At the VR showcase, her assistant gave me her contact and a catalog of their work, and I couldn’t pass up the chance to partner with them.

Hana herself is a young powerhouse, just out of university, but don’t let her age fool you. She’s razor-sharp, and as she studies me with her intense, icy blue gaze, I feel as if she’s mentally dissecting every word I’m about to say. I know that InfinityFrame only collaborates with top-tier clients, and I need to give her a reason to see my work in the same light.

"Infinity Frames is launching its new invisible track and thin-frame sliding window next summer," my product of interest, "I have a proposal," I say, leaning forward. "Let me use it in my project as an exclusive preview platform until the official launch. In return, you are free to use my designs as a real time demonstration. I’ll further, educate about your products on my social media and YouTube channels and tell the people the difference between a good and average."

The idea’s simple: high-end collaborators showcase their latest innovations in my designs, and I get early access to those top-quality product. The catch? I won’t charge for my designs. I won’t charge them for anything and would even pay them full for the products I’ll use.

For me? I might not gain anything from it, but it will open the doors for my future projects.

Hana asks a few basic questions about my startup and experience, and the sinking feeling grows—I can tell she’s not exactly impressed. Finally, she just stares at me, her expression unreadable. "Miss Yiren, you’re new to the industry. With only one project under your belt, you should understand that we only collaborate with the industry’s giants. I think—"

I shake my head. "Everyone starts from zero, Miss Kang. This is my zero," I say firmly. "Infinity Frames wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for your grandfather’s first break. I remember reading that he once threw a stone at a tycoon’s house just to show how poor the window quality was. Then he replaced it free of charge and invited him to test the new one out. Sometimes, you need bold moves."

A faint smile plays on her lips. I push on, "I may be a caterpillar now, but that doesn’t mean I can’t become a butterfly one day."

Her assistant, a sharp-eyed man, slides a file to her. I recognize him from his five visits to my site, though I have no idea what’s in that file. Hana scans its contents, her expression shifting ever so slightly.

Then she sets the file down and offers me her hand. "Let’s do it. But I want exclusive rights to supply all the window, door, and glass requirements for this project. I’ll give you the best price I could offer. But no freebies."

I can barely keep from grinning. "I won’t disappoint you."

We sign the contract, and as she’s putting away the documents, I ask, "Would you mind if I film some of the products around the factory to post on my account?"

She nods. "Go ahead. And share the link with me once it’s live."

"Will do."

"I’m waiting for you."

"Be there in five minutes," I reply, checking the front mirror.

"My assistant will see you in the parking lot."

In the background, I hear a baby’s soft cries. "Everything okay? I can—"

"No, no. It’s fine," she assures me, laughing softly. "He’s just cranky because I gave him a bath after a... heavy blowout."

"Yikes. Got it. Tell me more when I get there." I hang up, only to see another call come in.

"Hey, bunny," Jun’s voice comes through. "What do you want for dinner?"

I hesitate. "Actually... I have other plans tonight. Sorry, Juju, it’s you and Bear keeping each other company. Don’t miss me much."

Silence, then, "Are you meeting that Kunt guy?"

I can’t help laughing. "It’s Kun. And for the record, Jealous Jun is my favourite version."

"I’m not jealous." His voice is defensive, which only makes it funnier.

"Yeah, keep telling yourself that. Kun seems to be on your mind more than he’s on mine."

"You just get home. I’ll make you pay for saying that."

I smirk, glancing in my side mirror. My smile falters as I notice a red car tailing me since I left the Infinity Frames office. "Yiren? Yiren? You still there?"

"Ah, yeah, sorry!" I snap back to the conversation. "All good. Just... distracted. I’ll talk to you later, okay? Bye."

I hit the accelerator until I’m far away from the red car. Don’t know what creep that is and what he wants. I only relaxed when I pulled into the parking lot. A woman with a bright, professional smile is waiting for me by the entrance.

"Hi, I’m Bai," she says, extending a hand. I tuck the box I’m carrying under my arms to shake hand with her. "This way, please."

"Wow. So this is the legendary office of the tech genius XiuMei and Feng Jianyu," I wander over to the wall-to-ceiling windows, the impressive glass bridge that connects the two twin towers—the physical link between their offices and a symbol of their unique partnership.

It’s a beautiful concept: one premise, two towers, two different companies, and one powerhouse couple. It’s hard not to feel inspired standing here, imagining the balance of power and collaboration that must go on within these walls.
