She got emotional. I wrap a hand around her waist and kissed her hair. "You actually thought I’d take your help and won’t give anything in return?"

She look at me teary eyed, "I didn’t help you out of any expectation."

"I know. But what’s mine is yours."

"Jun, this is too much— I can’t--"

I squeeze her cheeks until they looks like a fish’s pout. She’s looks adorable like this I really really want to kiss those juicy red lips. But since I can’t I change the topic before she says another word of gratitude or refuse this partnership.

"Want to see it on track?"

Her eyes lit up, "Can I drive?"

"Only after championship. Your driving is—" she glare, challenging me to finish that sentence. I gulp, "Awesome. Mindblowing. Every time you drive I feel god is closer to me— ouch." I wear my gear really fast and met my girl where she’s touching the painted bunny mascot.

She scans me from top to bottom in our team gear, her eyes ablaze as she licks her lips. Things I’d give to know what exactly she’s thinking at the moment.

F1 cars are only single seater. Too bad I cannot take her with me. My team buckles me inside the car and do the safety check.

The door to the race track opens.

I joined the team in the pit crew where they have prepared a setup that needs tire changes, and other stuff which comes with F1 race which I’m not aware of.

But this is thrilling.

It’s just a test but feels so real.

I watch as he slowly bring the car out and aligns it next to the starting point.

A man flags it....

The car literally flew leaving only dust behind. The speed is insane and it took only 5 seconds for him to achieve it.

I wonder about the length of the race.

"306 kms , roughly 57 laps in a single race." I look next to me as the pit crew leader answer. He offer me his hand, "I’m Joe. Feel free to ask me any question."

I feel embarrassed for having zero knowledge, "Was I that obvious?"

"I can read it on your face that all this is alien to you. And this is where my forty years of experience comes handy." He smiles, warm and kind, and I feel he comes to me to say more, "I’m happy we will be participating in 2025 championship. Thank you, Miss. Mu."

"I did nothing. It’s all him."

"Don’t be modest. No one in the team will believe you. Not after we are hearing your praises from Boss non-stop. You have no idea how much we were looking forward to meet this mysterious girl. "

My eyes turn blurry with unshed tears, I know he loves me. But what can I offer him other than pain and years of suffering? That beautiful smile of his which is my favourite, I can’t snatch it from him and drag him with me into the endless darkness.

"Awright team, take position. Remember our target is 8 seconds."

I step back as everyone got on alert and took position. I have again no idea—

"Tire change. A crucial moment. Can even decide the race’s result." Jow explained.

Jun stops in front of his pit crew camp, which I’m assuming is the replica of the real thing.

I blink and whoosh... all four tires were changed, fuel refiled and Jun was back on track.

"Oh my God! Was that a time lapse?"

Everyone’s laughter echoes around me. Joe pats my back, and I love how informal and chilled out this team is. Something that has to do with Jun I’m sure.

"One minute 46 seconds!"

And everyone around me cheered and celebrated. I’m clueless again.

Joe the savour explained that it’s the time taken to finish a lap and if they go by the records this is already top 10.

And then I’m pulled into a Bear hug by a really giant man who looks like a real life Santa with that beard. Joe.

Jun finishes the lap, handover the car to his team, and ran straight for me, taking me in the tightest of hugs.

"You see that Bunny?!"

Uff his happiness is infectious, "I did! You were awesome!"

"Thankyou. Thankyou so much. Without you this would have not been possible," I watch as his team pretends to concentrate on the car but half their attention is on us as Jun keeps me hovered in the air.

"Yo Boss, can you now at least tell us why we have pink Bunny as mascot?"

Jun doesn’t put me down, and turned to the building, "Joe, I’m cutting off your bonus for teasing your Boss too much."

"Ok sorry. But at least tell us if you call her Bunny then what nick name madam has for you."

Jun walked us farther from everyone. I know he won’t answer that. But I’m not a saint.

"Uncle Jujuuuuu!"

Laughter echoes, and Jun’s cheeks are red. "They’ll not let me live down with it."

"Only fair they know your name too."

"You are looking for a punishment."

"Maybe."

He pause, "Bunny, you don’t say such things casually. Not when you have put a ban on certain things."

"Holy cow! Why didn’t you tell me before." His walk turns into a jog. And then he realised he’d be faster if he puts me down and let me ’jog’ with him.
