JUN’S POV

I gently sweep Yiren’s hair over her shoulder and take a deep whiff of her calming strawberry fragrance. The scent does wonders to keep me grounded, especially now. I don’t usually create drama in front of my family—it’s not my style—but seeing Hong’s face contorting with fury as she checks her phone, I know it’s inevitable this time. Fine. If it’s going to happen, let’s just get it over with.

I exchange a subtle, knowing glance with Zian. We’ve been preparing for this confrontation for months, though he always left the final decision to me. And now, it’s happening.

"My YouTube and social media accounts are banned suddenly, Feng Junjie. Care to explain how that happened?" Her anger is palpable, radiating off her like heat waves.

I pause the movie, and all eyes in the camp turn to us. I stay calm, keeping my face neutral. "How would I know about your accounts?" I say, my voice smooth.

Hong’s rage boils over, and she hurls her half-filled wine glass onto the ground, shattering it into pieces. "STOP LYING!" she screams. "You got my accounts banned and even spread the news in the market that anyone who works with me will be blacklisted from Feng Enterprises!"

She turns to Shishi, tears streaming down her face, "So much for being righteous! Is that how you all play dirty, just because you have power?"

Suyin’s eyes shift to me, confused. "Jun, what is going on?" There’s a rule in this family, we don’t take advantage of our power to bully others. Of course, exceptions are always there.

Hong shows her phone to everyone, ugly crying and howling. "Look at what he did!"

Most of my family members, except for Zian and Yiren, immediately pull out their phones to verify. The gossip article I’d tipped off to a famous blog is plastered everywhere, painting Hong in a less-than-flattering light. Zeng’s fists curl at his sides, and he stands up, fury in his eyes. "How dare you pull such a cheap trick, Jun!" His gaze softens when he looks at Yiren. "If this is about Yiren falling down because of Hong, I already apologized to her! Why stoop so low?"

I glance at Yiren, who looks completely clueless. "When did you apologize?" she asks.

"I messaged you."

Yiren quickly checks her phone, and sure enough, the message is sitting there, unread. She raises an eyebrow. "Oops. Well... apology not accepted. It wasn’t you who threw the silicone spider at my feet and made me trip."

All eyes shift back to Hong, whose face turns a deeper shade of red. Embarrassment and anger mix together on her features. She used to be a beautiful woman, vibrant and full of life, but somewhere along the way, that vibrancy turned toxic.

Hong glares at me, humiliated but defiant. I just shake my head, my voice low but firm. "Actions have consequences, Hong. You have been crossing a line since a while, and I simply made sure there was accountability."

"This is my company, and I can do whatever I want, blacklist whoever I want. I don’t need your permission." I don’t know what I see in her once but right now all I want her is out of my life and property.

"Besides," I continue, my voice colder than ice, "You’re responsible for why your accounts got taken down. Buying fake subscribers to boost your rankings? Not a smart move."

Her eyes narrow, and she goes for the kill. "When are you going to stop bothering me because I rejected you?" The jab hits its mark, making my jaw clench involuntarily. She’s used this line against me before, and she knows exactly how to twist the knife.

"Say that again," I demand, barely containing my rage.

"Oh, you heard me, Jun," she spits out venomously. "And let me enlighten your precious family about how low your upbringing truly is—"

Before she can finish, a sharp, resounding slap cuts through the air. Yiren’s palm collides with Hong’s face, the impact echoing across the stunned crowd.

"Do not insult his upbringing," Yiren fires back, her eyes blazing with fury. "I grew up with this man. We’ve driven each other crazy for years, but one thing about him is set in stone—he was raised by the two most incredible men on this earth." Her voice wavers, and I see tears shimmering in her eyes, but her strength never falters. "Questioning his upbringing equals to questioning my upbringing."

Without another word, Yiren rushes inside, and I’m momentarily frozen, unsure of what she’s doing. When she returns, she’s carrying a heavy, familiar box—the same one she made me lug into my apartment when she moved in. Without hesitation, she turns it upside down, spilling an avalanche of old photographs onto the ground.

The images scatter like leaves in the wind, snapshots of my childhood. There are photos of me on Shishi’s back, him giving me piggyback rides, and me on Jianyu’s shoulders so I could see Santa at a Christmas festival. There are pictures of them dressed as Disney princes, just to make my Disney-themed birthday party perfect.

The photos are ordinary but full of extraordinary love.

"Of course," she spits out, her words dripping with venom. "Righteous men raised by righteous brothers. As if I don’t know how deep in the dirt they all are, how many sins they’ve committed just to win the women they wanted." Zeng tries to tug her back, but Hong is too far gone—drunk and seething, a lethal combination that only fuels her toxicity.

"If he’s so righteous," she sneers, "then why couldn’t he take no for an answer? Why couldn’t he leave me alone? Why does he keep stalking me, even after I made it clear I don’t like him? Why is he always trying to sabotage things between me and Zeng? If he’s so noble, why not tell everyone what really happened at the Royal Club?"

The tension coils in my chest, making it hard to breathe. I can feel the weight of my brothers’ stares, their eyes filled with questions...
