It’s late, and everyone has finally retreated to their rooms. Zeng took his dejected girlfriend home, and frankly, I have zero sympathy for her. Learning she used Jun to rake in money and portrayed him as villain just adds fuel to the fire.

Jun heads out to handle some work call, leaving Bear and me to enjoy the sauna’s warm embrace to relax our tight muscles. "Enjoying yourself, baby?" I ask, glancing at Bear, who’s sprawled out next to me on his back, legs sticking up as he basks in the heat. He lets out a soft, contented bark, practically purring with relaxation.

And honestly? I’m right there with him.

Jun’s words linger in my mind, stirring something I’m not ready to name.

This could’ve been the perfect opportunity for us to end this whole fake relationship, to draw a line and go our separate ways. But instead, he answered "Real" to Meimei’s question earlier. Why? And why did I feel a strange relief at his answer?

Lost in thought, I nearly jump when the door opens, and there he is, stepping in. A towel slung dangerously low on his hips, tan skin and tattooed muscles on display.

"Hey," I manage to say, giving a casual wave.

"I should give Rui a raise for telling me where you and this little dumpling was," he teases, glancing at Bear. "I searched the whole house."

I arch a brow. "What? Thought I’d run off with your dog?"

He smirks, pulling Bear’s little paws as he tries to steal the spot beside me. "He’s already half yours." But Bear, with a soft growl and an angry Bark at Jun, scoots closer to me, laying claim to his spot.

I laugh, ruffling Bear’s fur as Jun reluctantly takes the seat across from me. The sauna suddenly feels smaller, his presence thick and consuming. And he’s definitely naked under that towel. Yep. Completely, unmistakably naked.

Focus, Yiren. Don’t give him the satisfaction of drooling. I know this devil in towel is hot but so as you. Just look how he is looking at you.

"Everyone settled?" I ask, finally breaking the silence when his gaze becomes almost... heavy.

"Yep. Tiring day. They’re all out like lights."

"That’s why I’m here." I gesture around the cozy, wooden sauna. "Needed to relax these muscles."

He leans back, his eyes never leaving mine. "I know other ways to relax after a day like this."

My heart skips, and my mind flashes to this morning’s... encounter in the closet. Heat floods my face, and not from the sauna.

"What? No!" Fuck. Is he a mind reader?

He chuckles. "So, smiling and blushing randomly is your new thing?"

"We’re in a sauna, Jun, and it’s hot. Don’t flatter yourself." I give him a pointed look. "Besides, you left me unsatisfied this morning. Not exactly gentlemanly."

"Oh, that?" he says, lifting an eyebrow. "Consider it an invitation, not a conclusion."

Damn, he’s smooth. And after this morning... I can’t deny it—I want to explore more. This guy knows his games.

Just perfect. I came here to stew in my thoughts with Bear’s excellent company, hoping to relax, but a very hot, very charming distraction showed up... as if complimentary.

"Why did you lie to MeiMei?" I ask, trying to keep it casual.

He shrugs, eyes steady on mine. "Didn’t feel like laying it all on them at once. Besides, our deal isn’t over yet, right?"

"I got the investment, and Hong’s out of the picture. What’s left?"

He rubs his lips thoughtfully. "Why, is my company bothering you now? Am I that annoy—"

"Yes!" I cut him off. "And yes. I can’t wait to be free of this cocky, annoying, satan in suit—towel."

He chuckles low, the sound vibrating through the small space. "Six months, Yiren. Once your business is secure, inheritance and all, we’ll stage the breakup."

Breakup. Right. Sure.

We sit in silence for a few minutes, his gaze never leaving me, feeling like it’s peeling back layers I’m not ready to reveal.

"Those photographs," he says suddenly, catching me off guard. "Can I get a copy?"

"You don’t have them already?"

"Only a handful. But it looked like you have my... well, our whole childhood in that box. I want a piece of that. I want to see my old innocent self."

"Of course." The way he says it warms something in me. But his last words didn’t go unnoticed. "You are not happy."

"I’m not. I feel I got so desperate seeing my brothers getting love of their life that I took the decision in a haste and judged everything wrong. Nothing to be proud of."

"Mind if I ask something personal?"

"Shoot."

"Forget what people say. Is Feng Junjie—you, not the CEO billionaire—proud of yourself now?"

He looks at me, and then at Bear occupying the seat neat to me-- before I even realize it, I’m moving to sit beside him. His gaze racks my body as I move, reminding me how small the towel is. Bear barely stirs, contentedly oblivious that he is on his own.

"I don’t know, Yiren. Sometimes I feel like I am, but then I doubt everything. I want to be someone I can look back on and feel proud of. Right now I feel....lost."

"You are not lost, Jun. You are a loving brother, uncle, and friend. You have dreams, passion, and intelligence. You are hardworking. You give everyone a sense of security. You care for the people you love, you fight for them. You are funny, smart, handsome, hot, charming. You are loyal and have this heart where you give chances to people even when they deserve none." I squeeze his hand, "And you have this side too that craves love. That snuggles in bed with his dog and spoils him like a baby. That collects legos. That cooks. That plays guitar- and don’t dare to deny it because I saw your guitar collection. One day I’m dragging your azz to play it for me. I know you overthink a lot but that’s only because you care a lot. You have that little heart that watches Disney movies and cries when Scar kills Mufasa. Let me enlighten you, You just put on the mask of a big tough guy just because you think you are CEO and a grown-up man and should never feel afraid."

His eyes glisten, and for a second, he looks at me like he’s seeing himself the way I just described him. A little lost, maybe, but hopeful. And the urge to kiss him right here—softly, just enough to let him know I mean every word—has never felt so right.
