At this thought, Hercules couldn’t help but feel a sense of powerlessness; he somewhat lifted his head to gaze at the sky, seemingly trying to lock eyes with the entity overlooking the entire Dream World.

Soon after, Hercules’s expression revealed a self-mocking smile mixed with a sense of carefreeness. Being naturally jovial, he even thought of his experiences during his previous two reincarnations.

If that Observer had habits similar to that of a Wizard, then He should be observing his test subjects and recording the observations; perhaps I would appear quite humorous in His records... well, maybe even a bit absurd.

Hercules shook his head lightly and slowly lifted the Communication Magic Cube. His gaze, however, seemed somewhat distant, and one could even discern a hint of dejection in his eyes.

After all, at the level of a fourth-tier Wizard, they were worlds apart from these lower-level Cultivators. Facing such beings, resistance or compliance hardly held any meaning.

Perhaps for a powerhouse of that stature, including himself, all the players were just snacks and pets he nurtured.

And as "pets," their joys and sorrows were utterly insignificant. Perhaps in the eyes of that being, their desperate struggles held a different kind of beauty, even more "pleasing" to Him.

Under these circumstances, their struggles and self-rescue efforts seemed rather ludicrous.

At this thought, Hercules no longer hesitated but sent a somewhat dejected message to Lucien. In his view, only a being on the level of gods could confront divine beings.

"Too bad, this must be the deep part of the Dream Layer. Even my aunt would find it hard to reach here, not to mention... she doesn’t even know my exact location."

Hercules shook his head, feeling somewhat dispirited and had even started considering how to die with a bit more "dignity" that might slightly disgust that entity with a perverse sense of humor behind all this.

"Captain... We’ve almost cleared out the Demon Nest. If there’s no other instruction, I’ll let the boys detonate it," a squad leader jogged up to Hercules and quietly asked with an irrepressible joy on his face.

After all, Hercules had just allocated a major share of the spoils from inside the Demon Nest to them. Even though they had to share with all the brothers, given the high value of the resources inside the Demon Nest, it likely meant three to four months’ wages for each person.

That was truly a windfall!

"Alright, handle it as you see fit," Hercules watched the beaming squad leader, feeling an indescribable weariness in his heart.

He was growing tired of this child’s play.

Meanwhile, Lucien, upon receiving this somewhat cryptic message from Hercules, was slightly stunned.

Only a god can fight against a god? Isn’t that common knowledge?

Lucien furrowed his brow, failing to grasp the meaning behind Hercules’s words immediately.

He couldn’t possibly think our opponent is some kind of deity, could he?

Lucien’s brow creased slightly, especially since Earl Sanaxis had told him that within the Land of Reality, it was impossible for divine-level players to exist. The Land of Reality itself is a trap designed for hunting gods.

This place is absolutely a forbidden zone for deities, possibly involving the great being in slumber that Lucien had glimpsed through that feather pen.

Although gods are indeed great and eternal, before those that can uphold the prosperity of a civilization, gods are merely food, mere sustenance. In the presence of beings from much higher realms, they too couldn’t be truly fearless.

However, the powerful entity that constructed the existence of the Land of Reality, would he likely let a piece of juicy meat slip away while he was dozing?

Thinking about this, a sly smile couldn’t help but appear on Lucien’s face.

He flipped his hand and took out the special feather pen. According to what Earl Sanaxis had described earlier, the main material of this feather pen was a feather from that terrifying overlord; it had some special connection with the slumbering overlord, so it was best not to use it lightly to avoid inadvertent scrutiny or feedback from that entity.

After all, the difference in life spans between Lucien and that terrifying existence was simply enormous—a simple turn in sleep or morning irritability from the other side could spell a deadly crisis for Lucien.

But what if it were to remind that great entity that a small snack had arrived, ready to be eaten?

Thinking about this, Lucien was almost tempted to take out the feather pen right now and write a real-name accusation letter to that slumbering overlord.

However, at the very last moment, Lucien held back, for he hadn’t yet quite caught the little tail of that god. Reporting now might indeed attract the inadvertent gaze of that overlord, but there was no guarantee the overlord would notice the god causing the disturbance. A larger risk was that it could affect himself.

What he needed to do first was to stabilize Hercules, at least to keep his ally from feeling desolate and dejected.

Thinking about this, Lucien picked up the Communication Magic Cube and after hesitating for a moment, edited a message to Hercules.

Lucien: Don’t worry about her, if we can obtain the real information about that being, or get a trace of her essence or a token, I am confident that we can handle her.

On the other hand, Hercules, who had been in despair, blinked when he received Lucien’s message.

Lucien had a way to deal with a god?

What kind of joke was that?

That was like an ant claiming it could handle the owner who feeds them on its own.

But Hercules’s expression soon turned solemn. After all, he and Lucien had signed a stringent contract, and Lucien couldn’t lie to him about this matter.

Does that mean he really had that capability?

Thinking about this, Hercules’s heart heated up anew, yet he also felt as though Lucien had donned another layer of mysterious veil.

He even seemed beyond the knowledge of the Wizard Council; the wizard organization he had joined before must not have been very mainstream, so what was his means of dealing with gods?

Could it be that he intended to breach their contract, using the flames of the contract oath to burn himself to death?

It seemed there was nothing wrong with that strategy, as cremation was relatively dignified and seemed to carry a kind of tragic, heroic romance... With thoughts in disarray, and after much hesitation, Hercules still clung to a last thread of hope and sent back a message to Lucien.
