Valentina doesn’t turn up. When my men reach the place where she asked Yiren to meet, they only find a phone, which we assume she abandoned so Meimei couldn’t track her. This is about something bigger... I have to keep Yiren safe until we find out everything.

"Eat my dust, Juju."

Zian’s words yank me out of my thoughts."Don’t get too cocky, azzhle," I speak into the headphone mic as I push the race to its limit. "You might be in front, but that won’t last." I hate losing. And I hate losing more when it’s against this azzhle. Stupid game of rock-paper-scissors.

"Uh-huh, keep telling yourself that," Zian teases, clearly enjoying the lead. "Just stop delaying the inevitable and accept your fate."

"I’m catching up. Just wait."

"Ha! You think you can catch me?" he laughs, and I can practically hear his smug smile. "I’ve got the best car out of all of us. You’re all just watching me dominate, just like how I dominated rock-paper-scissors! Even Bro Shi can’t catch up, and he’s got the second pick. Poor guy."

"Shut up, Zian. It’s not like I’m doing something outside my capabilities. Doing a heart transplant is easier," Shishi grumbles. He sighs, clearly frustrated as he tries to navigate the curves. "How did I end up in last place with the second-best car?"

"You must be the only person who can make a good car look like it’s stuck in reverse, Shishi. Give it to Suyin, she’ll do it better," Jianyu laughs, his voice laced with sarcasm. "Come on, bro, at least pretend to race." 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"You know you’re not doing much better, Jianyu. Focus on not hitting the barriers, alright? I won’t be stitching you tonight."

I laugh, listening to this rare Jianyu-Shishi banter.

"Then I’ll ask Suyin to stitch me up," Jianyu fires back. "At least I’m not in the middle of nowhere like you."

"Dr. Wang Shi, the doctor who can’t drive. I’m going to put this on the notice board," Zian can’t help but rub it in.

"Dr. Zian was a good man, and a good doctor. He will be remembered forever. I’ll put THIS on the notice board," Wang Shi responds sharply. "I’m just trying to make sure I don’t hurt myself or anyone else. That’s the job of a responsible adult."

I can’t hold back a laugh. "ShiShi, you’re so cautious, you’re practically driving in turtle motion. Just go faster!"

Everyone’s teasing continues, but all I can hear is the support and love for me in their voices. It’s been a tiring week, and all I’ve been doing is staying at the company, working on the smallest of details, making sure I justify the ’Feng’ legacy that’s tied to me. If it wasn’t for Yiren staying with me at the headquarters all the time, making sure I’m eating, drinking, and sleeping, I’d probably end up in the hospital. It was her idea to call everyone for family time before the race tomorrow to loosen me up a little, and, gosh, it’s exactly what I needed most.

My brothers. My family. And my wife.

I enter the corner from where Yiren is watching us, along with my dolls, Vivian, and the kids. With a controlled amount of steering angle, I use the throttle to break the rear wheels loose and let my car skid, leaving a dark imprint on the track, staying on the throttle to power through until I form a heart.

"So cheesy," Jianyu catches me doing it as he races past me.

"What happened?" Shishi asks.

"He made a heart on the track by skidding his car."

"Cheesy."

"Ewww, cheesy," Zian chimes in. "Um... just for general knowledge, how do you do it?"

"Why, you want to do it for Vivian? Go ask Alexa," I respond, going back to the race, catching Jianyu’s car not too far from me. "And don’t make me recall the CHEESY things you both have done, still doing, and will continue doing for your wives."

I shift gears to push harder, and out of nowhere, the fifth car rips onto the track, its engine roaring like a beast unleashed as it joins us. The screech of rubber on asphalt sends a shockwave through the group as the newcomer kicks up dust in their wake. The car’s not the best of my prototypes—not by a long shot—but the way it moves, the way it shifts corners and eats up the straightaways—it’s like watching a storm in motion.

"What the hell?!" Zian exclaims, clearly caught off guard by the sudden competitor. "Where the hell did he come from?"

"Who is that?" Jianyu asks, "Isn’t that the car no one picked, but—"

"Wait a second..." Wang Shi’s voice trails off, "That’s some serious talent driving, dude. At this speed, he’ll catch us! I need classes."

I chuckle to myself, already knowing who it is. I’ve seen that driving style a hundred times before, impressed, as always. The skill, the speed—everything about it screams professional. The best in the field. He’s not just here to race. He’s here to win.

"I think I know who it is," I say, watching the newcomer break through our pack, pulling the lead with ease.

"Who?" Zian asks.

I let the suspense hang in the air for a second, enjoying the buildup. "Our racer. The one who’ll be competing for our team."

Silence follows. "Your racer?" Jianyu asks, clearly curious now. "Right, you’ve been holding out on us his name. Who is he?"

I smile, my hands steady on the wheel, watching as the unknown driver overtakes everyone with an effortless glide and finishes his first lap, going on to the second. "Consider him as a new entrant in our gang."

They all return their focus to the race, and for a while, it’s a battle to see who can keep up with this mystery driver. NO ONE! That’s a force to be reckoned with on the race track.

As we round the last lap, it’s clear: no one’s catching up. The new driver has a ridiculous lead on us, even though he joined late in the game.

We finish the race after ten laps, all of us pulling into the pits, engines still roaring, tires screeching to a stop. The garage fills with silence for a moment before the sound of helmets coming off fills the air.

Everyone takes off their helmets, watching the newcomer, who has already parked and is waiting for us. Our wives and kids are already waiting for their husbands, more like waiting for the new driver to show his face.

"Did you see that? He was amazing!" Yiren’s eyes sparkle with admiration that is only mine.

Suyin claps her hands. "I swear, I didn’t even see him coming until it was too late. Incredible!"

Meimei, bouncing on her heels, adds, "That was insane! He seriously just blew us all away!" The kids are jumping around, talking about how fast he was. Even Bear is wiggling his tail. Traitor.

Vivian is the only one whose eyes find Zian as soon as he gets out of the car and she sprints to his side. I’m jealous.

We pull our wives to our side. We’re jealous and possessive husbands. Bite us. Yiren is getting a punishment for this, and the look on my brothers’ faces says a similar fate awaits my dolls.

My lips brush against Yiren’s ear as I murmur, teasing and low, "You know, Bunny, I don’t like seeing you get all starry-eyed over another guy."

"What—what are you saying?"

I squeeze her juicy ass. "You go anywhere near him, I’ll bend you over my knee and spank your ass raw."

Her eyes widen, cheeks flushed with embarrassment and something else. She clenches her legs together. Ah, my girl likes it. "Jun! Y-you’re being ridiculous."

"Mhmm... Let everyone leave, I’ll show you how ridiculous I can be."

The mystery driver gets out of the car, stretches like he’s just taken a leisurely Sunday drive. And then he pulls off his helmet slowly.

The shock is instantaneous.

"No way," Suyin breathes, and dashes into the driver’s embrace. He whirls her in the air, laughing.

"What’s up, guys?" he says casually, like he hasn’t just blown everyone out of the water. "Call me Zeng. But I prefer Blaze when I’m on track."

"Hi, Blaze," I answer, keeping Yiren tight by my side. "I told you it’s going to be a surprise for them."

"More like a shock, Jun."

"Wait," Meimei says, eyes wide. "You’ve been keeping him from us this whole time?"

"He’s been in the works for a while," I say. "Had to keep him under wraps until the right moment. Guess that moment is now."

The silence is deafening for a moment. I know why. It’s expected. Zeng and I don’t share a good history due to obvious reasons. But it’s in the past, and I believe in the present. He had been under a lot of stress after his ugly breakup with Fei Hong. The media never stopped harassing him with personal questions and the rumored brawl with the team owners—they even went to the extent of publishing fake news about him. Sponsors pulled out, and no team wanted him as the season was about to begin.

But I wanted this man. Always.

I’ve watched his game long enough to know he is the real king of the racing circuit. As much as a good car is needed to win, it’s the driver who wins.

I got to know that Yifan offered Zeng millions to get on the team, but he refused the offer. Through someone, I found out he did it because he knew about Yifan’s enmity with us. He did it for the family, even when we never considered him one of us. Missing a season for a sportsman can be career-ending, yet he was willing to do it.

I feel a tug on my shoulder, and the next second, Suyin hugs me. I rub her back. "Thanks, Jun. Thanks for giving him the opportunity and trusting him."

Zeng looks at me. "I won’t break the trust."

"I know."
