I woke up to sunlight streaming through the hospital window, flooding the room in warm, golden light.

I don’t even remember where I was—everything seemed so peaceful. I stretch, or at least try to—wait. Are my arms... trapped? And there’s someone breathing on my neck? My heart nearly leapt out of my chest.

Jun.

He’s spooning me from behind, his inked arm draped casually across my stomach like it belongs there. Oh, holy hell. His other hand is... cupping my breast.

If he wakes up, I’ll never hear the end of it. His smug face would haunt me for the rest of my life.

But... let’s take a moment here. It actually felt... nice? Warm, secure, wrapped up in his strong arms. I never let any of my flings cuddle me—this was a first. And it was kind of... comforting. Like I was tucked safely into a place I didn’t know I needed.

Stop it, Yiren. Control yourself. You cannot think this rubbish. He’s Jun. Satan in a designer suit. Get. A. Grip.

I slowly pulled the blanket away, feeling the sudden urge to escape before he woke up. Bear was sprawled around my ankles, his little furry body nestled between the sheets. His eyes cracked open, glaring at me as if to say, "How dare you disturb my beauty sleep?" He gave me a judgy look before burrowing himself deeper into the Jun’s side of the blanket. Good grief, Bear.

I carefully start to wiggle out of his grasp, but then he shifts, nuzzling into my neck and pulling me tighter against him. I freeze as my... um... backside brushes against his front, and oh God—that’s a massive morning wood.

I feel my cheeks heat up. Oh no. No, no, no. Why is this happening to me? Of course, this is happening.

"MMM... behave, Bear. Sleep," he mumbles in his sleep, and I bite my lip to stop myself from laughing. Does he think I’m Bear?

I breathe out slowly, trying not to make any noise as I attempt to pry Jun’s arm off me. Bear, sensing my movements, pokes his head out from under the blanket, giving me a sleepy, but judgmental look. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

"Come sleep with Daddy," I whisper conspiratorially. But instead of moving, Bear just lazily tucks himself deeper under the blanket. Great. Thanks for nothing, buddy. I know I can rely on you.

Just as I manage to slide Jun’s arm away, the door swings open.

"Aww, look at you two," Suyin coos from the doorway. Abort mission! Abort mission!

In a panic, I pull the blanket back over us as quickly as I can.

Suyin winks at me. "Morning cuddles are the best, huh? He’s holding you so possessively."

I force a laugh, "Yeah, he’s... the best cuddler."

Bear, the traitor, chooses this moment to poke his head out from under the blanket, his ears standing on alert. He gives me a slow, unimpressed look as if to say, "Really?"

Suyin raises an eyebrow, "Better than Bear?"

"yes." I glare at the dog in playful defiance. Bad move. Bear stands up, shakes himself off dramatically, barks like I’ve betrayed him, and then proceeds to kick the blanket off Jun and me before leaping off the bed to claim his new spot on the recliner. Taking our only blanket with him.

And now... we’re blanketless.

Suyin pinch her lips, totally seeing everything yet pretending her eyes were on my chart, one hundred percent satisfied by what Bear did to us.

Jun stirs beside me, groaning softly. And here I am, lying next to him, totally exposed, barely covered by my hospital gown, and very much feeling the effects of his morning wood. Could this day get any worse?

I squirm, trying to find a comfortable position, but Jun tightens his grip on my waist, pressing me closer against him. "Stop. Don’t move," he murmurs in a low, husky voice, his warm breath fanning the back of my neck.

Oh, no. Now he’s awake.

I discreetly kick his foot, trying to get him to let go, but instead, he throws his heavy thigh over me, trapping me completely.

"Do. Not. Move. Which part didn’t you understand?" he whispers harshly, his voice rougher in the morning.

My heart races. "Now that you’re awake, shouldn’t you get off?" I hiss, trying to ignore how... firm everything feels pressed up against me. Muscles on muscles. Where did he even get them from? I’ve never seen gym equipment in his house.

"And give Suyin a show of my morning wood? No thank you,"

Is it just me, or did he get even harder? I swallow, forcing my body to relax and stop overthinking. It’s just a little morning wood. A harmless, wiggly worm. Tiny tiny. Not long. Not hard. Shut up, Yiren.

Suyin, meanwhile, is still at the foot of the bed, reading my chart, dragging out the process like she’s in no rush at all. She’s definitely doing this on purpose, isn’t she? I give her a tight, awkward smile, hoping to mask my internal panic.

Finally, after what feels like forever, she sets the clipboard down and smiles. "Alright, we’re discharging you. You can go home, but those nasal splints won’t come out for another week. The nurse will walk you through the care instructions."

Suyin turns on her heel, heading toward the door, but not before she stops by the recliner and gives Bear a loving scratch behind his ears. "Good boy."

Traitor. I glance at Bear, who looks entirely too smug for a fluff ball.

I move like lightning, jumping out of bed. Or, at least I try to. I end up tangled in his long legs, falling right off the bed with a loud thud.

Jun, caught off guard, tumbles off the other side with an equally loud crash. We’re both sprawled on the floor, staring at each other in disbelief.

And there, on the recliner, Bear sits like a king, watching us with innocent eyes. The little fluff ball played us both.
