Should I call him an idiot or an overconfident idiot on steroids? I’m talking about Yifan. He throws one of the most extravagant parties on a lavish cruise that belongs to the King of the Underworld—to launch his F1 car, which he stole from Jun but will shamelessly gloat as his own.

Seriously, what a mess.

He plans this in record time after Jun gives a short tour of his headquarters to ’Ireine.’ No need to guess what made him do that. They’re covering all the grounds to make sure Yifan comes out as the real inventor, but in reality, this isn’t even the car Jun invented.

I can’t wait to see his face on race day.

But that’s later. Right now, I’m a nervous wreck. Jun wants me to attend this party to see if Yifan gives any clues about my connection to him as according to his sources he is bringing his sister as well. He and Xion have gone through everything about his past and mine, but they’ve found nothing that connects us.

A knock on the door pulls me back to the present. Jun walks in and stops a few feet away from me, his jaw hanging low, eyes set on me.

If I was a nervous mess a minute ago, now I’m the woman blushing under the gaze of the man who is openly admiring me.

Gosh, I feel like the world’s most beautiful woman when I see myself through his eyes.

He wraps his arms around my waist as if it’s the most natural thing in the world. I lean into his warmth and calming fragrance as he kisses my exposed shoulder like it’s the most normal thing to do. Yep. We both are nuts.

"I’m scared," I whisper.

"Hahaha, that word doesn’t go with you, bunny. The others should be scared that the little devil is coming for them—"

"AHH!" I elbow him in the stomach.

"What? That’s true. You’re my feisty badass girl." He grins. "Besides, I’m here with you as backup. Yifan has to go through me to reach you."

His deep voice caresses my insides like warm honey, but my stomach is still churning. I need a drink.

"Hey, the entire staff on the cruise are Xion’s people. They’ll keep an eye on everything and won’t hesitate to shoot if the situation demands."

I meet his eyes through the reflection in the tinted window, and that’s all my traitorous heart needs. Now it’s beating like a jungle drum for other reasons.

He’s dressed in a blue tux— the most handsome man on this cruise. No, scratch that. He’s the most handsome man in the entire world. And I’m dressed in a lavish off-shoulder red gown he provided. The way we complement each other as a couple... A ruby and diamond bunny brooch on his pocket doesn’t go unnoticed.

He rests his chin on my shoulder, eyes heating as he looks at me from top to bottom, lingering longer at the long slit on my thigh.

He wraps his arm around my shoulder and locks me in place. "Say that again and see if I don’t bend you over and spank that ass raw."

I try to move his hand, but his grip tightens. Another attempt, and he pulls me back, locking me in place again.

I bend and follow his instructions, mock hitting him in the elbow and groin. I grin like a little girl who just learned a trick. This is going to hurt like a bitch.

He guides me away from the window to the huge mirror in the lavish bedroom. The room belongs to the King of the Underworld, and I see he has a fetish for mirrors— especially the one on the ceiling above the bed.

I don’t want to know why he has a mirror above the bed. And the endless wall of mirrors in the bathroom... As an architect, I know why a client orders such things, and it’s hot as hell. I’d love to watch Jun through them when he makes love—

I comply. His fingers brush against my skin, and then something cold rests against my neck.

My heart skips a beat at the sight of a delicate diamond necklace resting around my neck. The size of the central heart-shaped diamond is so big that I’m afraid it costs a small country. Aren’t pink diamonds the rarest? How did he find one this size?

I have a feeling this isn’t just any necklace but something special.

"But Jun—"

"Shhh. Rightfully yours."

Before I can ask what he means, he swallows my words with the sweetest kiss on my forehead. A kiss full of feeling and love—no lust, no nothing—just a kiss from a man to the woman he adores.
