand was once again forming a Bright Light Sphere, seemingly ready to strike the Storm Giant another blow.

However, the Storm Giant, having suffered a great deal, was already controlling the storm to retreat quickly, not giving Lucien and Carly another chance to harm it.

“I came across a book in the library that had some records on Storm Giants,” Lucien noticed Bennett and Lilia’s looks and explained with a smile. “The book said that Storm Giants are particularly afraid of bright light, their fear of bright light is somewhat similar to the human fear of flames.”

“Encountering this Storm Giant today just gave me the chance to test out what the book claimed was true or not.”

Lucien spoke casually.

However, Bennett and Lilia looked at Lucien intently, because in the Wizard World, knowledge was always the best manifestation of power.

Lucien’s ability to defeat and chase away the Storm Giant in the high skies—an environment extremely disadvantageous for their side—just with the simplest Bright Light Magic, was indeed the best demonstration of power.

“Good job, Lucien. I didn’t expect that, although you haven’t been a third-level Wizard Apprentice for long, your accumulation of knowledge is quite impressive. It seems our future missions will be a bit easier,” Bennett praised with a smile, though inside he felt a tad nervous.

“It was just good luck,” Lucien didn’t take Bennett’s probing seriously. For him, just now showing off was merely a way to flex his muscles in front of Bennett and Lilia.

Now that he had achieved his goal, there was no need to continue showing off, which might instead arouse the wariness of Bennett and Lilia toward him, potentially negatively impacting subsequent plans.

Bennett’s gaze flickered, Lucien’s performance had rather exceeded his expectations, even making Bennett feel as if his status as the temporary leader of the team was slightly threatened.

But soon, a smile reappeared on his face.

“Lucien, I think what you just said makes a lot of sense. We’ll head to Kose City in batches first, then carefully observe for a while at our station before we make our move.
